Your boys varsity volleyball team took home three straight wins over the break to improve their season record to 5 – 0.  Today they travel to East Longmeadow for what could prove to be a very competitive match.
The varsity baseball team dropped games to Granby and Palmer over the break.  In a schedule change the guys will travel to Monson tomorrow afternoon.
The softball team split their two games defeating Smith Academy and falling in the 7th inning to McCann Tech.  The girls will entertain Hopkins tomorrow afternoon.
The boys track team scored a decisive win over Southwick over the break, while the girls lost a competitive meet to Southwick.
The girls tennis team remains undefeated, while the boys team split their matches beating Sci-Tech and falling to Turners Falls.
With good weather we are expecting  a full slate of events this week.  Let’s get out there and cheer your Bulldogs on to victory!

Jayden Dow pitched a perfect game as the varsity softball team earned a one-sided win over Pope Francis yesterday to improve their record to 2 wins and 2 losses on the season.  Dow faced just fifteen hitters over the five inning game and the sophomore right hander struck out 11, while allowing no batter to reach base.  Dow also had three hits while completing an outstanding afternoon.  Bailey Barlow, Kayla Brown and Maddie Wyszynski were solid in the 16 hit offensive output.
Bryan Trinh swept at first singles and the boys varsity tennis team earned a 5 – 0 win over Sci-Tech to improve their record to 2 wins and just 1 loss on the season.
Today we have both baseball teams traveling to Ware High School, both track teams traveling to Putnam and the girls tennis team entertaining St. Mary High School at Forest Park.  Good luck to all our teams!

Congratulations to your girls tennis team on their 5 – 0 sweep over Holyoke High School yesterday.  Emma Smith, Remie Jerard and Danielle Atayan were each victorious in the singles matches and Beyonca Twiggs and Rhayanna Shubrick won at first doubles and Venus Nguyen and Katie Sharpe took the win at the second doubles slot.
Your boys varsity baseball team earned a hard fought 9 – 4 win over Lee High School yesterday.  Isaiah Ramos had four hits including 2 RBI, while Trey Faulkner added three hits with a double and 2 RBI to lead the offensive charge.  Armando Morales took home the pitching win.
Your boys track team dropped a close meet at Monson High yesterday.  Tre Hodge (mile run), Noah Valentine (110 meter high hurdles), Siare Barklow (800 meters), Jahmal Campbell (long jump and triple jump) each took home first place finishes on the day.  Your relay team was also victorious in both relay races.
Finally it was your varsity softball team that dropped to tough one on the road at Monument Mountain by a 10 – 7 score.  Maddie Wyszynski and Lela Ficarra had two hits apiece in the loss.
Today we have the boys tennis team getting over to Pioneer Valley Christian Academy and tomorrow we have a full slate of games scheduled.

Your boys’ varsity volleyball team opened their season with a 3 – 0 sweep at Southwick yesterday.  Ki-sean Johnson, Aaron Williams, Davian Alban and Evan Tran paced the guys to their impressive road win.  The jv guys lost by a 2 – 1 score in the preliminary match.  Michael Green had an impressive service run in the winning game.
Jayden Dow had 10 strikeouts, but the girls varsity softball team managed just two singles by Maddie Wyszynski and Bailey Barlow, as they lost their opener to Pioneer Regional by a 7 – 2 score.
Your boys tennis team is back in action after a one year hiatus as they dropped a 4 – 1 match to Westfield High yesterday.  Jiovanni Cruz and Mackenzie Mongeon took the only point in an exciting second doubles match.
Today the varsity softball team travels to Monument Mountain High School in the Berkshires, the girls tennis team gets up to Holyoke and the boys track team is at Monson.  Today is also our varsity baseball home opener for the baseball team as they will take on Lee High School at Hubbard Park at 4:45 PM.  Good luck to all our teams.

Our interscholastic athletic teams really get going this week as the boys tennis team, the boys’ volleyball teams and both softball teams open their seasons today.  The softball teams are waiting to get the green light on opening the fields to ensure today’s games will be played.  The girls tennis team gets things going tomorrow and the boys track and field team and the varsity softball team are each on the road.  Tomorrow we are also scheduled for the baseball home opener, but the field condition will dictate that event..  Finally, the girls track team kicks off their season on Friday along with a full slate of other scheduled events.  Good luck to all!

Your boys’ track and field team opened their season on Friday with a very competitive loss at West Springfield High School.  The guys were led by Erick Bass, Jeremy Townsend, Jahmal Campbell and Kofi Agyei-Yeboah who each recorded first place finishes.  Bass also qualified for the Western Mass championship meet in the 100 meter dash and Ethan Wells recorded a third place, and the only throwing top three finish in the javelin.
Things really get going this week as the boys tennis team, the boys’ volleyball teams and both softball teams open their seasons tomorrow.  The girls tennis team gets things going on Wednesday and the girls track team kicks off their season on Friday.  Good luck to all!

