Congratulations to your wrestling team as they picked up four team wins on Saturday out at Mt. Everett High School.  Jalen Rogers, Khadir Zachery, Jacob Dagenias, Christian Rivas, Anthony DeCasse and Nehemiah Johnson each recorded four individual wins as well.  Your girls’ varsity basketball team dropped a competitive game to Amherst on Friday.  Amani Smith had 11 points to lead the way, while Sydney Barklow and Safaire Bryant had 9 points apiece.  Today your boys’ freshmen basketball team will entertain Minnechaug here at 4:00 PM, while the jv and varsity teams will travel to Minnechaug.  Your wrestling team gets right back at it with a match out at Hampshire Regional.  Tomorrow it’s a girls’ day as the freshmen team travels to Gateway, while the jv and varsity entertain Ludlow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  On Wednesday the wrestlers are here against Southwick and the girls freshmen go back to back as they travel to Pioneer Valley High School.   Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Souleymane Diaby had 21 points and Jaren Suttles chipped in with 18 as your boys varsity basketball team opened their league season with a 70 – 56 win over West Springfield High here last night.  They guys used a high energy end-to-end defensive set to take control of the game early on.  Aaron Williams had 12 points and Tre Hodge 8 in the total team effort.  James Gonzalez had 22 points and Taj Wheeler added 10 as the junior varsity basketball team took the win in the preliminary game.  The boys freshmen team dropped a tight contest on the road by a score of    35 – 30.  Josh Colon led the Bulldog scoring.  Tonight we have your girls jv and varsity opening their league season as they each will entertain Amherst High and tomorrow we have your wrestlers getting out to Mt. Kevin West had 15 points and Taj Wheeler and Dom Spradley added 11 and 10 points respectively as your boys jv basketball team scored a hard fought win over Sci-Tech last night.  The varsity lost in the feature game despite a career high offensive night from Jaeden Herd.  The freshmen team also lost to Sci-Tech in a closely contested game.  Sandro Diaz, Erik Bass and Davian Albano led the balanced offensive effort.  Today your girls are back in action as they host South Hadley and the freshmen boys travel to Tantasqua and the wrestlers travel to Gateway Regional.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Christian Rivas and Jalen Rogers each took home the top honors at the Tomkiel Invitational Wrestling Meet at Agawam over the vacation.  Khadir Zachery and Jason Alves earned second place finishes as our wrestlers were solid overall in the tournament.  Jalen Suttles had twenty plus points twice over vacation and Paris Lizana went off for 21 points, but both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams could not break into the win column over the break.  Things get right back into action beginning tomorrow as the wrestling team is home for a 7:00 PM match and the boys jv and varsity basketball teams will travel to Putnam.  On Thursday the girls jv and varsity basketball teams are here against South Hadley and Friday has the boys basketball teams matching up with Holyoke High.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Amani Smith and Samantha Townsend had 14 points apiece as your girls varsity basketball team earned a 64 – 27 win over HCSS here last night. The jv girls also took home a win against Baystate Academy in the preliminary game. James Gonzalez had 13 points and Alex Williams and Gabe Perez finished with 11 apiece but the boys’ jv basketball team dropped a double overtime game on the road at Longmeadow. The boys freshmen took home a one-sided win in the preliminary. Rob Scoville had 14 points to lead all scorers as the boys improved their season record to 3 – 1. Tonight we have Longmeadow High here against your girls jv and varsity basketball teams and the Bowling Teams are at Shaker Bowl starting at 3:30 pm. Quadir Price and Erik Bass led the way offensively as your boys freshmen basketball team downed Northampton High on the road by a score of 38 – 32 yesterday afternoon.  The guys used a stifling man-to-man team defense to shut down Northampton in the final minutes and clinch the hard fought victory.  Your freshmen girls’ team got out to a 10 – 0 run to open the game, but they couldn’t handle Chicopee’s defensive pressure and they lost despite a game high 11 points from Kailie Methe.  Today the girls jv and varsity are here beginning at 5:30 PM. Tryouts for all winter athletic teams will take place today for everyone who has already registered and is ready for their athletic tryout session.  Remember you must have registered online and be medically cleared in order to for you to attend a tryout session for cheerleading, wrestling or boys or girls basketball.   Girls basketball will hold their tryouts beginning right after school in the main gym.  Cheerleading will hold their sessions in the primary gym beginning at 4:00 PM.  Wrestling will hold their tryouts in the cafetorium beginning at 4:00 PM and boys’ basketball will begin their sessions at 6:00 PM in the main gym.  Bowling Club will hold tryouts on Tuesday at 3:15 PM at Shaker Bowl.  We will provide an after school room in room 120 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week for anyone not wanting to go home and return for tryouts.   There will be no exceptions to these procedures.  Please see a coach, the athletic trainer or Mr. Campagna if you have any questions.  Good luck to all!

Tryouts for all winter athletic teams will take place in less than two weeks from today.  But you must be registered and medically cleared in order to attend.  Registration is now open online on the family ID site for any student in grades 7 – 12 interested in cheerleading, wrestling or boys or girls basketball.  You must have a recent physical exam on file with the athletic trainer and you must be academically eligible.  Only those individuals who have completed these steps will be eligible to attend the tryout sessions.  Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 27th.   Girls basketball will hold their tryouts beginning right after school in the main gym.  Cheerleading will hold their sessions in the primary gym beginning at 4:00 PM.  Wrestling will hold their tryouts in the cafetorium beginning at 4:00 PM and boys’ basketball will begin their sessions at 6:00 PM in the main gym.  We will provide an after school room on tryout days for anyone not wanting to go home and return for tryouts.   Don’t be shutout.  Register now so you can be cleared to participate.  We will not clear anyone on the day of tryouts.

