Gabriella Harris won the 100 meter sprint and anchored the 4 by 100 relay as the girls’ track and field team defeated Pioneer Regional by a score of 87 – 57 yesterday.  An’janae Washington, Tianna Scott, Remani Lizana, Kayla Lazzari, Franchesca Diaz and Tanialyz Almenas also took home top honors to lead the girls to the victory.    Nathan Reed took home the win at second singles, but your boys’ tennis team lost to Westfield High by a 4-1 score and the girls tennis team dropped their match to Holyoke High despite wins at first and second singles by Abby Sullivan and Emma Smith.  Today we have both the baseball and the softball teams here at home with games beginning at 4:00 PM and the boys’ tennis team entertaining PVCA at Forest Park.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Attention all girls in grades 6 – 11 – an informational meeting will be held for fall soccer on Thursday of this week (that’s tomorrow) during Student Life periods in room 243.

Brandon Cavanaugh was solid on the hill as your varsity baseball team earned an 8 – 2 win over Gateway yesterday.  Xavier Vegerano had three hits and three RBI as the boys kept their tournament hopes alive.  Armando Morales had 6 strikeouts on the mound as the JV baseball team earned an 11 – 2 win over Gateway as well.  Gianna Berardi and Hannah Brooks managed the only hits for the varsity softball team as the girls dropped a one-sided game to Ware.  The jv lost by mercy rule as well.  Your boys tennis team lost a league match to Greenfield by a 4 – 1 score.  Anh Nugyen took the team’s only point at first singles.  Today we have the girls track and field team taking on Pioneer, the boys tennis team getting over to Westfield High and the girls tennis team travelling to Holyoke.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Shayne Audet struck out 15 hitters and Sylvain Audet and Kyle Pingree knocked out three hits apiece as the varsity baseball team took a   6 – 1 win over Monson yesterday.  Armando Morales struck out seven, but your jv baseball team dropped a 4 – 3 game.  Your volleyball team took a   3 – 0 win over Dean Tech yesterday as they improved their season record to 7 wins and just 4 losses.  Hannah Brooks had two hits, but your varsity softball team lost a one-sided game to Granby.  The jv softball team played arguably their best game of the season as Asher Joseph was solid in the circle and Alexa Jacques and Juliette Theriault were flawless in the field.  Your girls tennis team swept Central and both the girls and boys track teams performed well in a multi-school meet at East Longmeadow.  Gabby Harris, Alizaya Clark and An’janae Washington took home top honors in the dash events in their dual win over Putnam, while Lashae Jackson took top honors in the 400 meter hurdles and Eliza Mullin won the long jump.  Today we have the baseball teams taking on Putnam and the girls softball teams entertaining Southwick.  The varsity volleyball team will get up to Smith Voke and both tennis teams are in action as well.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

 Informational meetings for the fall golf team will be held next Monday, May 9th during student life period.  We will announce the meetings for cross country, boys and girls soccer, and girls volleyball as soon as they are scheduled.

Congratulations to your boys’ tennis team as they improved their season record to 5 wins and just 1 loss with a sweep over Sci-Tech.  Anh Nguyen, Nathan Reed and Roberto Falvo swept at singles, while Michal Elmasian and Zach Thomas took home the doubles honors.  Your boys varsity baseball team defeated Ware yesterday by a 6 – 5 score.  Shane Audet picked up the win on the hill as he had a 13 strikeout performance.  Kyle Pingree and Nick Thibodeau had three hits apiece to lead the offensive charge.  Your girls’ varsity softball team fell to Central by a 9-0 score.  Kayla Brown, Jada Ficarra and Lela Ficarra had hits for the girls.  The JV softball team lost as well.  Today we have the baseball teams at home against Hampshire Regional, the volleyball teams here against Putnam, the girls tennis team travelling to Ludlow and the softball teams getting up to Smith Academy.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

