Daily Announcement

Your boys varsity soccer team scored a 2 – 1 win over Mount Everett Saturday at our annual Homecoming games.  Jovan Wallace and Brandon Rusinque scored for the guys, while Dariel Santana was solid in goal with 14 saves.  The jv guys also took home a win.  Kendall Wallace had three goals and two assists and Jeremy Ndungo recorded three goals in the win as the guys had a 7 – 0 victory.
Your girls varsity soccer team was knotted in a 0 – 0 tie against Hampshire Regional at the half thanks in large part to some excellent goal keeping by Kayla Brown.  But a couple of lapses in the second half and an inability to find the back of the net contributed to their 3 – 0 loss.  The jv girls lost by a 3 – 0 score as well.  They surrendered three first half goals and then shutout Hampshire in the second half.
Your girls varsity volleyball team took the first game against Chicopee Comp, but then dropped the next three to record a 3 – 1 loss.  Tyleisia Cooper, Cassie Fairman and Sydney Barklow played well in the loss.  Your jv girls dropped a 2 – 1 contest.  Liz Villa, Tabitha Picot, Sauna Charles and Amaya Harris paced the girls efforts.  The freshmen dropped a straight set match in the opening games.  Lanaya Davis and Kayleena Colon paced the girls.
The cross country girls took home a team win in their dual meet against HCSS.  Adriana Carmona, Nadia Nowicki and Grace Blase took second, third and fifth places overall to record the team win.
Jared Denson took home first place overall as your boys cross country team defeated HCSS in their dual meet.  Jamal Campbell and Kevin West had top five finishes to support the team victory.
Finally the golf team dropped their match on Friday to Franklin Tech.  Colin Consedine recorded his career low round and Zariah Green took home three points on the afternoon.
Today we have your girls soccer teams here against Monson with games beginning at 4:00 PM.
Information meetings for all winter sports begin this week.  The girls basketball meeting gets things going with an informational meeting on Thursday of this week.  Boys basketball and wrestling meetings will be held on Friday.  Next week we will have the meeting for cheerleading on Tuesday and finally it’s boys and girls track teams holding their meeting next week on Wednesday.  All meetings will be held twice each day during Student Life Activity periods.  Registration is now open online for all winter sports.  Remember you must register online and have a current physical exam report on file with the athletic trainer’s office to attend a tryout session.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Campagna or one of the winter season coaches.

Daily Announcement

Jeremy Ndungo had three goals and your boys jv soccer team scored a 7 – 2 win over Putnam yesterday.  The guys had solid team  play to record the home win.  Today we have the golf team traveling to Franklin Tech, while the rest of the teams ready themselves for tomorrow’s Homecoming games.  Remember that games will begin at 9:00 AM and continue until about 2:30 PM.  Plenty of food and games of chance will be available for sale.  Come early and stay late and enjoy the activities.

Kyra Scott, Tyleisia Cooper and Angie Gonzalez were solid all afternoon, but your girls varsity volleyball team dropped a 3 – 1 match to Holyoke High yesterday.  The girls took the first game, but couldn’t hold on as they dropped their second match this week.  Your jv girls also fell to Holyoke in the preliminary match.  Liz Villa, Sauna Charles and Amaya Harris played well to lead our girls.  The freshmen girls team lost in straight sets on the road to Holyoke as well.  Kayleena Colon played well in the loss
Today we have your boys jv soccer team hosting Putnam here at 4:00 PM and th girls varsity and jv soccer teams getting up to Easthampton for games beginning at 4:00 PM.
Informational meetings to winter sports will begin next week.  The family ID website will open on Monday for all registrations for boys and girls basketball, cheerleading, indoor track and field and wrestling.  We will announce the days and room locations soon.  Winter season athletic teams are open to all students in grades 7 – 12.

