Samantha Townsend scored off a corner kick with less than one minute to go as your girls varsity soccer team earned a 1 – 1 draw against Central High School last night.  Kayla Brown had 15 saves in the nets and Zoe Stevens and Sarah Ledoux stymied Central’s leading scorer all night with outstanding defensive efforts.  Your boys varsity soccer team ended their regular season with a one-sided loss to Central in the earlier game.  The loss leaves the guys just one point shy of earning a trip to the MIAA tournament.  The jv guys dropped an afternoon game at Central as well.  Today it’s our final soccer game of the season as the jv girls travel to Central for a 4:00 PM contest.  The cross country teams will compete in the PVIAC meet on Saturday.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Informational meetings have been held for boys and girls basketball and for cheerleading for students in grades 7 – 12 wanting to try out for a winter season athletic team.  You must have a recent physical exam on file with the athletic trainer and you must be academically eligible.  The meeting for wrestling will be held during Student Life Activity period on Thursday of this week.

 Registration is now open for all winter sport teams on the family ID website.

Daily Announcement (10/24)

Your girls jv soccer team scored a 2 – 1 win over Easthampton yesterday thanks to two goals from Samantha Odom.  Odom, who scored off assists from Amani Smith, received excellent play from Riley Sanderson, Danae Holmes and Mikayla Pouliot.  The varsity took a tough loss to Easthampton after surrendering two goals in the final five minutes of play.  Ajianni Blackman scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal and Kayla Brown had 12 saves in the nets.  The boys varsity soccer team suffered a similar fate as they surrendered two goals in the final nine minutes of play to fall by a 3 – 2 score at Mahar.  Chase Lamagdalaine and Dylan Hibbert recorded the goals for the guys.  The jv guys also dropped their contest at Mahar by a 3 – 1 score.    Your girls varsity volleyball team fell to Belchertown by a 3 – 1 score.  Hannah Brooks, Cassie Fairman and Emilly Howie were solid in the loss.  Your jv volleyball team took a 3 – 0 win at Belchertown thanks to a solid full squad style of play.  Finally the cross country teams had a solid afternoon after the guys took home wins against Chicopee and Renaissance, while the girls recorded a split.  Adriana Carmona took home top honors for your girls, while Nadia Nowicki finished 8th overall to lead the girls.  No games are scheduled for today, while tomorrow we have the girls soccer teams over at Longmeadow and the boys’ varsity soccer team travelling to Mohawk.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

There were no athletic games scheduled yesterday.  Today we have the girls soccer teams here against South Hadley beginning at 4:00 PM.  Tomorrow it’s your girls freshmen volleyball team travelling to Longmeadow High School for a full day of exhibition matches. Monday we have the girls soccer teams here against Easthampton High and it’s senior day for the varsity.  We also have the cross country teams at Forest Park for a meet with Chicopee and Renaissance.  Monday also will see the girls volleyball teams getting over to Belchertown and the boys soccer teams travelling to Mahar Regional High School.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to your boys varsity soccer team on their one-sided win over Greenfield yesterday.  Jovan Wallace had a goal and two assists and Dylan Hibbert had two goals and one assist to lead the offensive charge. Dariel Santana and Kisean Johnson combined to earn the shutout in the nets.  Your girls varsity volleyball team played well, but they couldn’t close things out in the 5th and deciding set as they fell to Athol by a 3 – 2 score.  Zhalyn Burton had 30 digs on the afternoon, while Hannah Brooks, Genevieve Wellington and Cassie Fairman played well in the loss.  The jv girls volleyball team earned a straight set win over Athol in the preliminary match.  Tabitha Picot and Lela Ficarra were solid to lead the girls.  Today we have the golf team closing out their regular season with a home match against McCann Tech, the cross country teams entertaining Northampton and South Hadley and the girls varsity soccer team over at Renaissance.  Tomorrow we have the girls volleyball teams entertaining Greenfield here beginning at 4:00 PM, and the boys’ soccer teams travelling out to Gateway for a double header under the lights.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 3 – 1 contest here against Granby on Friday.  Ajianni Blackman scored the Bulldog lone goal, from a Sydney Borders assist.  Kayla Brown was solid in the nets. The JV girls earned a hard fought 1 – 1 tie as the only goal they surrendered was off a second half PK.  Samantha Odom scored the Bulldog goal as she was assisted by Amani Smith. The varsity volleyball team came back from a 2 – 0 deficit to tie the match against Chicopee, but they couldn’t finish the come from behind storyline as they dropped a 3 – 2 exciting match.  The jv also fell 2 – 1 to Chicopee.  Jillian Lavender and Kylie Hatten were solid throughout.  The freshmen volleyball team recorded a 3 – 0 sweep at Chicopee.  Amaya Harris, Crystal Santana and Cearra Rivera paced the girls to the win.  Today it’s the boys’ varsity soccer team hosting Greenfield and the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams entertaining Athol in the main gym.  Tomorrow we have the golf team closing out their regular season with a home match against McCann Tech, the cross country teams entertaining Northampton and South Hadley and the girls varsity soccer team over at Renaissance.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