The varsity baseball game and the girls’ tennis match were each postponed yesterday due to the weather.  Congratulations to your boys volleyballs teams as they each recorded wins over Belchertown yesterday.  The varsity had an exciting 3-1 win as Austin Benoit (31 assists and 23 digs) and Nathan Johnson (13 digs and 15 kills) paced your Bulldogs.  Xavier Hines-Coombs, Otto Pellegrino and Colin Fairman also played well in the match.  The JV took a 2-1 win as Dante Bolden and Esias Valentin were solid throughout.  Today your jv and varsity softball teams get over to Central, the baseball teams will entertain Ware and the boys’ tennis team takes on Sci-Tech at Forest Park.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your varsity baseball and softball teams will each host Public Service Academy from Enfield today with the first pitch in each game scheduled for 4:00 PM.  Both the boys and girls tennis teams will travel to Lee High School for a double header, while the boys track team gets up to Turners Falls.  Good luck to all our teams.  Tomorrow the girls tennis team get over to Belchertown and the volleyball teams and the varsity baseball team are each home beginning at 4:00 PM.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls track team opened their season with a convincing win over Sci-Tech yesterday.  Anjanae Washington took home top honors in the 400 meters and she was on the winning team for the 4 by 400 relay.  Remani Lizana won both the shot put and the discus, while Eliza Mullin was best in the high jump and Tiffany Alban tops in the javelin.  Other top performers in the meet were Sarah Ledoux, Tatianna Skarzynski, Alizaya Clark and Tanialize Almenas.  Your boys tennis team remained undefeated as they won an exciting 3-2 match over Turners Falls.  Ahn Nguyen, Nathan Reed and the first doubles team of Roberto Falvo and Chris Calvanese earned the win for the guys.  The varsity volleyball team lost a very competitive match at Commerce.  Nathan Johnson, Xavier Hines-Coombs and Austin Benoit were solid in the loss.  Your varsity softball team lost to Easthampton on a walk off hit in the 7th inning by a 10 – 9 score.  Kayla Brown had three hits, while Alyssa Padilla and Aemilia Rivera had two apiece in the loss.  The jv softball team dropped their game at Easthampton, despite solid play from Gianna Berardi, Gabriella Miranda and Asher Joseph.  Today we have the softball teams at home against McCann Tech and the girls tennis team entertaining Agawam.   Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Spring Season Tryouts

Spring Season Tryouts

Tryouts are scheduled as follows:

Tennis:  Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis will be held at Forest Park from 3 – 5 pm. While we will provide transportation to and from the Park on Monday, March 21st, students must arrange their own transportation on a regular basis.

Track and Field:  Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field will be held outside on school grounds from 3 – 5 pm  Once the teams have been selected some practices will be held on school grounds immediately after school and some practices will be held at AIC beginning at 5:30 PM.  On AIC practice days, student must leave campus and arrange their own transportation to AIC.

Volleyball:  Boys’ Volleyball tryouts will be held from 3 – 5 pm in the main gym at school.  On an ongoing basis, the varsity will practice most days from 3 – 5 pm and the junior varsity will practice from 5 – 7 PM.

Baseball / Softball:  Tryouts will be held on the athletic fields from 3 – 5:30 PM.  Once the teams have been selected, the coaches will distribute a practice schedule.  Most practices will be held immediately after school; however some regular practices may be scheduled on a weekend day.

Nathan Colon had a triple double last night as the boys varsity basketball team defeated Belchertown by a score of 76 – 46.  Colon had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the guys to their win.  Justin Rennis had a double double as well.  Aaron Williams went off for 31 points and 12 boards as the JV guys took the preliminary game by a 61 – 49 score.  Kisean Johnson had a double double in the win as well.  Tonight, it’s the girls jv and varsity entertaining Belchertown and tomorrow it’s the Western Mass tournament for your wrestling team.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

The season begins for all sports on Monday, March 21st.  You must have a valid physical exam on file with the nurse and register online in order to be eligible.  Otherwise, all students in grades 7 – 12 are eligible to participate.  Register early.  We will be offering teams for baseball, softball, boys volleyball, boys and girls tennis, and boys and girls track and field.  See Mr. Campagna if you have any questions.