Armando Morales scattered 6 hits and struck out 6 Commerce hitters as your varsity baseball team opened their season with a 10 -2 road win yesterday.  Morales was in control throughout the afternoon and he was helped offensively by Rob Scoville and Gabe Perez, each of whom had two RBI singles early in the game.  Trey Faulkner had an RBI triple to help with the balanced offensive output.
Today it’s the boys track and field team over at West Springfield High School as long as the weather cooperates.  All our other spring season teams open their seasons next week.  Good luck to all!
Thanks to everyone who has purchase a calendar raffle ticket as part f the athletic department spring fundraiser.  The spring athletes will continue selling tickets all next week.

Tryouts continue today for most spring sport teams. Students trying out for a spot on the boys and girls tennis teams will follow the early dismissal process in order to attend an off campus session. Spring tryouts begin today and all times, locations and transportation plans are listed on the monitors throughout the school. Due to the weather a few off campus sessions will be held today. Students who have not yet registered online must do so and be medically cleared before attending anything this week.
 
An after school room will be available all week for student athletes who have tryouts or practices beginning anytime from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

The boys varsity basketball team dropped their state semi-final game last night at Worcester State University. It was simply not their night as they never really were able to execute their game plan. Aaron Williams had 15 points and Souleymane Diaby added 10. The game marled the final high school varsity appearance for Jalen Thomas, Jamal Jackson, Ja’Quan Johnson, Ki-Sean Johnson and Aaron Williams. Congratulations to the seniors and to the entire team on a season well done. Their Western Mass Championship banner will soon hand on the walls of the gym!
 
Earlier this week Aaron Williams was named the Western Massachusetts boys’ high school basketball Player of the Year by the basketball Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Aaron as he completes a very successful high school career. He finishes this season with 522 points and his career with 1204 points.
 
The spring interscholastic athletic programs begin on Monday and tryout times and locations for all sports are posted online and on the monitors throughout the school building. Only those students who have registered on the family ID website and have medical clearance from the Athletic Trainer will be allowed to participate in any tryout session. If you have any questions relating to your eligibility please see Sam or Mr. Campagna today.

Christian Rivas took home the top spot in the Western Mass wrestling tournament for the third time in his career as he will now advance to the state tournament next weekend.  Rivas will be joined at the tournament by Jalen Rogers and Christian Kelley, who each finished second in Western Mass and Quintin Pellegrino and Xavier Reyes who also took home top five honors.  Congratulations and good luck to them all!
Your indoor track teams completed their season on Friday as Vannessa Williams, Elijah Nixon and Gabby Harris represented our school to conclude our first ever indoor season.
Friday was also a big night for the boys varsity basketball team as they defeated Agawam in a league contest.  Souleymane Diaby and Aaron Williams led the offensive charge in the win.
Your boys freshmen basketball team dropped their game at Agawam. Jaylin Lovejoy had 19 points to lead the guys in the road game.
Today we have the girls jv and varsity here for a 5:30 PM double header.  The girls need the win to qualify for the MIAA tournament to be held later this month.  Let’s fill the stands and cheer our girls on to a win.

Your girls varsity  basketball team earned a 47 – 21 home court win over Hampden Charter School for Science last night and moved to within one win of the 10 required for an invitation to the MIAA post season tournament.  Safiare Bryant had 15 points, while Paris Lizana and Sydney Barklow added 9 apiece.
The girls freshmen dropped a nail biter on the road at Pathfinder by a score of 30 – 27.  Tracy Njuguna and Talia Thomas had 9 points each to lead the offensive effort and Kavonnah Moore grabbed 8 rebounds in an impressive effort.
Tonight the boys jv and varsity basketball teams entertain Agawam with games beginning at 5:30 PM, while the boys freshmen team travels to Agawam for a 4:00 PM contest.
Today we also have the qualifiers from the boys and girls indoor track teams competing to advance to the state championship meet.  Good luck to all!
Finally tomorrow is the Western Mass championships for wrestlers.  The all-day affair gets going at Franklin Tech by 9:00 AM.  Good luck to all our wrestlers.
The family ID website is now open for registration for all spring sports.  Tryouts for all teams begins on March 18th.
Conditioning workouts this weekend for softball are on Saturday from 9 – 11 and for baseball on Sunday from 11:30 until 1:00 PM.  All are welcome to attend either event.