It was a tough day for Bulldog athletic teams yesterday as the boys and girls cross country teams each fell to Belchertown on the road yesterday.  The girls, depleted by a series of nagging injuries were led by Tanialyz Almenas who finished 4th overall.  She was followed by Adriana Carmona and Stephanie Bergman to round out the top three Bulldog runners.  The boys were led by Stephan Heathman, 4th overall, and Nick Audette, 9thoverall.  Amadi Pendleton, Kevin West and Jahmal Campbell also ran solid races for the guys.  The boys varsity soccer team dropped a competitive game to Lenox High School despite solid play in the nets by Kisean Johnson. The jv guys lost 4 – 3, despite two goals from Johnny Rusinque and a singleton from Justin Pierce.  The lone bright spot yesterday was the freshmen girls’ volleyball teams’ come from behind win at Central.  Zhane Holmes-Murphy and Narah Johnson played well to lead the girls.  Finally, it was the varsity golf team who lost a close match to Mohawk Trail yesterday.  Jaelyn DeBoise was the overall medalist.  Haley Long also earned an individual win on the afternoon.  Today our girls volleyball teams have a triple header in the main gym with the freshmen match getting things started a 3:00 PM.  The girls soccer teams travel to Amherst for games beginning at 4:00 PM.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Jaelyn DeBosie topped all your Bulldog scorers, but the varsity golf team dropped their match at Franklin Tech yesterday afternoon.  DeBosie shot a 45 to win at the top spot and Haley Long also entered the scoring column at number three.  Bryan Trinh recorded his personal best in an away match in the loss.  Your girls’ varsity soccer team dropped a one-sided contest at Monson yesterday.  Kayla Brown had nine saves in the nets.  The jv also lost to Monson.  Jaslyn Pham was solid.  Both the girls and boys cross country team finished behind Longmeadow and West Springfield in a tri-school meet yesterday.  Tanilalyz Almenas was 8th overall to lead our girls, while Sara Miranda, Eliza Mullin, Nadia Nowicki and Adriana Carmona rounded out the top five finishers.  On the boys side it was Stephan Heathman taking home top Bulldog honors with Nic Audette, Amadi Pendleton, Antonio Rivera and Jahmal Campbell each making a strong showing on the afternoon.   Today your golf team entertains Central and the jv and varsity volleyball teams are home against Ware.  Tomorrow we have the boys’ soccer teams here beginning at 4:00 PM and on Friday it’s the girls freshmen volleyball team in the main gym and both girls soccer teams entertaining Southwick here on campus, while the jv and varsity volleyball teams travel to undefeated Turners Falls.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Jovan Wallace, Dylan Hibbert and Elijah Nixon each scored a goal as your boys’ varsity soccer team earned a hard fought 3-1 win over Sci-Tech here yesterday afternoon.  Wallace and Hibbert each added an assist and Dariel Santana, Anthony Lazarri and Alex Williams were solid defensively.  The varsity volleyball team kept it close, but they fell in straight sets at Mahar yesterday.  Kate Phommasith, Cassie Fairman and Zhalyn Burton played well in the loss.  The jv took home a 3 – 0 win in the preliminary match.  Brianna Martinez, Jillian Lavender, Jaida Bednaz and Sauna Charles each played well in the victory.  Today we have the cross country teams over at West Springfield, the golf team getting up to Franklin Tech and the girls’ soccer teams travelling to Monson.  Tomorrow your golf team entertains Central and the jv and varsity volleyball teams are home against Ware.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 2 – 1 contest to Hampshire Regional yesterday as Jillian Megit scored late in the game.  Kayla Brown had 13 saves and Tatiana Skarzynski had an assist to lead the girls to a very solid second half of play.  The jv girls lost to Hampshire Regional by a 4 -2 score.  Sam Odom led the offensive attack and Mikayla Lewis and Elizabeth Guyette were solid all-around for the girls.   No games are scheduled for today, but tomorrow we have all three volleyball teams getting things going with the 9:00 AM freshmen game.  JV and varsity will follow.  The girls soccer teams get things going at 10:00 AM and the cross country teams will have their race start right around 11:45 AM.  Finally we have both boys soccer teams wrapping things up at 1:00 PM .  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 3 – 1 contest at Holyoke High last night.  Tatiana Skarzynski scored the lone goal and Kayla Brown had nine saves in the nets, but it wasn’t enough for the girls.  The jv team fell by a 3 – 0 score in the preliminary.  Grace Blasé, Samantha Odom and Kailie Methe were solid in the loss.  The golf team fell to McCann Tech on the road yesterday.  Jaelyn DeBoise recorded the best score for the Bulldogs.  The boys cross country split their tri-meet yesterday earning a win over Dugan and falling to Central.  Stephan Heathman took home the top honors for the guys, while Nic Audette, Amadi Pendleton, Jahmal Cambelll and Antonio Rivera rounded out the top five.   Today it’s all three girls’ volleyball teams travelling to Holyoke for games beginning at 4:00 PM and tomorrow we have Hampshire Regional here against both our girl soccer teams with 4:00 PM games.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to your varsity golf team on their win over Westfield Technical Academy yesterday afternoon.  Jaelyn DeBosie took home the medal once again as the 8th grader carded a 44 to lead the team to the win.  It was a clean sweep for the team as DeBoise, Michael Green, Haley Long, Colin Consedine, Bryan Trinh and Alexandria Barnard-Davignon each scored points in the overall team victory.  Today it’s the girls soccer teams entertaining Central High School with games beginning at 4:00 PM and the girls’ freshmen volleyball team getting over to Central for a 4:00 PM start as well.  Tomorrow the cross country team is participating in a multi-school event.

