Congratulations to your varsity wrestling team as they opened their league season with a 39 – 30 win over Granby on the road.  Jack Spaulding, Jalen Rogers, Jason Alves and Jacob Dagenais each recorded pins in the win.  Christian Rivas had an impressive win by decision to help the team record their victory. Arianna Carmona and Kinsley Orr-Westbrook had 10 points apiece but the girls freshmen basketball team fell to Tantasqua yesterday here at home.  Your boys freshmen team opened the doubleheader as they also fell to Tantasqua by a score of 55 – 43.  The guys had a torrid fourth quarter comeback bid fall short despite 11 points by Gabriel Perez and 8 points and 6 boards from Jared Denson.  Kevin West was solid throughout.   Today the boys basketball teams get right back at it as the jv and varsity travel to Easthampton High and the boys freshmen team gets over to Central for a 4:00 PM tip. Tomorrow it’s the Central jv and varsity girls teams here beginning at 5:30 PM and the freshmen girls’ basketball team travelling to Central for a 4:00 PM start.  The Bowling Teams begin their match at 3:30pm at AMF Chicopee.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Aaron Williams had 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the boys varsity basketball team to a 58 – 42 win over Quaboag Regional High School on the road last night.  Justin Rennis had 12 points, 6 blocks and 17 boards to round out the Bulldog dominance in the paint.  Jonathan Ortiz hit for 11 points and he had 17 rebounds as the jv guys beat Quaboag 56 – 29 in the preliminary contest.  Jaeden Herd chipped in with 11 points.  Today we have a freshmen doubleheader with the boys in the main gym at 4:00 PM and the girls in the back gym with a 5:00 PM tip. The wrestlers will travel to Granby High.  Tomorrow the boys basketball teams get right back at it as the jv and varsity travel to Easthampton High and the boys freshmen team gets over to Central.  The Bowling Clubs head to AMF Chicopee for their matches starting at 3:30 pm.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

An’janae Washington lead a torrid final quarter comeback, but the girls varsity basketball team dropped a 45 – 43 heartbreaker to Mahar Regional High School here at school last night.  Washington had 24 points on the night and her solid defensive effort left the girls within a rimmed out final shot at the buizzer from sending the game in overtime.  Remani Lizana, Alyssa Padilla and Safaire Bryant played well for the girls.  The jv team also dropped their contest to Mahar despite Tyleisia Cooper’s 8 points and solid rebounding effort.  Amani Smith chipped in with 6 points in the loss.  Your freshman girls basketball team earned a very exciting 30 – 29 road win at Chicopee High yesterday as Bailey Barlow lead the scoring with 8 points.  Kinley Orr-Westbrook and Maddie Wyszynski had 6 points apiece in the win.  But it was a strong defensive effort by Lela Ficarra in the final seconds of the game that iced the win for the girls.  Today we have the boys’ jv and varsity teams travelling to Quaboag Regional and tomorrow we have a freshmen doubleheader and the wrestlers go on the road to Granby.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Paul Roberts had 13 points and Jared Denson added 10 as the boys freshmen basketball team defeated Sci-Tech by a score of 48 – 40 in the opening game of the season for both teams.  Kevin West and Roberts controlled the boards and Gabe Perez and Denson led the defensive efforts. Both Bowling Teams won their matches yesterday with Colin Fairman bowling had the highest game for SABIS with 221.  Also, Matt Britt and Sarah Brosseau bowled their highest games this season.  Tonight the girls’ jv and varsity basketball teams travel to DuPont Middle School in Chicopee to take on Pope Francis and tomorrow it’s the wrestling team in a quad at Danvers High School..  Finally –on Sunday – the boys’ varsity basketball team plays at UMASS in a 12:30 game at the Cage.  Tickets are available for that game here at school for just $5 each.  Purchase your tickets from Mr. Campagna or Coach Williams today.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Attention all students – if you plan to try out for a winter season sport you must register now on the family ID website.  Please do not wait until the last moment to register as we may be unable to confirm medical clearance if you wait until the final week to register.  If we cannot obtain medical clearance you will not be able to attend a tryout session.  Tryouts for cheerleading will begin next Monday, while tryouts for wrestling and basketball will be held one week later beginning on November 28th

We will hold an open gym today for boys in grades 7 – 12 interested in basketball from 3 – 5 pm.  Open gym for girls in grades 7 – 12 interested in conditioning will also be held today from 5 – 7 pm.  Conditioning for wrestling will also meet today from 3 – 4:30 pm.  Later this week the boys basketball group in grades 7 – 12 will have conditioning on Thursday from 3 – 5 and the girls in grades 7 – 12 will have conditioning also on Thursday from 5 – 7 PM.  Open gym times for wrestling candidates will also be on Thursday from 3 – 4:30 PM.  These will be the final open gym times prior to the tryout sessions for the winter athletic seasons.

