Your girls varsity volleyball team gave a solid showing, but they fell in straight sets to Agawam here last night.  Remani Lizana and Markina Ako-Brew played well in the loss.  The jv girls dropped a 2 – 1 match in the preliminary.  Lauren Hunter and Vanessa Williams gave solid defensive efforts.  Today we have the boys’ soccer teams travelling to Easthampton and the golf team at Hopkins.  Tomorrow no events are scheduled and on Thursday we have the volleyball teams here against Ludlow High and the cross country teams at Forest Park.  All four soccer teams will be on the road.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

 Attention all students.  The winter athletic season is just around the corner and information sessions for all winter sport teams will be held as follows:  Cheerleading – this Thursday in the computer lab, Wrestling next week on October 24th, boys’ basketball on October 26th and girls basketball on October 27th.  All meetings next week will be held during your Student Life period.  The exact locations for both basketball meetings and for wrestling will be announced as it gets closer.  The family ID website is now open and you are welcome to register for a winter sport on the site.

Markina Ako-Brew played an inspirational final set as your girls’ varsity volleyball team earned a 3 – 2 win over Turners Falls last night and inched closer to a tournament invitation.  Ako-Brew, Mykaela DeBrito, Remani Lizana and Julia Guilbert were solid in the win.  The jv lost a close 2 – 1 match in the preliminary.  Brianna Martinez played well all around.  Your girls’ cross country team split their competitions yesterday as they defeated Franklin Tech and lost to Mohawk Trail.  Your girls placed four girls in the top ten led by An’janae Washington (4th), Tanialyz Almenas (5th), Eliza Mullin (7th) and Sara Miranda (8th).  Your boys picked up wins over Franklin Tech and Hopkins and they lost to Mohawk.  Nick Audette, Amadi Pendleton and Stephan Heathman each finished in the top 10 overall.  Your golf team dropped a close match to Pathfinder.  Austin Benoit recorded the low score of the day for your Bulldogs.  The girls’ varsity soccer team dropped a 4 – 2 game at Palmer, while the jv team took a 5 – 3 win in the preliminary game.  Aniyah Forbes (3 goals) and Ajianni Blackman (2 goals) accounted for all the scoring.  Today it’s both the boys’ soccer teams and the girls volleyball teams here at home, while the golf team holds their final home match of the season at Veterans.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls’ varsity soccer team dropped a 1 – 0 game to Central on Friday, while the junior varsity earned a 0 – 0 tie.  Bailey Barlow, Grace Blase, Amanda Odom, Grace Wells, and Jaslyn Pham were solid in the draw.  Your boys varsity soccer team dropped a 3 – 0 game at Monson, while the junior varsity took home a one-sided win.  Today we have the girls’ soccer teams travelling to Palmer for games at 5 and 7 pm, while the girls’ volleyball teams are here in the back gym against Turners Falls beginning at 5:00 pm.  The cross country teams will travel to Mohawk and the golf team is on the road against Pathfinder Regional.  Tomorrow it’s both the boys’ soccer teams and the girls volleyball teams here at home, while the golf team holds their final home match of the season at Veterans.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Seventh-grader Jaelyn DeBois carded a career best 43, but your varsity golf team dropped a one point match to Smith Academy yesterday.  Austin Benoit also had a 43 and Colin Fairman a 45 in the senior day event.  Earlier in the day DeBoise and Haley Long played well in the Western Mass Girls’ Golf Tournament, while today Michael Bushey and Benoit compete in the boys’ event.  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a heartbreaker to Central by a 1 – 0  score, while the jv girls lost 3 – 0 in the preliminary.  Today the boys’ soccer teams travel to Monson and the girls’ soccer teams travel to Easthampton.  All games begin at 4:00 PM.  On Monday the cross country teams compete in a state-wide charter school event.  Good luck to all.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