Preseason workouts for softball will continue this Saturday in the back gym from 12:30 – 2:30 PM.  Registration is not needed.  Just show up.

Tianna Scott had a double double, but your girls varsity basketball team fell to Chicopee Comp on Tuesday.  Last night it was the boys who lost a heartbreaker to Comp despite 20 points and 15 rebounds from Justin Rennis.  Christian Garcia-Nieves earned his 100th career win last night as the wrestling team took a league win over Hampshire Regional on Senior night.  Tonight your boys jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Belchertown and the girls freshmen team gets over to Chicopee.  Tomorrow, it’s the girls jv and varsity entertaining Belchertown.   Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Pins by Christian Revas and Kolby Smith gave the varsity wrestling team a 42 – 41 win over Southwick last night.  Sydney Boarders had 21 points and the girls freshmen basketball team earned a hard fought 36 – 23 win over Mohawk Trail Regional High School.  Tonight the guys basketball teams are here against South Hadley and tomorrow, the girls jv and varsity get over to Chicopee High, while the freshmen team is here at 4:00 PM.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

The boys varsity basketball team dropped a close game on the road yesterday to Agawam by a score of 49 – 39.  Jahleel Gabriel led all Bulldog scorers with 10 points.  Your boys freshmen basketball team staged a torrid fourth quarter as they defeated Agawam by a score of 49 – 37.  Donte Bolden had 20 points in the win.  Today your girls jv and varsity get up to Amherst and tomorrow your girls freshmen have the main gym game at 4:00 PM and the wrestlers travel to Southwick.  On Thursday, the guys basketball teams are here against South Hadley and on Friday, the girls get over to Chicopee High.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Nasia Torres ad an extra-innings two run double to lead the varsity softball team to an 11 – 9 win over smith Academy on the road.  Sara Brown had four hits and Jada Ficarra pitched the complete game for the win.  Your jv softball team fell to Smith in the early game.  The varsity baseball team lost to Granby by a score of 6-0, while the JV team backed by Matt Parent’s complete game pitching defeated Granby over at Hubbard Park.  James Theriault had 3 hits, John Ortiz hit a homerun and Antonio Rivera had the walk off single to record the win.  Your boys tennis team defeated Sci-Tech to earn a spot in the MIAA team tournament.  Today we have the girls tennis team closing things out with West Springfield and the track teams entering the PVIAC end of year multi-school meet.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Nasia Torres had four hits including the game winning home run as your varsity softball team earned a come from behind win over Gateway on Saturday.  Stefania Falvo had her first varsity home run earlier in the game to lead the way.  Brandon Cavanaugh was solid on the mound and Cameron Rodriguez and Guilmond Torres had two hits apiece as the varsity baseball team defeated Sci-Tech here on Saturday as well.  Congratulations to both Anh Nuygen and Nathan Reed as they both advanced to the quarter final rounds of the MIAA individual tennis tournament before being eliminated over the weekend.  Today we have the baseball teams at home with games beginning at 4:00 PM, while the softball teams travel to Easthampton for 4:00 PM games as well.  The girls tennis team gets over to West Springfield.  Tomorrow we have the boys tennis team over at Central and both track teams will participate in the All-City meet at Central.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to the boys tennis team in their 4-1 win over PVCS yesterday.  Nathan Reed won at first singles, Anh Nugyen won at second singles and Michael Elmasian and Justin Greene-Williams took the honors at second doubles to ensure the win.  Allyssa Padilla and Kayla Brown knocked out two hits apiece, but your varsity softball team lost on the road at McCann Tech.  The Jv softball team took a win thanks to Jillian Jacques grand slam home run and a solid effort inside the circle by Gianna Beradi.  Your varsity volleyball team lost in straight sets to Commerce.  Austin Benoit had 19 assists and David Marsh had 11 kills in the losing effort.  Today has the baseball teams travelling to St. Mary High.  