Daily Announcement from 9/26

Your girls freshmen volleyball team dropped a close, exciting match to Tantasqua Regional High School yesterday by a score of 2 – 1.  Lanaya Greene and Ciera Rivera led the way, but it was a total team effort.  All outdoor games were postponed due to the weather.  Today we have the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams here beginning at 4:30 PM, while the freshmen volleyball team travels to Holyoke.  Tomorrow the boys jv soccer team entertains Putnam, while the girls soccer teams travel to Easthampton High.  Good luck to all our teams!
Don’t forget Homecoming this Saturday.  The action gets going at 9:00 AM and will continue with athletic events, food, booths and fun for all until 2:30 PM.  Come early and stay late.  There is no admission for the day!
Want to play a winter sport?  The online registration will open on the family ID website on Monday for boys and girls basketball, wrestling, cheerleading and new this year – indoor track and field.  Information meetings for each sport will begin next week.  We will provide the dates and times as it gets closer.

Daily Announcement

Your boys varsity basketball team took home a hard fought victory over Mount Greylock here on Saturday by a score of 59 – 54.  The guys dug an early hole for themselves falling behind by 11 points in the opening three minutes of play.  But a team style effort and a no quit attitude gave the guys the win as they advance to play at UMass on Tuesday in the Western Mass semi-final game.  Tre Hodge led the way on Saturday with 19 points, while Aaron Williams added 11 to lead a balanced offensive effort.  The guys will play tomorrow at UMass in an 8:00 PM game.  Tickets for the event are $10 for adults and $7 for students.  Congratulations also go out to the cheerleading team on their successful defense of their Western Mass championship.  The girls will now compete for the State Championship next Sunday out at Whitman Hanson High School.   Good luck to all!  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Preseason track conditioning will begin this Thursday from 5 – 7 pm.  You may not remain after school.  You must go home and return for conditioning.

Tonight the tournament basketball has been postponed. The guys are home with a 2:00 PM tip tomorrow against Mount Greylock Regional High School. Sunday, the Cheerleader go for Western Mass Title at Holyoke High School. Doors open at 9am and the girls performed at 10am. Come cheer them on.

Daily Update

Congratulations to the boys’ basketball team on their third place seed for the Western Mass MIAA tournament.  The guys have earned a first round bye and won’t play until Friday of this week.  They will be right here with a 7:00 PM tip against the winner of a play-in game.  Tickets for the MIAA event will be $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults.   There will not be any free passes to the event.  Doors open at 6:00 PM.  Let’s try and fill the stands for the game!  Congratulations also to the varsity cheerleading team on their league championship victory yesterday in the invitational event.  The girls are now primed and ready to defend their Western Mass banner this coming weekend.  Finally, congratulations to Christian Rivas who took home a third place trophy in the All-Sates, All Divisional wrestling championships this past weekend.  Finally, congratulations to Kayla Brown and her co-op ice hockey team, as they host an opening round game tomorrow night at the Olympia in West Springfield.  Good luck to all!

Congratulations to the boys’ basketball program as they swept three games from Agawam yesterday.  The varsity scored a come from behind win with a torrid fourth quarter of play to take the 66 – 56 win on the road.  Aaron Williams had 26 points, while Tre Hodge had 14 and Jaren Suttles added 11.  The jv guys had another solid win in the preliminary game as Taj Wheeler knocked down 18 points and Jalen Coates added 14.  Finally in the freshmen game here at school, it was Robert Scoville with 20 points and Darin Smith and Sandro Diaz with 14 and 11 respectively to give the guys a 79 – 43 win.  Today it’s the girls jv and varsity basketball teams getting up to Granby and the boys’ freshmen are here again against Tantasqua in a 4:00 PM home contest.   Later today we have seven wrestlers competing for the Division 3 state title in Eastern Mass and the cheerleading team travels to another invitational meet this weekend in preparation for the Western Mass championship the end of the month.  We have a number of home basketball games next week including senior nights for both the boys and girls teams.  Home games are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission at home games is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is always admitted free to all regular season home games.

Congratulations to your boys’ varsity basketball team as they defeated South Hadley last night on the road by a score of 77 – 57.  The win ensures the guys of an invitation to the MIAA Western Mass tournament which begins late this month.  Tre Hodge (19), Aaron Williams (17), Jaren Suttles (16), Soulemayne Diaby (14) and Ki-Sean Johnson (8) highlighted a very balanced offensive effort.  The jv guys also took home the win in the preliminary game as Taj Wheeler had 15 points and Kevin West added 10 for the guys.  The girls varsity basketball team dropped their game at Palmer.  Paris Lizana had 13 points and Amani Smith added 9. Congratulations to Christian Rivas, Khadir Zachery and Jalen Rogers as they each took home the Western Mass Championship honor in this past weekend’s MIAA Regional Championship match.  Congratulations also goes to the entire team on their second place finish in the tournament.  Rivas, Zachery and Rogers, along with Nehemiah Johnson, Jacob Dagenais, Xavier Reyes and Jason Alves all qualified for the State wide championship tournament to be held this coming weekend.  Good luck to all!  Congratulations also goes to the boys varsity basketball team on their exciting win over Easthampton on Friday.  Jaren Suttles, Soulemayne Diaby, Aaron Williams and Tre Hodge each had double figures in a very balanced scoring night.  The guys moved closer to earning a post season invitation with the divisional victory.  It was a good weekend all around as the junior varsity cheerleading team took home first place in their competition on Sunday.  Congratulations to the girls on their first win!  There are no games scheduled today, but tomorrow will see the boys basketball teams looking for a tournament clinching win as they travel to South Hadley for games at 5:30 and 7 PM, while the girls basketball teams travel to Palmer for games at the same times.  Thursday and Friday it’s the boys and girls basketball teams on the road and the boys freshmen team is here both afternoons.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is admitted free to all regular season home games.