An’janae Washington won her 6th consecutive race this season, but your girls cross country team dropped their meet at Belchertown yesterday.  Tanialyz Alemenas (4th overall) and Brianna Alvarado (9th overall) took home top 10 finishes.  Your boys’ cross country team split their tri-meet defeating Westfield Voke and taking the loss against Belchertown.  Nick Audette and Amadi Pendleton finished 1-2 for the guys.  The girls varsity volleyball team was swept by Lenox yesterday, while the jv girls dropped a 2-1 match in the opener.  Lauren Hunter and Tylesia Cooper paced the offense, while Angelica Colon and Vanessa Williams led the defense.  Your boys’ varsity soccer team fell 4 – 0 to Southwick despite some solid overall play by Jovan Wallace, Steven McKenzie, Medhi Akram and Sylvain Audet. Tatiana Skarzynski and Avalon Mateo scored the goals and Sarah Ledoux had an assist as the girls’ varsity soccer team earned their 5th win of the season with a 2 – 0 score over Pope Francis High School.  Kayla Brown had the shutout in the nets as your girls move closer to earning the MIAA tournament invitation.  The jv girls took home a 3 – 1 win with solid performances by Bailey Barlow, Elizabeth Guyette, Riley Sanderson, Jaslyn Pham and Danae Holmes.  Today it’s a full slate of contests as the golf team will entertain Ware High School, the cross country teams travel to Belchertown, the girls volleyball teams get out to Lenox and the boys soccer teams travel to Southwick High.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Premere Long had two goals and Nathan Reed added the third as your boys varsity soccer team beat South Hadley by a score of 3 – 1 yesterday.  Jovan Wallace, James, Gonzalez, and Gabe Perez anchored the defensive effort, while Steven McKenzie and Sylvain Audet were solid all around.  The jv boys soccer team kept their undefeated season alive as they earned a 3 – 0 win over South Hadley.  Alex Williams, Josh Dunkelly and Elijah Nixon scored and Tre Hodge and Justin Pierce played well in the win.  Avalon Mateo scored all four goals as your girls varsity soccer team beat Lee High School by a 4 – 0 score.  Kayla Brown and Cheyenne Daniels combined for the shutout in the nets.  The jv girls took a 2 – 1 win thanks to goals by Ajianni Blackman and Ta’keeyla Jackson.  Riley Sanderson, Lela Ficarra and Amanda Odom were solid all around.  Your girls varsity volleyball team took a close 3 – 2 win over Easthampton yesterday, while the jv, paced by Lauren Hunter and Jaida Bednaz took a 2 – 1 win in the preliminary.  The golf team dropped their match to Granby.  Your girls cross country team suffered their first loss of the season against Chicopee Comp, but An’janae Washington and Tanialyz Almenas finished first and second overall in the race.  It was the 5th straight race win for An’janae!  Eliza Mullin and Sara Miranda also took home top 10 honors.  Finally the boys cross country team dropped their race to Comp.  Nick Audette and Nathan Colon finished first and second for the Bulldogs.  Today it’s the varsity volleyball team taking on Duggan Academy at 5:00 PM in the back gym and the girls soccer teams travelling to Amherst High School.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls’ varsity volleyball team improved to 6 wins and just 4 losses with their 3 – 1 win over Holyoke High yesterday.  Julia Guilbert, Hannah Brooks, Mykaela DeBrito and Markina Ako-Brew led the charge for the Lady Bulldogs.  The jv girls lost in the preliminary match.  Your boiys varsity soccer team improved their record to 3 wins and 5 losses on the season with their one-sided win over St. Joseph high School from Pittsfield.  Medhi Akram had two goals for the guys, while Sylvain Audet had a goal and two assists in the win.  The jv guys kept their undefeated season alive with a 5 – 3 win over Putnam.  Goals were scored by Elijah Nixon, Brandon Rusinque, Alan Williams, Tre Hodge and Chris Fagan.  Today the boys soccer teams travel to South Hadley, the girls soccer teams entertain Lee High School, the cross country teams are at Forest Park, the volleyball teams get over to Easthampton and the golf team travels to Granby.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Takeeyla Jackson scored the only goal in the game as your girls’ varsity soccer team scored a 1 – 0 win over Palmer yesterday.  The JV girls lost a 4-1 game to Palmer as Anjianni Blackman recorded the only score for the Bulldogs.  Sam Odom, Kaleigh Harris, Kayleigh Elmasian, Sydney Borders and Jaslyn Pham performed well in the loss.  Your boys varsity soccer team recorded a 7-2 win over Murdock High. Premiere Long and Sylvain Audet had two goals apiece and Jovan Wallace had a goal and two assists in the win.  Your girls cross country team kept their undefeated season alive with a win over Central yesterday. The girls took six of the top ten race spots as An’janae Washington, Tanialyz Almenas, Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin, Sara Miranda and Nadia Nowicki paced the girls to the win.  Your boys cross country team lost to Central.  Finally the golf team dropped their contest at Smith Academy.  Michael Bushey and Austin Benoit recorded low scores for the afternoon and Colin Fairman took a 3 – 1 win over his opponent.  Today we have the boys’ soccer teams here against Athol at 4 pm and the girls’ volleyball teams entertaining Simsbury, CT with the jv match beginning at 5.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to both your cross country teams as they each swept their tri-meet with Sci-Tech and Smith Vocational High School.   An’janae Washington finished first overall in the girls meet, while Tanialyz Almenas,  Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin, Sara Miranda and 7th grader Nadia Nowicki each took home top 10 overall honors on the afternoon.  On the boys side it was Amadi Pendleton taking home top overall honors, while Stephan Heathman, Nick Audette and Nathan Colon finished in the top 10 overall to record points for the guys.  Today we have the first games here on campus as both your boys and girls varsity soccer teams will host Hampden Charter School of Science beginning at 4:00 PM.   Your boys jv soccer team will travel to Hubbard Park to match up with Putnam and the golf team gets up to Frontier Regional.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Good luck to our cross country teams as they will compete tomorrow in the MIAA regional race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Let’s get out there and cheer our boys and girls on!

