Daily Update

Congratulations to your Wrestling Team for their 45-24 win over Hampshire Regional last night.  The match ends their regular season.  Amadi Pendleton, Christian Garcia-Nieves, Isaiah Williams, Jehu Barbee, and Kolby Smith each recorded pins for the Bulldogs last night.  Your Boys Freshmen Basketball Team won their third game in a row with a 62-58 win over Tantasqua.  Joseph Torres had 14 points, while Brendan Benoit added 9 points and four blocks.  Your Girls Freshmen defeated Tantasqua in the preliminary game.  The Girls Varsity Basketball Team travels to Amherst tonight for a 7 PM game, while the Boys JV and Varsity entertain Longmeadow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  The Varsity guys need a big crowd because this game will have a tournament feel as the guys must win tonight to earn an invitation to the MIAA tournament.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Informational meetings for all Spring Sports will be held today during Student Life period.  If you are in grades 7 – 12 and if you are interested in playing baseball, softball, boys or girls tennis, boys or girls track and field or boys volleyball – then be ready to attend the meetings next Thursday.  High school students will report to the following rooms:  Baseball – rm. 118,  softball – room 120,  boys volleyball – room 115,  Track and field (boys and girls) room 111,  Boys tennis – room 116,  girls tennis – room 108.  For the middle school baseball will be in room 215,  softball in room 211, boys volleyball in room 213, track and field in room 216, boys tennis in room 208 and girls tennis in room 204.

Justin Rennis went off for 29 points and 17 rebounds to lead your Boys Varsity Basketball Team to a 65 – 54 win over Ludlow last night.  Kolby Hightower added 15 points in the win.  Your JV Boys lost to Ludlow despite 13 points and 9 boards by David Marsh. Your Girls Varsity Basketball Team avenged an earlier loss to Chicopee by a score of 51 – 26 thanks to a solid offensive effort by Kelsie Jacobs (16 points 10 boards) and Janaiya Sanchyez (13 points).  The game was really won by the girls swarming team defense however.  Your Girls JV and Freshmen lost to Chicopee.  This afternoon your Girls and your Boys Freshmen Basketball Teams are home in the main gym against Tantasqua High School beginning at 3:30 PM.  Tonight your Wrestling Team finishes their regular season at Hampshire Regional.  The Girls Varsity Basketball game scheduled for today at Amherst has been postponed until tomorrow.  Tomorrow we will also have the Boys JV and Varsity entertaining Longmeadow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Kelsie Jacobs and Janaiya Sanchez each recorded double doubles as your Girls Varsity Basketball Team defeated Chicopee Comp on Saturday night.  Madision Sinkfield added 9 points and 12 rebounds in the league win.  Your Varsity Wrestling Team split their Saturday matches out East as the guys get ready for the Western Mass Individual Tournament this weekend.  Tonight all 3 Girls teams take to the action as the Freshmen travel to Chicopee and the JV and Varsity entertain Chicopee beginning at 5:30 PM.  Your Boys Freshmen will be in the back gym at 5 PM against Ludlow, while the JV and Varsity travel to Ludlow for games also beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrrow your Wrestling Team finishes their regular season at Hampshire Regional and the Girls Varsity Basketball Team travels to Amherst.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Kyla Hill, Paris Lizana, Franchesca Diaz and Samantha Townsend had 9 points apiece, but it was Julia Guilbert’s two free throws that sealed the deal as your Girls JV Basketball team defeated Belchertown last night.  The Varsity lost in the second game.  Your Boys Freshmen took home the win on the road at Agawam Kisean Johnson had 10 points to lead the way.  JaQuan Johnson sank the game winning free throw.  Your Boys Varsity kept their tournament hopes alive with a win over Agawam last night.  Tayvon Hodge paced the guys in the league win.  Today the guys play their third home game of the week with a tip beginning at 5:30 PM, while the girls are here on Saturday for a doubleheader that tips at 4:30 PM.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Kolby Smith earned his 100th career win last night as your Varsity Wrestling team scored a league win over Southwick last night.  Wrestling at 170 pounds Smith joined Christian Garcia-Nieves, Brian Lavalley, Joe Malmborg, Tyler Fleshig, Xavier Hines-Coombs, Kyle Pingree and Guilmond Torres in recording pins last night.  The match also was the guys senior night as Coach Altman thanked each of the seniors for their service to the program and the school.  Your Boys Freshmen Basketball team lost a hard fought 49-37 game to Putnam.  Joseph Torres and Aaron Williams had 6 points and 11 boards apiece for the guys. Today the Guys Basketball teams are home once again with the JV tip at 5:30 PM and the Girls JV and Varsity Basketball teams travel to Belchertown.  Tomorrow has the guys with their third home game of the week, while the girls are here on Saturday for a doubleheader that tips at 4:30 PM.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

The Wrestling Team went 2 and 1 over the weekend as Isaiah Williams, Jehu Barbee, Kolby Smith, Xavier Hines-Coombs and Guilmond Torres each took home a perfect 3 wins on the day.  Smith recorded his 99th career win over the weekend and will look to earn the 100th win of his varsity career here tomorrow night when the team takes on Southwick beginning at 7 PM.  Your Girls Varsity basketball team split a pair of games over the weekend, defeating Amherst here on Friday and falling to Arlington Catholic in Boston on Saturday.  Mariah Pendleton had 16 in the Amherst win and Janaiya Sanchez had 12 in the Boston loss to lead the team.  Your Boys Varsity basketball team fell to South Hadley on Friday despite 12 points from both Kolby Hightower and Tayvon Hodge.  We have a full week of home games beginning tonight with your Boys basketball teams entertaining Chicopee Comp beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow is senior night for the Wrestlers and on both Thursday and Friday the guys are home once again.  We round out the week with the Girls here on Saturday for a doubleheader that tips at 4:30 PM.  Let’s get out there and fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