Samantha Townsend scored off a corner kick with less than one minute to go as your girls varsity soccer team earned a 1 – 1 draw against Central High School last night.  Kayla Brown had 15 saves in the nets and Zoe Stevens and Sarah Ledoux stymied Central’s leading scorer all night with outstanding defensive efforts.  Your boys varsity soccer team ended their regular season with a one-sided loss to Central in the earlier game.  The loss leaves the guys just one point shy of earning a trip to the MIAA tournament.  The jv guys dropped an afternoon game at Central as well.  Today it’s our final soccer game of the season as the jv girls travel to Central for a 4:00 PM contest.  The cross country teams will compete in the PVIAC meet on Saturday.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls jv soccer team scored a 2 – 1 win over Easthampton yesterday thanks to two goals from Samantha Odom.  Odom, who scored off assists from Amani Smith, received excellent play from Riley Sanderson, Danae Holmes and Mikayla Pouliot.  The varsity took a tough loss to Easthampton after surrendering two goals in the final five minutes of play.  Ajianni Blackman scored the Bulldogs’ lone goal and Kayla Brown had 12 saves in the nets.  The boys varsity soccer team suffered a similar fate as they surrendered two goals in the final nine minutes of play to fall by a 3 – 2 score at Mahar.  Chase Lamagdalaine and Dylan Hibbert recorded the goals for the guys.  The jv guys also dropped their contest at Mahar by a 3 – 1 score.    Your girls varsity volleyball team fell to Belchertown by a 3 – 1 score.  Hannah Brooks, Cassie Fairman and Emilly Howie were solid in the loss.  Your jv volleyball team took a 3 – 0 win at Belchertown thanks to a solid full squad style of play.  Finally the cross country teams had a solid afternoon after the guys took home wins against Chicopee and Renaissance, while the girls recorded a split.  Adriana Carmona took home top honors for your girls, while Nadia Nowicki finished 8th overall to lead the girls.  No games are scheduled for today, while tomorrow we have the girls soccer teams over at Longmeadow and the boys’ varsity soccer team travelling to Mohawk.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your boys varsity basketball team dropped a 69-58 game to Wahconah High last night and were eliminated from the MIAA tournament.  Aaron Williams had 15 points and Tre Hodge added 10 in the loss.  Tonight the girls try to keep their season alive as they travel to number three seed Hampshire Regional for a 7:00 PM game.  Good luck to them!

All informational meetings for spring sports have been held.  If you are interested in playing a sport you must register on the family ID website and be certain the nurse has a copy of your recent physical exam.

If you are interested in baseball or softball this spring why not come to conditioning tomorrow morning.  Baseball goes from 9:00 to 10:45 and softball from 10:15 until noon.

Tonight it’s our boys’ varsity basketball team and their number one seed opening their post season run here at 7:00 PM.  The guys will match up with Wahconah High School from Dalton in the Berkshires. Doors will open at 6:00 PM and admission is $5 for students and $7 for adults.  The DJ will bring the music the guys need the students to bring the noise.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Tomorrow your girls varsity basketball team moves on to the next round of tournament play as they travel to number 3 seed Hampshire Regional with a 7:00 PM game.  Ticket prices are 5 and 7$ and we hope a good number of fans make the trip.  Finally on Saturday, Kayla Brown and her co-op ice hockey teams travels to Eastern Mass for a tournament game against Matignon High School.  Good luck to all our student athletes.

Tryouts for all spring season sports will begin on Monday, March 20th.  If you are interested in baseball, softball, boys and girls track and field, boys and girls tennis or boys volleyball please visit the family ID website to register online.  You must complete the online registration and have a complete and up to date physical exam on file with the school nurse in order to attend a tryout session.  An information meeting and an opportunity to meet the coaches will be held during both the high school and middle school Student Life periods for boys and girls track and field this morning.  We will announce the room later this morning.

Attention varsity student athletes in the Class of 2018 – Would you like an athletic jacket?  Free of charge?  Well the Booster Club would like to buy one for you.  If you have earned or will earn a varsity letter this year and you are currently a junior – please stop by Mr. Campagna’s office to be measured for your jacket.

Conditioning for baseball and softball will be held again this Saturday with  baseball from 9:00 AM until 10:45 and for softball from 10:15 until noon.

Congratulations to both your boys and girls varsity basketball teams as they have each earned a bid to the MIAA tournament.  The girls are the 6th seed and will play here tomorrow night at 7:00 PM.  The boys earned the number one seed and they will play here on Thursday at the same time.  Doors open at 6:00 PM for each event and the admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.  Season ticket and other free passes will not be honored at either event.  Good luck to both teams!

Your boys’ varsity basketball team bounced back from their Longmeadow loss as they defeated Belchertown in a one-sided game last night.  Aaron Williams led the offensive charge with 26 points and Souleymane Diaby had 10 points off the bench.  The jv team lost a close contest in the preliminary.  An’janae Washington had 13 points, but the girls varsity basketball team lost to Belchertown on the road and the jv girls dropped their contest at Belchertown.  Amani Smith and Tatianna Skarzynski provided the offensive leadership.  Tonight the girls travel to Amherst and on Friday it’s senior night for the guys as they host Minnechaug.  Let’s get out and fill the stands with Bulldog fans!