Time is running out for students in grades 7 – 12 to register online for cheerleading, basketball or wrestling for the winter season.  There are less than 10 days until cheerleading tryouts and just one week later we get things going with basketball and wrestling.  Remember- there will be no exceptions.  You need to register online now in order to be sure we can clear you for tryouts.  Cut off for registration is Friday, November 20th.  Please see Nurse Dupuis if you have questions about your current physical exam or see Mr. Campagna about how to register.

Pre-season conditioning sessions will be held for anyone interested in cheerleading on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 – 7:30 PM.  These sessions will be held tonight.  You may not remain after school to attend these sessions.  You must leave the building and return for 6 pm.  If interested – just show up.

There will be no strength and conditioning sessions next Monday.  They will resume on Wednesday of next week.  Again, no preseason strength and conditioning sessions on Monday, but they will return next Wednesday.

The fall season athletic award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 24th.  Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 PM and the awards ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM.

Markina Ako-Brew and Mykaela DeBrito led the way last night as your girls varsity volleyball team earned a hard fought 3-2 win over South Hadley in the opening round of the MIAA Regional tournament.  Ako-Brew had 33 digs and DeBrito added 19 assists in the win.  Remani Lizana and Suwayna Rowe were solid all night, but it was the huge block by Jayla Latham that helped ensure the girls’ win.  Their next game is Monday at Frontier Regional High School with a 6:30 PM match.  Let’s get up there and cheer these girls on!  Today is the all-city cross country meet.  Good luck to the girls and the boys teams.

Attention all boys planning to play basketball this winter.  Study Hall will be held every Monday and Wednesday from 3 – 5 pm under the direction of Coach John Williams.  If you plan on trying out for the team and you’d like an opportunity to spend some extra time on your school work, please plan to attend study hall.