Josh Dunkelly recorded a hat trick to lead the boys’ junior varsity soccer team to a 3 – 2 win over Pioneer Valley Regional yesterday.  Dunkelly’s three goals came off assists from Justin Pierece (2) and Anthony Britt (1).  The varsity earned a hard fought 3 – 3 draw as Jovan Wallace had two first-half goals and Chase Lamagdelaine added the third.  Noah Valentine had an assist and Gabe Sanchez, Alex Williams and Erik Bass anchored a solid defensive effort.  Your boys’ cross country team dropped a pair of races yesterday to Chicopee Comp and Putnam.  The guys had strong performances from Stephan Heathman, Nic Audette, Souleymane Diaby, Kevin West, Daneion Blake and Brent Pieczarka.  Your varsity volleyball team fell in straight sets to Easthampton, despite a solid team effort.  Emilly Howie had 11 assists, while Aurora Garcia and Lauren Hunter were solid at the net.  The jv dropped their match by a 2-1 score.  Genevieve Wellington led the team effort.  Today we have the golf team entertaining Westfield Technical Academy at Veterans’ Golf Course and tomorrow it’s the girls soccer teams entertaining Central High School with games beginning at 4:00 PM.  We also have the girls’ freshmen volleyball team getting over to Central.

Congratulations to your girls varsity volleyball team on their 3 – 0 sweep of Duggan Academy yesterday.  Zhalyn Burton had nine aces and Tyleisia Cooper had five kills to lead the girls to their convincing win.  Tre Hodge scored the Bulldog’s only goal off an assist from Jovan Wallace, but the boys varsity soccer team fell to Smith Academy by a 4 – 1 score.  The jv guys got two goals from Josh Dunkelly and one from Austin Le to take a 3 – 1 win in the preliminary.  Stephan Heathman took home top overall honors as the boys cross country team took home a win over Sci-Tech.  Amadi Pendleton, Nick Audette, Souleymane Diaby and Kevin West scored points to help seal the Bulldog win.  Your girls cross country team also defeated Sci-Tech as Sara Miranda, Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin, and Nadia Norwicki finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th overall to ensure the team win.  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a one-sided contest at Agawam.  Today we have the golf team taking on Central and tomorrow we have the jv and varsity volleyball teams over at Chicopee, while the freshmen team is in the main gym at 4:00 PM.  Your golf team will travel to Pathfinder to round out the week.