Vannessa Williams took home first place honors in the shot put and earned a pace in the Western Mass championship meet, but the girls indoor track team dropped their meet on Friday up at Smith College. Gabby Harris was second overall and had another Western Mass qualifying distance in the long jump. Michaela Denson finished second in the shot put and now must wait to see if her distance can get her an invitation to the championship meet.
 
For the boys Michael Giraud-Budd, Antonio Rivera, Siare Barklow, Elijah Nixon, and Ethan Wells each recorded personal bests on Friday.
 
The wrestlers took three of their four team matches on Saturday.
 
This is a big week for athletic events. Today we have the boys freshmen basketball team entertaining Tantasqua here at 4:00 PM, while the girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Granby for an important league game. Tomorrow Aaron Williams tries to get his 1000th career point as the guys host Minnechaug with the jv tip at 5;30 and the varsity at 7:00 PM. Tomorrow the boys freshmen travel to Minnechaug for a 4:00 PM game.
 
Wednesday is senior night for your wrestlers as they host South Hadley at 7:00 PM and on Thursday the girls jv and varsity basketball teams host Monson beginning at 5:30 PM.
 
We round out this week with the boys freshmen basketball team entertaining West Springfield at 4:00 PM on Friday and the jv and varsity traveling to West Side for a night time double header.

Talia Thomas had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the girls’ freshmen basketball team to a  31 – 27 win over Bay State Academy.  Kayleeana Colon added 6 points and 10 boards in the win.
Sydney Barklow went off for a career high 23 points, but the girls varsity basketball team fell to Palmer by a score of 65 – 52.  Rhayanna Shubrick added 10 points in the loss.  Kalis Malcolm had 10 points and Maddie Wyszynski added 6, but the girls jv basketball team dropped the preliminary game at Palmer.
Today we have the boys and girls indoor track teams completing their regular seasons with a meet at Smith College and tomorrow it’s the wrestling team getting over to Chicopee Comp for a multi-school event.  Good luck to all our student athletes.

Today the girls basketball teams try to inch closer to a tournament invitation as the jv and varsity travel to Palmer.  The freshmen travel to Bay State Academy for a 4:00 PM game.
Tomorrow we have both the boys and girls indoor track teams matching up with Agawam up at Smith College.

Both the boys and the girls indoor track teams had good showings on Friday night as Elijah Nixon, Siare Barklow, Luke Goodchild, and Antonio Rivera established personal bests.  On the girls side Michaela Denson took top honors in the shot put and established a new personal best, while Ajianni Blackman and Antoinette O’Connor were solid in the high and long jumps respectively.
Your girls varsity basketball team got back to winning ways as they defeated Ludlow by a score of 42 – 26.  Safaire Bryant and Rhayanna Shubrick recorded double figure scoring to pace the girls. Salimata Diaby had 10 points to lead a balanced attack as the jv girls took home the win in the preliminary contest.
Today we have the boys jv and varsity basketball teams traveling to Agawam, the girls freshman basketball team getting out to Gateway and the boys freshmen team is here at 4:00 PM.
Tomorrow the wrestling team travels to Hampden Charter School of Science as they will try and keep their league championship hopes alive.  Good luck to all!

Aaron Williams had 34 points and 24 rebounds to lead your boys’ varsity basketball team to a 74 – 71 win over Chicopee in the opening round of the Hoophall Classic at Springfield College last night.  Williams was solid on both ends of the floor as he hoisted the Bulldogs on his back to lead them to the impressive win.  Tre Hodge (!2 points, 6 boards and 3 assists) and Souleymane Diaby (14 points and 7 boards) were also solid throughout.  Ja’Quan Johnson gave an outstanding defensive effort in the team win for the Bulldogs.  Williams needs just 47 points to reach the 1000 point career milestone.
Today we have the boys and girls track teams up at Smith College for a regular season meet.

Davian Alban, Quintin Pellegrino Christian Rivas and Christian Kelly had impressive individual wins and the varsity wrestlers defeated Southwick by a score of 48 – 18 last night on the road.
Madeline Wyszynski had 16 points and 8 rebounds but your girls freshmen basketball team fell to Minnechaug yesterday by a score of 44 – 24.
It’s finally here!  Today is the opening day of the 2019 Hoophall Classic held at Springfield College and our guys varsity basketball team opens up the event with a 4:00 PM game against Chicopee High.  Advance tickets are sold out, but there will be plenty of tickets available at the door for $10.00.  Tickets are good for all games today.
Tomorrow your boys and girls indoor track teams travel to Smith College for their league.  Good luck to all!

