Brian LaValley, Jehu Barbee and Kolby Smith each took home first place honors in the individuals and your varsity wrestling team earned the first lace team trophy at the Longmeadow Early Bird wrestling tournament held on Saturday.  Congratulations to all!  Your boys varsity basketball team advanced to the final round of the Smith Academy holiday tournament, but they lost to Taconic on Saturday.  Tayvon Hodge had 15 in the losing effort and Dwayne Collins added 11.  Your girls varsity basketball team lost a heartbreaker to Ludlow by a score of 54-52.  Jaliena Sanchez led all scorers with 17 points, while Madison Sinkfield added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the effort.  Paris Lizana had 8 points to lead the jv girls to a come from behind defensive win over Ludlow and your girls freshmen team took the win here at home on Friday. Today both freshmen basketball teams take to the road and the boys jv and varsity basketball teams are here for games against Ludlow.  The tip off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow both the girls jv and varsity head out to Sutton, while your wrestling team entertains Monument Mountain in a battle of the preseason number one and two best teams in Western Mass.  Doors open at 6:00 PM with the wrestling set to begin at 7:00.  Good luck to all our winter teams.

There were no games yesterday as most all the teams had their winter season picture day.  Today the boys varsity basketball team plays the opening round of the Smith Academy Holiday Tournament with a 7:15 PM game at Smith Academy.   The girls basketball teams match up with Ludlow.  The girls freshmen are here in the main gym beginning at 3:30 PM, while the jv and varsity travel to Ludlow for a 5:30 PM tip.  Tomorrow your wrestling team travels to the Early Bird Tournament at Longmeadow High.  We kick off next week with a full slate of games on Monday as both freshmen basketball teams take to the road and the boys jv and varsity basketball teams are here for games against Ludlow.  Good luck to all our winter teams.

Jamal Jackson had 10 points and Tyreke Marsh added 9 as your boys freshmen basketball team defeated Tantasqua by a score of 48 – 41 on the road on Monday.  The girls freshmen lost to Tantasqua by a score of 41-38 despite 16 points from Paris Lizana.  Aniyah Forbes added 10 points and Quantavia Haines had 5 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.  The boys jv basketball team had an early lead, but they couldn’t hold on and they fell to Sutton High last night.  Jessie Laporte had 14 points to pace the junior Dogs, while Jarren Suttles added 8 points and was solid all-around.  Justin Rennis had 10 points, as your boys varsity basketball team dropped their home opener to Sutton as well.

Tuesday your girls jv and varsity teams will travel to Northampton for games that tip at 5:30 PM.  Wednesday your boys freshmen team travels to Southbridge and on Friday the boys varsity plays the opening round of the Smith Academy Holiday Tournament, while the girls basketball teams match up with Ludlow.

Daily Update for Friday, Dec 12, 2014

Your girls JV basketball team had a solid first half of play, but they fell to Mahar on Friday by a score of 32 – 20.  Franchesca Diaz had 5 points to lead the way, while Rhea Harrigan and Vanessa Williams had 4 points apiece.  Your girls varsity basketball team took command early on Friday at they defeated Mahar by a score of 52 – 24.  Kelsie Jacobs had a triple double with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals, while Jaliena Sanchez assed 12 points and 5 assists to lead the way. 

 Your boys wrestling team lost three matches in their quad, but Jalen Rogers and Tyler Fleshig each went 3 and 0 on the day.  Jehu Barbee, Joe Malmborg and Xavier Hines-Coombs took home two wins apiece for their efforts. 

Monday, 12/15 is the season home opener for the boys jv and varsity basketball teams as they match up against a very good team from Sutton High School here at 5:30 PM.  Also, your boys and girls freshmen basketball teams travel to Tantasqua for games beginning at 3:30 PM.  Tuesday, your girls jv and varsity teams will travel to Northampton.

Daily Update for Thursday, Dec 11, 2014

Your boys freshmen basketball team lost to Putnam on Thursday, 12/11 by a score of 52 – 26.  Jamal Jackson led all Bulldog scorers with 11 points.  Your JV boys team lost a triple overtime heartbreaker on the road at Lenox, while the varsity – tied with under a minute to go – also dropped their opener by a score of 63 – 56.  Dwayne Collins had 13 points to lead the guys, while Tayvon Hodge and Pierrce Holmes had 11 points apiece.

Friday, 12/12– it’s your girls jv and varsity who get things going here at home as they each entertain Mahar Regional beginning at 5:30 PM.  Both cheerleading teams will make their first public appearance here as well. 

Saturday, 12/13 – your wrestling team is on the road for a multi-school event and your girls freshmen basketball team gets it going on the road on Monday, 12/15.