Your girls freshmen volleyball team dropped a close, exciting match to Tantasqua Regional High School yesterday by a score of 2 – 1.  Lanaya Greene and Ciera Rivera led the way, but it was a total team effort.  All outdoor games were postponed due to the weather.  Today we have the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams here beginning at 4:30 PM, while the freshmen volleyball team travels to Holyoke.  Tomorrow the boys jv soccer team entertains Putnam, while the girls soccer teams travel to Easthampton High.  Good luck to all our teams!
Don’t forget Homecoming this Saturday.  The action gets going at 9:00 AM and will continue with athletic events, food, booths and fun for all until 2:30 PM.  Come early and stay late.  There is no admission for the day!
Want to play a winter sport?  The online registration will open on the family ID website on Monday for boys and girls basketball, wrestling, cheerleading and new this year – indoor track and field.  Information meetings for each sport will begin next week.  We will provide the dates and times as it gets closer.

Your boys varsity soccer team earned a hard fought win over Mahar yesterday.  Jovan Wallace, Tre Hodge, Elijah Nixon and Anthony Britt scored to give the guys the 4 -3 road win.  The jv guys dropped a 4 – 3 game.  Riley Miles, Jeremy Ndungo and Kendall Wallace found the back of the net for your guys.  The girls varsity volleyball team lost  a close match over at Ludlow.  Tyleisia Cooper played well at the net for the girls.  The jv girls fell by a 2 – 1 score in the preliminary match.  Sauna Charles, Lena Lewis and Liz Villa were solid.  Your girls freshmen volleyball team earned a hard fought and exciting win over Ludlow.  Avyana Escobar and Kayleena Little were solid with the serve all afternoon, while Kaylee Little and Ciera Rivera led the way with digs. Nadia Nowicki, Stephanie Bergman, Alina Cantella and Grace Blase finished numbers two through five overall to spark the girls cross country team to a win over Sci-Tech.  Jared Denson finished first overall, but your boys cross country team dropped a close contest with Sci-Tech. Kevin West was second for the guys and fifth overall in the loss.
This Saturday is our Homecoming Day and in addition to booths and games, we have a full slate of athletic events.  It’s non-stop volleyball as the freshmen jv and varsity go back-to-back beginning at 9:00 AM.  The girls soccer teams kick off the outdoor portion of the games at 10:00 AM ,while both cross country teams get things off at approximately 11:45 AM.  Finally we finish the day with  1:00 PM jv and varsity boys soccer games.  Be sure to arrive early and stay late.  Saturday… is Homecoming Day!

Your girls varsity volleyball team lost a 3 – 0 match at Mahar on Friday.  The jv took home a win with a 3 – 0 score in the preliminary match.  Elizabeth Villa, Daisy Matos and Amaya Harris played well for the girls.  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 3 – 2 game to Central on Friday despite holding a 2 – 1 lead at the half.  Ajianni Blackman and Gianna Skakowski scored for the girls.  Today we have both the boys and girls cross country teams at home at Forest Park.  The girls freshmen volleyball team hosts Ludlow in a 4:00 PM match, while the jv and varsity girls volleyball teams travel to Ludlow for play that also begins at 4 PM.    Finally it’s your boys jv and varsity soccer teams getting up to Mahar Regional for games kicking off at 4.  Good luck to all our teams.

Your girls varsity volleyball team improved their record to 6 wins and just 1 loss with a 3 – 0 win over Greenfield last night.  Aurora Garcia, Sydney Barklow and Tyleisia Cooper were solid in the win.  The jv girls took home  a 2 – 1 win in the preliminary.  Amaya Harris, Narah Johnson and Sauna Charles played well in the win.  Your boys varsity soccer team lost a tough 2 – 1 game at South Hadley.  Jovan Wallace had the lone score for the guys. The jv guys lost in a shoot out by an 8 – 5 score.  Kendall Wallace had a three goal afternoon and Riley Miles added two in the loss.  The golf team recorded their first win of the year with a sweep over Central yesterday.  Bryan Trinh was solid on the afternoon.  We have no information on the cross country results.
Today we have the golf team at home against McCann Tech and tomorrow we have the girls volleyball teams traveling to Mahar for a big match up and the girls soccer teams here taking on Central in a 4:00 PM game.  Let’s get out there and fill that stands with Bulldog fans!