Christian Rivas finished first overall as your wrestling team took home a 4th place finish in the 11 team field at the Taconic tournament on Saturday. Rivas won at the 120 pound class, while Christian Kelley, Xavier Reyes and Jalen Rogers took home second place finishes in a solid showing.
 
Your girls varsity basketball team dropped a 37 – 34 contest at Longmeadow High on Friday. Alicia Mitchell led the team in scoring and rebounding, while Safaire Bryant helped to nullify any rebounding advantage Longmeadow expected to have.
 
Alexa Davis led the way offensively, but the girls jv basketball team dropped the preliminary game at Longmeadow on Friday.
 
Kofi Agyei-Yeboah, Siare Barklow, Eric Bass and James Monts were solid for the boys indoor track team on Friday.
 
If you weren’t here at school on Thursday night, you missed one of the biggest basketball wins in school history as the boys varsity defeated Central by a 50 – 48 score in overtime. Aaron Williams had 25 points to lead the way.
 
Today the girls jv and varsity basketball teas travel to Amherst for games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM and tomorrow the boys are home against Chicopee Comp.

Davian Alban scored a huge pin at the 220 pound weight class to secure the league win for your varsity wrestling team last night.  Alban brought the crowd to their feet with his emotional solid win.
Today it’s all about basketball as the boys jv and varsity teams entertain Central here with games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  We are expecting a sellout crowd.  So get here early to be sure you get a seat.
Tomorrow the boys freshmen travel to Central and the girls jv and varsity basketball teams get over to Longmeadow.  Also tomorrow we have the boys and girls track teams in a meet at Smith College and on Saturday the wrestlers are in action on the road in a multi-school event at Taconic High School in Pittsfield.

Congratulations to the wrestling team as they earned  4 wins against one loss on Saturday at Franklin Tech.  Jalen Rogers, Christian Rivas, Xavier Reyes, Evan Tran and Christian Kelly were undefeated on the day.
Talia Thomas had a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, but your girls freshmen basketball team dropped a competitive game at Pathfinder on Friday.  Sauna Charles and Alexa Davis were the leading scorers, but the girls jv basketball team dropped their contest at Agawam on Friday before the varsity game where Paris Lizana had a game high six points in a one-sided loss.
The boys indoor track team fared well at Smith College on Friday as Eric Bass, Antonio Rivera, James Monts, Jason Daniels and Elijah Nixon each finished first or second in their events.  The girls dropped their dual to East Longmeadow.
Today we have the boys freshmen basketball team entertaining Sci-Tech here at 4:00 PM.  The jv and varsity teams will play at Sci-Tech beginning with a 5:30 PM jv game.  Tuesday has the girls freshmen basketball team here for a 4:00 PM game and the girls jv and varsity teams getting over to Chicopee for games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  On Wednesday we have the wrestlers here beginning at 7:00 PM.  Finally – on Thursday – Central is here for 5:30 and 7:00 PM boys basketball games.  We are expecting a sellout crowd.  Be here early to ensure a seat.

Your boys varsity basketball team dropped an 80 – 59 road contest last night at Holyoke High.  Aaron Williams had 18 points to lead the team, while Kisean Johnson added 14 in the loss.  Alex Williams, Dom Spradley and Rob Scoville led the way in the jv game as the guys managed to earn an exciting win over Holyoke in the preliminary game.  The boys freshmen basketball team lost a one-sided game against Holyoke High yesterday here in the main gym.  Jaylen Lovejoy had 12 points to lead the guys, while Matt Consedine added 11.
Today the girls freshman basketball team gets over to Pathfinder for a 3:30 PM game, while the jv and varsity girls teams travel to Agawam and the boys and girls track teams are in action up at Smith College.  Tomorrow it’s the wrestling team is in a multi-school event up at Franklin Tech.

Today your boys freshmen basketball team entertains Holyoke here at 4:30 PM, while the jv and varsity teams travel to Holyoke for games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.
On Friday, it’s the girls freshman team traveling to Pathfinder for a 3:30 PM game and the jv and varsity teams get over to Agawam for games at 5:30 and 7:00PM.
Friday also sees your boys and girls indoor track teams up at Smith College for a 6:45 PM meet.  Over the weekend the wrestlers travel to Franklin Tech for a multi-school event on Saturday.
The boys varsity basketball team will be playing in the annual Hoophall Classic at Springfield College on Thursday, January 17th.  Tip is scheduled for 4:00 PM.  Tickets are available here at school for just $6.00.  They will cost $10.00 at the door.  We will sell these out early,  See Mr. Campagna if you’d like to purchase some tickets.