Jaelyn DeBoise shot a 41 to take home the best overall score, but your varsity golf team fell to Franklin Tech in the opening match of the season.  Michael Green and Isabella Escribano also recorded points for the Bulldogs.  The girls freshman volleyball team dropped a tightly contest 3 – 0 match at Minnechaug.
Today the corss country teams open things up at Forest Park, while the girls varsity soccer team travels to Agawam for a 6:00 pm game.  The girls varsity volleyball team will entertain Duggan here beginning at 4:00 PM.

Josh Dunkelly scored two goals, but it wasn’t enough as your boys’ jv soccer team dropped a  5 – 2 game to Palmer.  The varsity dropped a one-sided game to Palmer as well.  The girls’ varsity volleyball team was swept by South Hadley, while the jv girls dropped a closely contested 2 – 1 match in the preliminary.  Brianna Martinez, Nia Major and Genevieve Wellington were solid in the loss.   Your girls varsity soccer team fell by a score of 4 – 1 to South Hadley.  Kayla Brown had 16 saves and Sydney Borders scored the lone goal in the loss.  The jv girls dropped a 4 – 0 contest as Grace Blasé, Cabielyn Gagnon, Lynn Goodchild and Amani Smith gave good efforts.  The only team to earn a win yesterday was your freshmen girls volleyball team as they took a 2 – 1 win over South Hadley in their first ever match.  Coach Laflamme called the win a team effort!  Today your girls’ freshmen volleyball team travels to Minnechaug and the golf team opens up against Franklin Tech over at Veterans.  Tomorrow it’s opening day for the Cross Country teams as they are at Forest Park.  Other Wednesday contests include the varsity volleyball team at Duggan, the boys’ soccer teams at Smith Academy and the girls varsity soccer team travelling to Agawam.

The boys’ varsity soccer team dropped a 1 – 0 game to Sci-Tech on Friday under the lights at Berte Field.  Today all three girls volleyball teams travel to South Hadley as do both girls soccer teams.  The boys – jv and varsity soccer teams are here at the school in games beginning at 4:00 PM.  Tomorrow your girls freshmen volleyball team travels to Minnechaug and the golf team opens up against Franklin Tech over at Veterans.  On Wednesday it’s opening day for the Cross Country teams as they are at Forest Park.  Other Wednesday contests include the varsity volleyball team at Duggan, the boys’ soccer teams at Smith Academy and the girls varsity soccer team travelling to Agawam.

There were no athletic events scheduled for yesterday and today your girls varsity soccer team entertains Renaissance and the volleyball team goes on the road to Mohawk.  Both contests begin at 4:00 PM.   The boys’ and girls cross country teams will have a scrimmage type run over at Forest Park this afternoon as well.  Tomorrow it’s the boys soccer team over to Sci-Tech for a 6:00 PM game under the lights.

Daily Update

On Sunday both the boys and girls cross country teams will enter the MIAA championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Good luck to both our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

We will hold an open gym again today for boys in grades 9 – 12 interested in basketball from  3 – 5 pm.  Open gym for girls in grades 7 – 12 interested in conditioning will also be held today from 5 – 7 pm.  Conditioning for wrestling will also meet today from 3 – 4:30 pm.  The conditioning schedule next week has the boys basketball group in grades 7 – 12 on Monday and Thursday from 3 – 5 and the girls in grades 7 – 12 on Monday and Thursday from 5 – 7 PM.  Open gym times for wrestling candidates will also be on Monday and Thursday next week from 3 – 4:30 PM.  Those will be the final open gym times prior to the tryout sessions for the winter athletic seasons.

Attention all students – if you plan to try out for a winter season sport you must register now on the family ID website.  Please do not wait until the last moment to register as we may be unable to confirm medical clearance if you wait until the final week to register.  If we cannot obtain medical clearance you will not be able to attend a tryout session.  Tryouts for cheerleading will begin on Monday, November 21st, while tryouts for wrestling and basketball will be held one week later beginning on November 28th.

The fall athletic season awards ceremony will be held on Monday, November 21st.  All are welcome to attend.

Attention all students – if you plan to try out for a winter season sport you must register now on the family ID website.  Please do not wait until the last moment to register as we may be unable to confirm medical clearance if you wait until the final week to register.  Tryouts for cheerleading will begin on Monday, November 21st, while tryouts for wrestling and basketball will be held one week later beginning on November 28th.