Your boys’ varsity basketball team inched closer to a post-season tournament bid with their 70 – 53 win over Minnechaug last night.  Soulemayne Diaby had 21 points and Aaron Williams had 19 points to go with 17 rebounds as the guys kept a solid hold on second place within their league.  The jv guys also took home the win with Jalen Coates (13 points) and Jalen Thomas (10 points) leading the offensive effort.  The freshmen guys made it a sweep over Minnechaug as they took a 61 – 31 win on the road.  Darin Smith had 15 points and Davian Alban added 12 in the win.  Today the guys get right back at it with a jv and varsity home game against Easthampton High. Your boys freshmen basketball team recorded a 58 – 45 win over West Springfield yesterday as Sandro Diaz had 16 points to lead the guys.  Sydney Borges and Darin Smith added 13 and 11 points respectively to lead a balanced afternoon of play.  The jv guys picked up a solid team win last night as Gabriel Perez had 19 points and Kevin West added 10 to pace the guys to the road win at West Springfield.  The varsity guys couldn’t get it going and they lost in the main event.  Tonight is senior night for the wrestlers as they host Minnechaug here at 7:00 PM and the girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Amherst for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow the girls freshmen are here at 4:00 PM and on Thursday and Friday it’s the guys hosting Minnechaug and Eaathampton with the jv games tipping at 5:30 PM.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is admitted free to all regular season home games.

Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team on their 47 – 30 team win over Hampshire Regional last night.  Christian Rivas, Khadir Zachery, Xavier Reyes, Jalen Rogers, Nehemiah Johnson, Jason Alves and Joshua Dagenais each recorded individual wins on the night,.  Your boys’ varsity basketball team made it two wins in a row as they defeated Minnechaug last night on the road.  Aaron Williams, Soulemayne Diaby and Jaren Suttles led the offensive charge.  The jv boys recorded the win in the preliminary game.  Jahmal Campbell, Jalen Thomas and Paul Roberts led the very balanced scoring for the night.  Today it’s a girls’ day as the freshmen team travels to Gateway, while the jv and varsity entertain Ludlow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow the wrestlers try and keep their undefeated streak alive as they are here against Southwick and the girls freshmen go back to back as they travel to Pioneer Valley Reginal High School.   Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to your wrestling team as they picked up four team wins on Saturday out at Mt. Everett High School.  Jalen Rogers, Khadir Zachery, Jacob Dagenias, Christian Rivas, Anthony DeCasse and Nehemiah Johnson each recorded four individual wins as well.  Your girls’ varsity basketball team dropped a competitive game to Amherst on Friday.  Amani Smith had 11 points to lead the way, while Sydney Barklow and Safaire Bryant had 9 points apiece.  Today your boys’ freshmen basketball team will entertain Minnechaug here at 4:00 PM, while the jv and varsity teams will travel to Minnechaug.  Your wrestling team gets right back at it with a match out at Hampshire Regional.  Tomorrow it’s a girls’ day as the freshmen team travels to Gateway, while the jv and varsity entertain Ludlow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  On Wednesday the wrestlers are here against Southwick and the girls freshmen go back to back as they travel to Pioneer Valley High School.   Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Souleymane Diaby had 21 points and Jaren Suttles chipped in with 18 as your boys varsity basketball team opened their league season with a 70 – 56 win over West Springfield High here last night.  They guys used a high energy end-to-end defensive set to take control of the game early on.  Aaron Williams had 12 points and Tre Hodge 8 in the total team effort.  James Gonzalez had 22 points and Taj Wheeler added 10 as the junior varsity basketball team took the win in the preliminary game.  The boys freshmen team dropped a tight contest on the road by a score of    35 – 30.  Josh Colon led the Bulldog scoring.  Tonight we have your girls jv and varsity opening their league season as they each will entertain Amherst High and tomorrow we have your wrestlers getting out to Mt. Finally, preseason athletic conditioning will take place tomorrow morning for girls from 9 – 11 AM and for boys from 10 – noon.  The open gym is being sponsored by the softball and baseball teams but is open for anyone interested in attending.

Kevin West had 15 points and Taj Wheeler and Dom Spradley added 11 and 10 points respectively as your boys jv basketball team scored a hard fought win over Sci-Tech last night.  The varsity lost in the feature game despite a career high offensive night from Jaeden Herd.  The freshmen team also lost to Sci-Tech in a closely contested game.  Sandro Diaz, Erik Bass and Davian Albano led the balanced offensive effort.  Today your girls are back in action as they host South Hadley and the freshmen boys travel to Tantasqua and the wrestlers travel to Gateway Regional.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Christian Rivas and Jalen Rogers each took home the top honors at the Tomkiel Invitational Wrestling Meet at Agawam over the vacation.  Khadir Zachery and Jason Alves earned second place finishes as our wrestlers were solid overall in the tournament.  Jalen Suttles had twenty plus points twice over vacation and Paris Lizana went off for 21 points, but both the boys and girls varsity basketball teams could not break into the win column over the break.  Things get right back into action beginning tomorrow as the wrestling team is home for a 7:00 PM match and the boys jv and varsity basketball teams will travel to Putnam.  On Thursday the girls jv and varsity basketball teams are here against South Hadley and Friday has the boys basketball teams matching up with Holyoke High.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