It was a busy vacation for your winter season athletic teams as your boys varsity basketball team earned wins over Commerce and Longmeadow. Aaron Williams had 22 points in the Longmeadow win, while Tre Hodge and Kisean Johnson added 12 and 11 points respectively.
 
The girls varsity basketball team improved their record to 6 wins against just one loss on the season with vacation wins over Paolo Friere and Hampshire Regional. Alicia Mitchell had 14 points – 12 in the 4th quarter – to lead the girls over Hampshire, while Safaire Bryant had 19 points and Mitchell had 10 in the Paolo Friere contest.
 
Your wrestling team earned a top five finish against teams from all divisions in Agawam’s Phil Tomkiel tournament. Christian Rivas and Jalen Rogers took home first place finishes in the event, while Xavier Reyes and Quintin Pellegrino finished 3rd and 4th overall respectively.
 
Today we have the varsity wrestling team here at home against Gateway Regional with things getting going at 7 pm. Tomorrow we have the boys jv and varsity basketball teams traveling to Holyoke, while the freshman team is here for a 4:30 PM contest. On Friday all three girls basketball teams are on the road and both track teams get back into action at Smith College. Let’s get out there and cheer our student athletes on to victory!

Daily Announcement (12/17)

Christian Rivas took home first place honors and was named the recipient of the most outstanding wrestler award at the Longmeadow High Early Bird Tournament held on Saturday.  Rivas and Jalen Rogers won first place in their respective weight classes, while Xavier Reyes finished fourth and Christian Fagan had a 6th place finish to celebrate a successful team day.
Your boys indoor track team earned their first win of the season with an indoor win over Putnam High.  Jason Daniels won the 55 meter sprint, Kofi Agyei-Yeboa took first in the 300 meter and Siare Barklow took home the top honors in the 600 meters.  Others scoring points for the Bulldogs were Elijah Nixon, Antonio Rivera, Luke Goodchild and James Monts.
Talia Thomas led the offensive effort with 8 points, but your girls freshman basketball team dropped a close contest at Athol on Friday.  Kayleanna Colon was solid in the loss.
Today we have the boys freshmen basketball team entertaining South Hadley here at 4 pm.  Tomorrow the girls jv and varsity basketball teams are home against Belchertown and the boys jv and varsity teams travel to Mount Greylock.  On Wednesday the wrestlers get over to Granby and on Thursday it’s the boys and girls freshmen on the road, the girls varsity basketball teams travel to PVCA and the boys will entertain Putnam here beginning at 5:30 PM.  Get here early on Thursday as we are expecting a big crowd.

Rhayanna Shubrick had 17 points, but your girls freshmen basketball team lost a hard fought game here against Minnecahug.  It was your girls’ season opener.  Today the girls freshmen head out to Athol to open their road season.
Today also has the boys and girls indoor track teams up at Smith College and tomorrow our wrestling team is at Longmeadow for a tournament style event.  Best of luck to all our teams.
Next week is a big one for many of our teams as the girls basketball team entertains Belchertown on Tuesday and your boys basketball team travels to Mount Greylock on Tuesday and entertains Putnam here on Thursday.  Next Saturday morning the wrestling team entertains John J. Congratulations to your boys’ varsity basketball team on their 70 – 56 win over Northampton on the road on Friday.  Souleymane Diaby had 22 points and Aaron Williams added 20 to lead the guys to their opening day victory.  The jv boys earned a one-sided win in the preliminary with Alex Williams, Sydney Borges and Rob Scoville each going for double figures offensively.  The freshman boys basketball team dropped their afternoon game despite a solid effort from Matt Consedine who had 17 points in the loss..
Your wrestling team swept their Saturday matches with three straight team wins.  Davian Alban, Evan Tran and Ryan O’Connor earned their first career varsity wins, while Xavier Reyes, Christian Rivas and Quintin Pellegrino went undefeated for the day.
Both the boys and girls indoor track teams opened their inaugural seasons up at Smith College on Friday.  Gabriela Harris finished second in the 55 meter dash and Vannessa Williams had a second place finish in the shot put.  For the guys Siare Barklow, Elijah Nixon and Kofi Abyei Yeboah each recorded second place finishes on the afternoon.
Today the girls varsity and jv basketball teams open their season on the road at Turners Falls and tomorrow the boys open their home season with games tipping at 5:30 PM against South Hadley.  The Student Life Organization is planning a party type atmosphere for Tuesday’s game.  A DJ will lead the music and the cheerleaders will be at both games.  Wear white to show support.  Tickets are $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults  Sabis staff are admitted free to all regular season home games.  Long sleeved white Bulldog athletic tee shirts will be available for sale for just $15.00 at the game!
Practice today for the girls track team has been cancelled.