Strength and conditioning workouts will be held next Monday from 5 – 7 pm for both the boys and the girls.  Everyone is welcome.  If interested, and if you truly want to work hard, just show up!  This is not an open gym session.  This is conditioning.

All Sabis runners ran personal best times at this past weekend’s PVIAC cross country championship meet at Stanley Park in Westfield.  An’janae Washington set a new Sabis course record as she finished 29th overall in a field of 215 runners.  Congratulations to all our cross country runners!  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 2-0 game at Southwick on Friday and ended their hopes for an invitation to the MIAA tournament.  Sarah Brown was solid in the nets.  Your jv girls dropped a 4-1 decision with Takeeyla Jackson netting the game’s only goal.  We will learn tomorrow when and where your girls volleyball team will play their opening round game of the tournament.  Good luck, girls!  Let’s be sure to get out there and cheer the Bulldogs on!

If you are a student in grade 7 – 12 and would like to try out for basketball, wrestling or cheerleading, then be sure to register for the season online on the family ID website.  Remember, you must register online now to be able to try out for any winter team.  If you have any questions or need some instructions on how to register, please pick up the information from Mr. Campagna in the guidance office.

Attention all boys planning to play basketball this winter.  Study Hall will begin today and be held every Monday and Wednesday from 3 – 5 pm under the direction of Coach John Williams.  If you plan on trying out for the team and you’d like an opportunity to spend some extra time on your school work, please plan to attend study hall.

Strength and conditioning workouts will now be held every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 7 pm for both the boys and the girls.  Everyone is welcome.  If interested, just show up!

Pre-season conditioning sessions will be held for anyone interested in cheerleading on Tuesday and Thursdays from 6 – 7:30 PM.  These sessions will begin next week on  Tuesday, November 10th.  You may not remain after school to attend these sessions.  You must leave the building and return for 6 pm.  If interested – just show up.

The fall season athletic award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, November 24th.

Daily Update

An’janae Washington established a new Forest Park school record yesterday as she took first place overall to lead the girls cross country team to a league win over Sci-Tech.  The win was Washington’s 7th of the season and placed the girls in a first place tie in their league standings.  Eliza Mullin, Briana Alvarado, Tianna Scott and Isabella Hookailo finished in the top ten on the afternoon.  The boys lost two closely contested contests yesterday as Nick Audette finished 3rd overall and first for your Bulldogs.  Your girls varsity soccer team lost to Chicopee last night by a 3-0 score.  They will need to win their game at Southwick on Friday to earn an MIAA tournament bid.

Today your volleyball teams close out their regular season as they travel to Easthampton and if the rain holds off both boys soccer teams will conclude their seasons with games here at 4:00 PM against Athol.  Let’s be sure to get out there and cheer the Bulldogs on!

Daily Update

Your girls varsity volleyball team moved to within one win of qualifying for the MIAA post season tournament with their sweep over Southbridge yesterday.  The girls were led by Kassandra Diaz, Suwayna Rowe, Hannah Brooks and Remani Lizana.  The jv girls took a 2-1 win in the preliminary game thanks to the strong play by Aurora Garcia and Niyah Miller.  Your boys varsity soccer team dropped an exciting 4-3 game on the road to St. Joseph’s High School last night.  James Gonzalez recorded two goals and Premere Long had the other as the guys fell a bit short of victory.  Your girls varsity soccer team lost a 5-0 contest to Monson.  Both the girls and boys cross country teams defeated Chicopee yesterday.  An’janae Washington won her 7th race of the season with a new Chicopee State Park course record, while Tanialyz Alemnas, Brianna Alvarado and Eliza Mulin also placed for the win.   Amadi Pendleton, Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert and Nate Colon placed in the top 10 finishers for the guys

Today we have no games scheduled, but tomorrow we have the boys soccer teams getting up to Frontier Regional and the girls varsity volleyball team trying to earn their tournament bid with a match at Dean Tech.