Your girls varsity volleyball team improved their season record to 5 wins and just 1 loss after their 3 – 0 win over Duggan Academy yesterday. Sydney Barklow, Cassie Fairman and Tyleishia Cooper led the way for your girls.
 
Today we have the jv and varsity volleyball teams traveling to Greenfield, the boys jv and varsity soccer teams traveling to South Hadley, both cross country teams over at Chicopee State Park and the golf team at home at Veterans golf course.
 
Tomorrow is a light day as we have just the golf team in action and on Friday your girls jv and varsity soccer teams are in action here beginning at 4:00 PM.

t was a big day for Bulldog sports yesterday as your girls varsity volleyball team scored a 3 – 0 win over Athol.  Tyleishia Cooper, Cassie Fairman and Aurora Garcia were solid throughout as the girls continued their winning ways.  The jv girls also recorded the road win in the preliminary game.  Sauna Charles, Daisy Matos and Amaya Harris played well to lead the girls. Your boys varsity soccer team recorded a one-sided win over Greenfield.  Jovan Wallace had 3 goals and an assist to lead the offensive charge.  Anthony Lazzari had 2 goals and an assist in the win.  Davian Alban and James Monts combined for the shutout in the goal.  Your girls varsity soccer team kept their winning ways going with a one-sided win over Renaissance.  Ajianni Blackman had four goals in the win.  Samantha Odom, Gianna Skakowski and Sara Pierce each scored their first varsity goal.  Finally the golf team lost a heartbreaker to Mahar.  Michael Green, Michael Scoville, Colin Consedine, Zariah Green and Alexandria Barnard-Davignon recorded individual points on the afternoon.  
Today the girls varsity volleyball team hosts Duggan Academy here at 4:00 PM.  Outside games and events will be held if the weather cooperates.

Your girls varsity soccer team earned a 2 – 0 win over Mount Everett on Friday. Kayla Brown and Bailey Barlow combined for the shutout in the nets. Kianna Ramos and Jill Megit had a goal apiece to pace the offense. Your girls jv team dropped a 4 – 0 game on Friday as well.
 
The girls’ freshman volleyball team dropped a 2 – 1 match to Granby on Friday in their season opener. Jaylene Lopez, Lanaya Greene and Kayleena Colon played well in the loss.
 
Today we have the boys varsity soccer team here against Greenfield in a 4 pm contest, the girls varsity soccer team over at Marshall Roy against Renaissance School, the jv and varsity volleyball teams getting up to Athol ad the golf team traveling to Mahar. Good luck to all our teams.

Cassie Fairman put on one of the finest all-around displays of team leadership yesterday as the senior hitter served flawlessly to lead the varsity girls volleyball team to a 3 – 0 win over Easthampton yesterday. Fairman went off for 10 aces in the second and third games to ensure the win. Kyra Scott, Sydney Barklow and Aurora Garcia were solid in supporting roles. The jv volleyball team lost in the preliminary match, despite some great defense from Crystal Santana, Kiarah Clue and Daisy Matos. Your boys varsity soccer team opened their season with a 2 – 1 loss at Pioneer Regional. Jovan Wallace scored the lone goal for the guys. Brandon Nguyen, Kendall Wallace and Derrand Brown scored for the jv boys as they earned a 3 – 3 tie at Pioneer. Michael Green, Michael Scoville, Colin Consedine and Zariah Green recorded individual points, but the golf team fell to Mohawk Trail by a score of 14.5 to 9.5 yesterday. Finally both the girls snd boys cross country teams had a win and a loss in their tai-school meets yesterday, Jared Denson finished first for your Bulldogs as the guys beat Renaissance, while freshman Nadia Nowicki finished first for her team and fourth overall. Alina Cantella, Adriana Carmona, Stephanie Bergman and Grace Blase rounded out the top five finishers for the girls.
 
