Daily Update

Otto Pellegrino tied his career best round 44 yesterday as the varsity golf team earned a 16.5 to 7.5 win over Granby High.  Michael Bushey and Austin Benoit each carded 47’s in the win.

Today the golf team travels to Granby High and the girls soccer team travels to Mahar if the weather allows.  Your cross country teams will be at Forest Park if it stops raining.

There has been a change in strength and conditioning workouts.  They will now be held every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 7 pm for both the boys and the girls.  Everyone is welcome.  If interested, please see Mr. Campagna for more details and to reserve a spot.  If we do not get enough interest we will cancel these workouts all together.

Your girls varsity soccer team evened their season record with a one-sided win over Public Service Academy yesterday.  Your girls varsity volleyball team dropped a 3-2 decision to South Hadley.  Kassandra Diaz and Julia Guilbert paced the girls.  Your golf team dropped a competitive match to Hopkins Academy.  Michael Bushey again recorded the low score for your Bulldogs.

Today the golf team takes on Granby High if the weather allows.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend’s Harvest Games a real success.  An’janae Washington finished first overall and Taniallyz Almenas second as your girls cross country team moved to 5-0 on the season with wins over HCSS and Granby High.  Eliza Mullin (6th overall), Brianna Alvarado and Sara Miranda rounded out the top 5th Sabis finishers.  Your boys cross country team lost to Granby, but took home a win from HCSS.  Amadi Pendleton was first overall for the guys.  The boys varsity soccer team lost to South Hadley by a 2-0 score.  Shayne Audet was solid in the nets.  Justin Pierce scored the game winning goal with less than 30 seconds to go in the jv soccer game as the guys beat South Hadley 3-2.  Noah Valentine and Antonio Rivera scored earlier in the match.  Your girls varsity soccer team earned a 0-0 tie against Holyoke with Sara Brown recording the shutout in the nets, while the jv girls lost a close match.  The varsity volleyball team fell to Ludlow 3-1.  Suwayna Rowe and Danielle Wilson played well in the loss.  Aysha Miller was solid as the jv girls took a 2-1 win over Ludlow in the preliminary.

Congratulations to your varsity golf team as they defeated Pathfinder Regional yesterday by a score of 16 – 8.  Haley Long and Chris Fay swept their individual matches and each of the other golfers got on the scoreboard in the team effort driven victory.  Your girls cross country team took home wins against both Central and Renaissance yesterday as An’janae Washington finished first overall and Tanialyz Almenas second overall to lead the girls to the win.  Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin and Sara Miranda also finished in the top 10 overall.  Your boys cross country team split in their tri-meet with Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert and Amadi Pendleton taking the top three spots for your Bulldogs.  Your boys varsity soccer team lost to Easthampton, while the JV guys lost 3-1 with Justin Pierce scoring the only Bulldog goal.

Selena Zayas, Markina Ako-Brew and Suwayna Rowe led the way as your girls varsity volleyball team made it 6 – 0 on the year defeating Southbridge by a score of 3-0.  Your jv girls took the opening match in straight sets as well.  Cassie Fairman, Angie Gonzalez, Zhalyn Burton and Brionee Burnett led the way for the girls.  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Palmer last night by a score of 3-2.  Tiffany Alban led the way offensively and Sarah Brown had 9 saves in the nets.

Congratulations to your girls varsity volleyball team as they made it 5 wins in a row with their  3-1 win over Mohawk on Friday.  Suwayna Rowe led the way with 18 kills and10 digs.  Markina Ako-Brew and Mykaela DeBrito were solid as well in the win.  Your JV girls swept Mohawk in the preliminary match.  The girls were led by Aysha Miller, Zhalyn Burton and Angie Gonzalez.  Your boys varsity soccer team lost to Hopkins on Friday despite some solid play by James Gonzalez, Kory Colglazier and Shayne Audet.  The jv boys fell 3-2.  Justin Pierce and Christopher Harris scored the goals, while Tre Hodge was solid with his overall field presence.

Today the volleyball teams are here beginning at 4:00 pm in an independent match against Southbridge High School and both girls soccer teams travel to Palmer for games under the lights.  Tomorrow we have the golf team getting over to Pathfinder, the boys soccer teams travelling to Easthampton and the cross country teams matching up against Central at Forest Park.  On Wednesday the golf team gets back into action with a home match against Smith Academy.  Let’s get out there and support your teams!

It was a tough day for your Bulldog athletic teams yesterday as your girls varsity soccer team dropped a one-sided contest to Monson.  Nia Mitchell scored the only goal for the Lady Bulldogs, while Samantha Townsend recorded the assist.  The jv team played a solid game, but they couldn’t find the back of the net and they lost by a 2- 0 score.  The golf team dropped an exciting match to Ware as Michael Bushey had the low overall score on the afternoon winning his individual match by a 4 – 0 score.  Austin Benoit also had a solid round and Colin Fairman took home the win in his match as well.

Aurora Garcia and Zhalyn Burton paced your girls in the loss. Your golf team lost their match to Southwick.  Austin Lucas recorded the top round for your Bulldogs in the loss.

Congratulations to both the boys and girls cross country teams as they each opened their season yesterday with a win.  Anjanay Washington placed first overall as the girls took a decisive win over Putnam.  Brianna Alvarado, Sara Miranda, and Eliza Mullin each finished in the top five overall.  Your boys were led by Amadi Pendleton who finished second overall and first for your Bulldogs.  Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert, Brandon Cavanaugh and Nate Colon rounded out the top Bulldog runners.  Your boys varsity soccer team fell to Athol on the road, while the jv dropped a 7-4 contest to Athol as well.  Evan Hill had 2 goals and Noah Valentine and Jeremy Townsend had a goal apiece in the loss.

Congratulations to your girls varsity soccer team on their convincing 2-1 win over Southwick yesterday.  Avalon Mateo had both goals for the Lady Dogs, while Sarah Brown was nearly flawless in the nets.  Alizaya Clark and Frankie Diaz anchored the defensive effort.  The JV soccer team earned a 2-2 draw with Anjianni Blackman and Takeelya Jackson finding the back of the net.  Your girls varsity volleyball team made it three in a row as they defeated a very good Athol team by a score of 3-2.  Remani Lizana had 14 aces  and 7 kills to lead the girls, while Julissa Arce with 28 assists and Markina Ako-Brew were solid throughout. Your jv team fell to Athol by a 2-1 score.  Brionne Burnett, Cassie Fairman, Angie Gonzalez and Zhalyn Burton played well in the losing effort.  Finally your golf team lost to Pioneer Regional.  Austin Benoit recorded the low Bulldog round, while he took home a draw in his individual round.

Nia Mitchell had two goals and Avalon Mateo assisted twice as your girls varsity soccer team defeated Taconic High School by a score of 5-2 in the rain yesterday.  Sarah Brown was solid in the nets and Frankie Diaz helped to anchor the defensive efforts.  Your JV girls took a one-sided win with Ajianni Blackman connecting for 4 goals and Taleah Hayes scoring twice in the 8-0 win.