The fall athletic season awards ceremony will be held next Monday, November 21st.  All are welcome to attend.

Emma Smith scored the game winner about six minutes into the overtime period and your girls varsity soccer team took a 2 – 1 win over Renaissance School on Friday to advance in the MIAA regional soccer tournament.  Smith scored off an assist from Avalon Mateo who also scored the game’s first goal.  Kayla Brown was solid in the nets and Franchesca Diaz anchored a successful defensive effort.  The girls get back at it today with a 2:00 PM contest at Granby High.  Congratulations to your girls cross country team for their repeat win in the All-City meet on Friday.  An’janae Washington earned the first place overall medal as she bettered her own course record by three seconds.  She was followed in the top ten overall by Tanialyz Almenas and Eliza Mullin.  At the PVIAC championship race on Saturday, An’janae once again led the girls as she finished 10th overall (out of 205 runners) and she shaved over 30 seconds off her previous best time at Stanley Park.  For the boys it was Stephan Heathman who finished 11th overall in the All-City race as he broke the 20 minute mark with a time of 19:45.  Over the weekend it was Stephan, Nick Audette and Amadi Pendleton who each turned in sub-20 minute times in the PVIAC championships.  Today the girls volleyball teams travel to Lee High School for the next round of play in their MIAA tournament and on Sunday both the boys and girls cross country teams are set to enter the MIAA championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls varsity soccer team was nearly flawless as they lost a 2 – 1 heartbreaker to Monson High School yesterday.  Avalon Mateo scored the lone Bulldog goal and Kayla Brown and Cheyenne Daniels were outstanding in the nets.  Monson scored the game winner with just 7 minutes left in the game.  Your jv girls dropped a 1 – 0 game to Monson as well.  Bailey Barlow, Amanda Odom and Amani Smith paced the girls on the afternoon. Your golf team lost a one-sided match to Mahar.  Austin Benoit posted the low score on the afternoon for the team.  Today the girls volleyball teams travel to Chicopee as they try and earn their invitation to the MIAA post season tournament.   The jv match begins at 4:00 PM.  Tomorrow both the boys and girls soccer teams are in action as the boys travel to Athol and the girls get out to Taconic High School.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

The boys varsity basketball team dropped a close game on the road yesterday to Agawam by a score of 49 – 39.  Jahleel Gabriel led all Bulldog scorers with 10 points.  Your boys freshmen basketball team staged a torrid fourth quarter as they defeated Agawam by a score of 49 – 37.  Donte Bolden had 20 points in the win.  Today your girls jv and varsity get up to Amherst and tomorrow your girls freshmen have the main gym game at 4:00 PM and the wrestlers travel to Southwick.  On Thursday, the guys basketball teams are here against South Hadley and on Friday, the girls get over to Chicopee High.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Believe it or not – Online registration for all spring sports will begin next Monday, February 8th on the family ID website.  There will be no in-person registration sessions. The season begins for all sports on Monday, March 21st.  You must have a valid physical exam on file with the nurse and register online in order to be eligible.  Otherwise, all students in grades 7 – 12 are eligible to participate.  Register early.  We will be offering teams for baseball, softball, boys volleyball, boys and girls tennis, and boys and girls track and field.  See Mr. Campagna if you have any questions.

There will be a meeting on Thursday during Student Life period for any girl in grade 7 – 12 interested in playing softball this Spring.  Preseason workouts for softball will begin this Saturday in the back gym from 12:30 – 2:30 PM.  Registration is not needed.  Just show up.