Today the girls freshman volleyball team opens their season here with a 4:00 PM game against Granby High and the girls jv and varsity soccer teams travel out to the Berkshires for a game at Mt. Everett. Good luck to all our teams!

JV Volleyball lost to Pioneer Valley Regional High School despite 11 aces by Elizabeth Villa and 4 aces and 4 kills by Sauna Charles. Sydney Barklow, Tyleishia Cooper and Kyra Scott were outstanding as your girls varsity volleyball team earned a 3 – 1 win at Pioneer Valley Regional High School. The girls dropped the first game and then swept in the next three to earn the league win. The boys varsity soccer game was postponed due to the weather. Today we have both Cross Country teams over at Forest Park, the golf team getting back into action with a match at Veterans, the boys soccer teams traveling up to Pioneer Regional and the girls volleyball teams hosting Easthampton.
 
We will close out the week tomorrow with the girls freshman volleyball team opening their season here with a 4:00 PM game against Granby High and the girls jv and varsity soccer teams traveling out to the Berkshires for a game at Mt. Everett. Good luck to all our teams!

Your golf team opened their season yesterday as they dropped a league match at Pathfinder.  Michael Green was solid as he took home the top honors on the afternoon with an individual win.  Both the jv and varsity girls soccer teams lost one-sided games at South Hadley yesterday.  Danae Holmes ad Ellie Gaudet were solid defensively in the jv game.
Today the boys varsity soccer team hopes to open their season with a home game against Sci-Tech and your jv and varsity volleyball teams travel to Pioneer Valley Regional for games beginning at 4:00 PM.  Tomorrow the Cross Country teams get things going over at Forest Park, the golf team gets back into action with a match at Veterans, the boys soccer teams travels up to Pioneer Regional and the girls volleyball teams will host Easthampton.

Daily Announcement

Girls Volleyball opened with a JV and Varsity sweep over Mohawk Regional yesterday.  JV started with strong team serving led by Kiarah Clue (10 aces) and Amaya Harris (7 aces).  Tabitha Picot (2 kills) and Jillian Lavendar (1 kill) were solid at the net.  Cassie Fairman was solid all around as your girls varsity volleyball team earned a 3 – 0 win over Mohawk Trail Regional High School yesterday.  Fairman had 3 assists, 5 aces and 7 kills.  She also provided a leadership presence on the floor as she repeatedly settled her teammates and helped them quiet the Mohawk attack.  Angie Gonzalez, Brianna Martinez, Aurora Garcia and Kate Phommasith were also solid in the win. All games scheduled for today with Springfield Public schools have been postponed.  Practice schedules have been announced by each coach.  A full slate of games is scheduled for next week.  We hope to see you in the stands.

Daily Announcement – 9/6/18

Congratulations to your girls varsity soccer team on their 3 – 1 win over Smith Vocational yesterday.  Gianna Skakowski, Ajianni Blackman and Sydney Borders scored for the girls, while Cabielyn Gagnon stopped seven shots in the nets.  Today your girls jv and varsity volleyball teams open their season with the jv game beginning at 4:00 PM.
The golf match scheduled for today has been postponed.
The boys jv and varsity soccer teas will practice immediately after school at 10:30 and will continue until noon.  the girls soccer teams have cancelled their practices.
We will announce other team plans as they become available.
Remember – pizza will be sold tomorrow during all lunch periods for grades 6 through 12.  The cost is just $1.50 per slice.