We will hold an open gym for boys in grades 9 – 12 interested in basketball this afternoon and tomorrow from 3 – 5 pm.  Open gym for girls in grades 7 – 12 interested in conditioning for basketball will also be held today and tomorrow from 5 – 7 pm.  Conditioning for wrestling will also meet today and tomorrow from 3 – 4:30 pm.

The fall athletic season awards ceremony will be held on Monday, November 21st.  All are welcome to attend.

Emma Smith scored the game winner about six minutes into the overtime period and your girls varsity soccer team took a 2 – 1 win over Renaissance School on Friday to advance in the MIAA regional soccer tournament.  Smith scored off an assist from Avalon Mateo who also scored the game’s first goal.  Kayla Brown was solid in the nets and Franchesca Diaz anchored a successful defensive effort.  The girls get back at it today with a 2:00 PM contest at Granby High.  Congratulations to your girls cross country team for their repeat win in the All-City meet on Friday.  An’janae Washington earned the first place overall medal as she bettered her own course record by three seconds.  She was followed in the top ten overall by Tanialyz Almenas and Eliza Mullin.  At the PVIAC championship race on Saturday, An’janae once again led the girls as she finished 10th overall (out of 205 runners) and she shaved over 30 seconds off her previous best time at Stanley Park.  For the boys it was Stephan Heathman who finished 11th overall in the All-City race as he broke the 20 minute mark with a time of 19:45.  Over the weekend it was Stephan, Nick Audette and Amadi Pendleton who each turned in sub-20 minute times in the PVIAC championships.  Today the girls volleyball teams travel to Lee High School for the next round of play in their MIAA tournament and on Sunday both the boys and girls cross country teams are set to enter the MIAA championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls’ varsity volleyball team opens their MIAA tournament schedule tonight at 6:30 PM against Turners Falls.  The game will be played in the primary school gym and the doors will open at 5:30 PM.  Admission for the first round tournament game will be $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students.  We are expecting a large crowd and we may not be able to fit everyone in the gym.  Please arrive early.  The girls’ soccer team opens their own MIAA tournament schedule tomorrow here at the school with a 3:00 PM game against the Renaissance School.  Admission is free and we are hoping for a large crowd.  Why not remain after school and head out to the varsity soccer field and cheer our girls on to a win.  The boys and girls cross country teams will enter the City Championships on Friday and the PVIAC meet on Saturday.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

An’Janae Washington took home top honors as your girls cross country team defeated Chicopee High in an exciting 28 – 29 race yesterday.  Washington was joined by Tanialyz Almenas (2nd overall), Eliza Mullin (6th) and Sara Miranda (7th overall with her personal best) to round out the top ten finishers.  The boys cross country team was shorthanded yesterday and they lost to Chicopee.  Nathan Colon finished second overall, while Jacob Evans was 8th for the guys.  Avalon Mateo had a goal and two assists as the girls varsity soccer team inched closer to an MIAA tournament invitation with a 4 – 3 win over Hampshire Regional last night.  Kayla Brown had 19 saves in the nets.  Tatiana Skarzynski, Frankie Diaz and Kailey Elmasion also recorded goals for the girls.  The jv soccer team fell 1 – 0 in the preliminary game.  The girls varsity volleyball team dropped their match to Ludlow in straight sets.  Remani Lizana and Markina Ako-Brew played well in the loss.  The jv girls fell 2 – 1 in the preliminary match.  Vanessa Williams and LeAudra Hayes-Phillips were solid in the loss.  Finally both the varsity and jv boys soccer teams lost to Lenox on the road yesterday.  Alex Williams scored the only goal for the guys.  There are no games scheduled today, while on Monday we will have the girls’ volleyball and the girls soccer teams each playing games here at school.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Premere Long scored the game’s only goal early in the second half as your boys varsity soccer team took a 1 – 0 win over Easthampton last night.  Shayne Audet recorded the shutout in the nets.  The win keeps the guys tournament hopes alive as they improved their season record to     6 – 8 – 1.  The jv guys lost in the preliminary by a score of 4 – 2.  Gabriel Gray and Jeremy Townsend scored the Bulldog goals.  The golf team closed out their season with a loss against Hopkins Academy.  Austin Benoit recorded the low score of the afternoon for Sabis.  Today no events are scheduled and tomorrow we have the volleyball teams here against Ludlow High and the cross country teams at Forest Park.  All four soccer teams will be on the road.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