Justin Rennis had a double double and Jaren Suttles added 10 points as your boys varsity basketball team earned a come from behind win over Minnechaug here on Friday night.  Denzel Williams, Premere Long and Aaron Williams each went off for double figure scoring as the jv guys defeated Minnechaug in the preliminary game.  The boys’ freshmen team made it a clean sweep as they downed Minnechaug on the road.  Donte Bolden led the way with 16 points.  Your girls varsity basketball team fell to Monson.  An’janae Washington lead a balanced offensive attack.  The jv girls lost in the opener.  Also Friday, the Girls JV Bowling Club won their match led by Tessa Cantella rolling her high game of the season – 132.  The Varsity and Boys JV both lost; however Jacob Ouellette rolling his high game of the season – 160 for the Boys JV..  Today it’s boys freshmen basketball team here in the main gym at 4:00 PM and the jv and varsity teams travelling to Agawam for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow your girls jv and varsity get up to Amherst and on Wednesday your girls freshmen have the main gym game at 4:00 PM.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Tyler Griffin had 13 points and 8 rebounds and your boys’ varsity basketball team improved to 9-2 on the season with a one-sided win over Ludlow on Friday.  Justin Rennis had a double double and Nathan Colon added 10 points in the win.  Your jv guys also downed Ludlow and Aaron Williams had 22 points on the night.  The boys’ freshmen lost to Baystate Charter School on Friday afternoon.  James Gonzalez had 11 points to lead the guys.  Both the girls jv and varsity basketball teams lost to Barnstable High on Friday. Your boys varsity basketball team moved closer to earning an invitation to the MIAA post season tournament with a one-sided win over Belchertown last night. Jahleel Gabriel had 16 points and 18 rebounds in the win. Nathan Colon, Kuwan Jackson and Justin Rennis each hit for double figures as well. Aaron Williams had 29 points and 14 boards as the JV boys earned a 70-36 win in the preliminary game. Finally, it was your boys freshmen team recording a win on the road at Somers yesterday afternoon. Jason Daniels led the way with 14 points, while Donte Bolden chipped in with 12. Today we have the wrestling team here and tomorrow the girls basketball teams are here entertaining West Side. The jv game will tip at 5:30 PM. Nathan Colon had 18 points and Tyler Griffin had 18 points and 11 rebounds as your boys varsity basketball team defeated Minnechaug by a score of 69-46 ;last night.  Jahleel Gabriel also had a double double with 13 points and 10 boards.  The jv guys lost in the preliminary, but Aaron Williams had 15 points and 8 boards.  Finally the freshmen guys beat Minnechaug 63-44.  James Gonzalez and Souley Diaby had 12 points apiece in the win.  Your girls varsity basketball team, led by 15 points from An’janae Washington, mounted a furious comeback last night, but they fell short dropping a 50 – 41 contest.  The junior varsity, led by Samantha Townsend, lost in the preliminary game.

Congratulations to the boys varsity basketball team on their win over Wahconah High on Friday.  Jahleel Gabriel and Justin Rennis led the way with double doubles for each student.  Nathan Colon was the high scorer with 16 points for his night’s work.  Kyle Pingree and Xavier Hines-Coombs took home top honors in the Longmeadow Early Bird wrestling tournament.  The team finished 4th overall.  The varsity bowling team defeated Holyoke in club action on Friday, while the boys’ JV took a win over Central and the girls JV team recorded a win as well.  Shayne Audet had a personal best of 188.

The winter season continues tonight as the girls basketball teams entertain Agawam and your guys are here tomorrow against Wahconah Regional.  Admission to all home evening games is still just $5 for adults and $2 for students.  Season tickets are available for just $16 for any student and staff is always admitted free of charge to any regular season game.  Both your freshmen basketball teams get over to Central on Friday and the wrestlers have entered the Longmeadow Early Bird on Saturday.  The Bowling Club has their next match on Friday at Shaker Bowl.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

An’janae Washington had 19 points and 11 steals as your girls varsity basketball team earned a 52-37 win over Southbridge last night.  Remani Lizana and Maya Timms added 8 points apiece in the opening night victory.  Your jv girls also took home a win with Sam Townsend, Bianca Marero and Aysha Miller each recording double figures.  Your boys freshmen basketball team lost a 50-46 battle on the road at Tantasqua.  Souley Diaby had 15 points, while Donte Bolden had 12 points and 18 boards in the loss.  Finally, your girls’ freshmen basketball team fell to Tantasqua.  Sydney Borders and Bailey Barlow paced the girls.

Congratulations to your boys’ freshmen basketball team on their 55 – 41 win over Baystate Academy yesterday.  Jaeden Heard led the way with 15 points, while Tre Hodge chipped in with 11 on the afternoon.  Your boys jv basketball team fell on the road to Sutton by a 61 – 59 score.  Aaron Williams had 7 points, 4 blocks and 7 rebounds on the night.  The varsity also dropped their game to Sutton.  Nathan Colon and Nathan Cruz had 10 points apiece for the guys.