2018 Fall Sport Try Outs

Boys soccer:  Th, F, Sat:  10:00 am – noon

Girls soccer:  Th, F:  3:00 – 5:00 PM, Sat:  Noon – 2:00 PM

Volleyball:  Th, F:  5:00 – 7:30 PM

Golf:  Th:  1:45 at practice green

Cross Country:  Th, F:  4:00 – 6:00 PM, Sat, Sun:  9:00 – 11:00 AM

All sessions will take place on campus except the weekend of cross country which will be held at Forest Park and Golf which will be held at Veterans.

Daily Announcement (5/30/18)

Danielle Atayah won at third singles and the doubles teams swept their matches as the girls varsity tennis team earned a 3 – 2 win over PVCA to record an undefeated league championship title.  Angie Gonzalez and Rhayanna Shubrick won at first doubles and Katie Sharpe and Nyah Seago took home the point at second doubles to secure the win.  The girls now wait for the team tournament seeding meeting to learn where and when they will play their opening round match in the MIAA team event.

 

Daily Announcement (5/29/18)

Your varsity softball team earned an exciting come from behind win over first place McCann Tech on Friday by a score of 9 – 7.  Kayla Brown had five hits, while Amanda Odom and Alyssa Padilla provided additional offensive support and Jayden Dow earned the victory within the circle.  The girls completed their regular season with a school record 16 wins against just 4 losses and they will wait for next week’s seeding meeting for the MIAA tournament.  The jv girls, led by Kailene Davis, dropped their game to McCann on Friday.  Your boys varsity volleyball team fell to Minnechaug by a 3 – 1 score on Friday, but the guys clinched another undefeated year of league play and a second consecutive league championship.  Now the guys get ready for their tournament appearance next week.  Evan Tran, Davian Alban and James Ribeiro each played well as the jv volleyball team closed out their season with a 2 – 1 loss on Friday.

 

Daily Announcement (5/24/18)

Amanda Odom had a 3 RBI afternoon, but the varsity softball team dropped an 8 – 4 game at Hopkins Academy yesterday.  Odom, Kayla Brown, and Jayden Dow led the offensive effort and Jada Ficarra pitched well enough to win, but a few defensive and base running lapses got in the way as the girls dropped the league contest.  Amerie Krautler pitched well for the jv softball team, but they also fell to Hopkins yesterday afternoon.

Daily Announcement (5/23/18)

Your boys’ varsity track and field team completed their season yesterday dropping their league matchup with West Springfield.  Nehemiah Johnson took home top honors in both the 100 and 200 meter dash, while Siare Barklow took home the top honors in the 400 meter hurdles.  Elijah Nixon had a triple double as he recorded top finishes in the triple jump, the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400 meter relays.  All other outside events were postponed yesterday due to the weather.  Today we have the softball teams traveling to Hopkins Academy and both baseball teams getting out to Lee High School. Your tournament bound girls varsity tennis team took home a 5 – 0 win over Renaissance School yesterday as Emma Smith, Remie Jerard and Danielle Attayan swept the singles play and Angie Gonzalez and Beyonca Twiggs won at first doubles and Katie Sharpe and Nyah Seago took home the win at second doubles.  Kayla Brown ad Aurora Garcia had home runs, while Brown, Alyssa Padilla and Amanda Odom had multi-hit games to lead the offensive attack as your varsity softball team took a win over Gateway yesterday.  In the jv game it was Amerie Krautler and Kailene Davis leading the way to their road win.  The jv baseball team dropped a crisply played 4 – 0 game at Southwick.  Good luck to all our teams this afternoon.