The varsity is under the lights (7 PM start) at Bullens Field in Westfield and tomorrow we have the varsity softball team here at 4:00 PM against league leading Southwick High, the volleyball teams are getting over to Sci-Tech and the girls tennis team entertains Ludlow.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Michael Elmasian and Zach Thomas won at second doubles to give the boys varsity tennis team a 3-2 win over Turners Falls yesterday.  Their point, coupled with big singles wins by Taariq Woods at third singles and Nathan Reed at first singles kept the guys championship hopes alive and inched the team closer to qualifying for the MIAA team tournament.  Today we have the girls tennis team entertaining Holyoke High, the girls track team getting over to Mahar and the volleyball teams travelling to Ware. We also have the jv softball and the jv baseball teams here on campus against Pathfinder Regional in games beginning at 4 PM.   Tomorrow it’s the softball teams making the trip to McCann Tech, the baseball teams getting over to Forest Park for games against Sci-Tech, boys tennis at PVCS and the varsity volleyball team entertaining Commerce here.  Thursday has the baseball teams travelling to St. Mary High.  The varsity is under the lights (7 PM start) at Bullens Field in Westfield.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Michael Elmasian and Justin Greene-Williams clinched the 3 – 2 win for the boys varsity tennis team with a sweep at second doubles.  Their win, along with singles victories by Anh Nguyen and Taariq Woods clinched the 3-2 team victory over St. Mary High School yesterday. Congratulations to your boys’ varsity volleyball team on their 3-1 win over Dean Tech.  Austin Benoit had 25 assists to help the guys to the victory.  Today it’s the softball teams travelling to Palmer and the baseball teams entertaining Monson all with 4:00 PM starting times.  Tomorrow the softball teams keep right at it as they will travel out to Ware and the girls tennis team travels to Central.  The girls track team matches up with Commerce and the boys tennis team hosts Westfield High.  Finally tomorrow we have both volleyball teams getting over to Holyoke High.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Nasia Torres and Kayla Brown led the offensive charge and Lindsay Fontaine was solid on the mound as your varsity softball team scored a one-sided win over Dean Tech yesterday to even their season record at 4 and 4.  Your varsity baseball team jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hold things as they fell to Hopkins Academy.  Shayne Audet had two hits to lead the Bulldog offensive charge.  Your JV baseball team also lost to Hopkins.  Matt Parent, James Theriault and Michael Perez played well for the junior Dogs.  Both the boys and girls tennis teams matched up against stiff competition as the girls fell to Minnechaug and the boys lost to Greenfield.  Today, the softball teams make it 3 games in 3 days when they travel to Granby and the baseball teams do the same as they travel to Ware.  The varsity volleyball team will host Dean Tech and the girls tennis team is at Forest Park.  Tomorrow we have boys tennis at West Springfield and we close out the week on Friday with both baseball teams and volleyball teams here at school and both the softball teams getting over to Monson.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Aemelia Rivera had 4 hits and Kayla Brown had a grand slam home run and 9 runs batted in the lead the varsity softball team to a one-sided win over Westfield Voke yesterday.  Your varsity baseball team dropped a 6-3 road game to Mt. Everett despite 3 hits by Shayne Audet.  Griffin Spear and Nick Thibodeau chipped in on offense and Guilmond Torres gave a solid outing on the mound.  Your boys varsity tennis team fell to Chicopee Comp by a 4-1 score.  Nathan Reed was impressive to earn the win at first singles.  Both the jv and varsity volleyball teams were swept by Westfield at home.  Your varsity showed some strong net play, but that wasn’t enough to take the match.  Today we have the softball and the volleyball teams here at school and the girls tennis team gets over to Chicopee High for a 4:00 PM match.  Tomorrow the baseball teams travel to Gateway and the softball teams have had their games against Ware moved to here.  The girls track team is at Central taking on Putnam and the boys tennis team is at home at Forest Park.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