Congratulations to your boys’ varsity volleyball team on their 3 – 0 win over Commerce on senior day.  The guys were able to complete their regular season league schedule with a 10 win, no loss record as this was their second consecutive undefeated season in their league.  It was also senior day for the guys and seniors Dylan Hibbert, Joseph Torres and Darith Soeun paced the guys to their win.  The guys close out their regular season later this week when thy travel to Minnechaug and then they await the tournament seedings to see who they will play in the opening round of the MIAA tournament.  Congratulations also to your varsity softball team as they recorded their own senior day win over Putnam on Friday by a score of 10 – 5.  Seniors Alyssa Padilla, Bianca Marrero and Hannah Brooks played their final regular season home game and each contributed to the team win.  Jada Ficarra turned in a superb relief effort as the junior right hander pitched out of big trouble in the 5th inning to save the win for the girls.  Kayla Brown and Bailey Barlow were solid offensively for the girls.  Congratulations also goes to your girls varsity tennis team as they took a 4 – 1 win over Palmer on Friday.  The girls swept the singles matches with Emma Smith, Remie Jerard and Danielle Atayan sweeping there, while the second doubles team of Beyonca Twiggs and Katie Sharpe also took home a point to pace the girls.
Today we have the girls softball teams traveling to Gateway, the baseball teams traveling to Southwick and the girls’ tennis team gets over to Van Horn Park to take on Renaissance School in a 4 pm start.
Attention all students in grades 6 – 11.  Today is the informational meeting for those of you interested in golf next fall.  Meetings will be held during both Student Life periods in room 220.  The family ID website will open on June 1st for all sports. So remember if you are interested in playing on a fall team you must register on the family ID website.  See any of the coaches for more details.

Congratulations to your girls varsity tennis team on their win over St. Mary’s High School yesterday.  Remie Jerard and Danielle Atayah won at second and third singles, while the girls swept both doubles matches for the 4 –  team win.  Your varsity baseball team lost  a tough game to St. Mary’s yesterday despite a solid offensive afternoon from Trey Faulkner and James Gonzalez.  Today we have the varsity softball and boys’ varsity volleyball teams holding their annual senior day in events beginning at 4:00PM, your girls tennis team is entertaining Palmer High at Forest Park and the jv baseball team travels to St. Mary’s in Westfield.  Today is also the Western Mass championship meet for both the boys and girls track and field teams.  Good luck to all our student athletes.

Daily Announcement (5/17/18)

Your varsity softball team surrendered just three runs yesterday afternoon, but the girls only managed to push two runs across the plate and they dropped a 3 – 2 league contest to Smith Academy.  Jayden Dow recorded 15 strikeouts while scattering eight hits and Madeline Wyszynski was solid offensively with two hits and a walk to lead the girls.  Your varsity baseball team dropped an 8 – 2 game to Monson.

Daily Announcement (5/16/18)

All outdoor athletic events were postponed yesterday.  Your varsity volleyball team dropped an exciting match to Ludlow by a 3 – 2 score.  Ki-sean Johnson, Darith Soeun and Aaron Williams paced the guys, but it wasn’t quite enough as they dropped the 5th and final set of play.  The guys continue their undefeated league play however and they remain 6th in the top 10 volleyball team rankings across all of Western Mass.
Today we have a full slate of athletic events as the boys and girls track teams enter the All-City meet at Central this afternoon and both the baseball and softball teams are here beginning at 4:00 PM, Tomorrow we have the varsity baseball team and the girls’ tennis teams each entertaining St. Mary’s High.  Good luck to all. Your varsity volleyball team played host to league rivals Holyoke and they came away with a   3 – 0 win as they further separated themselves atop the league standings. The guys have been on an absolute roll lately winning their last 8 matches, including yesterday’s win, over a league rival.   Aaron Williams, Esias Valentin, Ki-Sean Johnson and Dylan Hibbert led the way in yesterday’s win.  Congratulations to your varsity baseball team as they recorded a one-sided win over Duggan.  Dariel Santana was solid on the mound and James Gonzalez and Justin Pierce were paced the offensive charge as the guys recorded their third win of the season.  Your girls tennis team took a 4 – 1 win over Frontier yesterday at Forest Park.  Remi Jerad and Danielle Atayah had singles wins in the team victory.  Today, if the weather cooperates we have varsity softball, both baseball teams and both volleyball teams here at home, while the girls tennis team and both track teams take to the road.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans!
