Congratulations to your girls varsity volleyball team on their straight set victory over Greenfield yesterday.  Markina Ako-Brew, Julia Guilbert and Hannah Brooks led the way for the girls who improved their season record to 2 wins and 1 loss.  The junior varsity girls recorded a 2 – 1 win in the preliminary match with Brianna Martinez and Angelica Colon leading the way.  Your girls varsity soccer team recorded a 2 – 2 draw at Mahar Regional yesterday.  Tatianna Skarzynski and Avalon Mateo recorded the scores for the Lady bulldogs, while Kayla Brown was once again outstanding in the net. The junior varsity girls earned a 1-1 draw as Aji Blackman scored the girls lone goal.  Bailey Barlow, Amanda Odom and Cabielyn Gagnon were strong for the girls.  Today your girls’ volleyball team is home at 5:00 PM in the primary school gym and the cross country team has a meet against Putnam at Forest Park beginning at 4:00 PM.  Also the golf team gets over to Ware and both the boys soccer teams travel to Hopkins Academy.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to your golf team as they recorded their first win of the new season with a 185 – 256 victory over Central.  Michael Bushey and Austin Benoit recorded identical scores of 38 to pace the Bulldogs in a solid win.  Jaylyn DeBois had a 53 on the day.  Your girls varsity soccer team took home a 1 – 1 draw on the road at Southwick yesterday.  Alexia Williams had the lone goal and Kayla Brown had 16 saves in the nets.  The jv girls fell by a 2 – 0 score despite solid play by Bailey Barlow, Amanda Odom, Grace Wells, Grace Blasé and Sydney Borders.  Today the girls soccer teams travel to Mahar Regional and the girls volleyball teams travel to Greenfield High.  Tomorrow your girls’ volleyball team is home at 5:00 PM in the primary school gym and the cross country team has a meet against Putnam at Forest Park beginning at 4:00 PM.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Congratulations to both your cross country teams as they each swept their tri-meet with Sci-Tech and Smith Vocational High School.   An’janae Washington finished first overall in the girls meet, while Tanialyz Almenas,  Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin, Sara Miranda and 7th grader Nadia Nowicki each took home top 10 overall honors on the afternoon.  On the boys side it was Amadi Pendleton taking home top overall honors, while Stephan Heathman, Nick Audette and Nathan Colon finished in the top 10 overall to record points for the guys.  Today we have the first games here on campus as both your boys and girls varsity soccer teams will host Hampden Charter School of Science beginning at 4:00 PM.   Your boys jv soccer team will travel to Hubbard Park to match up with Putnam and the golf team gets up to Frontier Regional.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

The fall athletic season kicks off this afternoon when your girls volleyball teams travel to Pioneer Valley and the golf team entertains Granby High over at Veterans Golf Course.  The Cross Country teams open their seasons tomorrow at Forest Park. Time is running out for students in grades 7 – 12 to register online for cheerleading, basketball or wrestling for the winter season.  Cheerleading tryouts will be held next Monday and basketball and wrestling just two weeks from today.  Remember- there will be no exceptions.  You need to register online now in order to be sure we can clear you for tryouts.  Cut off for registration is this Friday.  Please see Nurse Dupuis if you have questions about your current physical exam or see Mr. Campagna about how to register.

There will be no basketball strength and conditioning sessions tonight.  They will resume on Wednesday.  Again, no preseason strength and conditioning sessions tonight, but they will return on Wednesday.

Your girls varsity volleyball team were eliminated from post season play last night with a 3-0 loss to Frontier Regional.  Julia Guilbert, Jayla Latham and Julissa Arce were solid in the loss.  It was a great season for the girls who really turned things around from last year.  Thanks for a job well done!  Your cross country teams will compete this Saturday in the MIAA regional race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Let’s get out there and cheer our boys and girls on!  Good luck to all.

Markina Ako-Brew and Mykaela DeBrito led the way last night as your girls varsity volleyball team earned a hard fought 3-2 win over South Hadley in the opening round of the MIAA Regional tournament.  Ako-Brew had 33 digs and DeBrito added 19 assists in the win.  Remani Lizana and Suwayna Rowe were solid all night, but it was the huge block by Jayla Latham that helped ensure the girls’ win.  Their next game is Monday at Frontier Regional High School with a 6:30 PM match.  Let’s get up there and cheer these girls on!  Today is the all-city cross country meet.  Good luck to the girls and the boys teams.

All Sabis runners ran personal best times at this past weekend’s PVIAC cross country championship meet at Stanley Park in Westfield.  An’janae Washington set a new Sabis course record as she finished 29th overall in a field of 215 runners.  Congratulations to all our cross country runners!  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 2-0 game at Southwick on Friday and ended their hopes for an invitation to the MIAA tournament.  Sarah Brown was solid in the nets.  Your jv girls dropped a 4-1 decision with Takeeyla Jackson netting the game’s only goal.  We will learn tomorrow when and where your girls volleyball team will play their opening round game of the tournament.  Good luck, girls!  Let’s be sure to get out there and cheer the Bulldogs on!

An’janae Washington established a new Forest Park school record yesterday as she took first place overall to lead the girls cross country team to a league win over Sci-Tech.  The win was Washington’s 7th of the season and placed the girls in a first place tie in their league standings.  Eliza Mullin, Briana Alvarado, Tianna Scott and Isabella Hookailo finished in the top ten on the afternoon.  The boys lost two closely contested contests yesterday as Nick Audette finished 3rd overall and first for your Bulldogs.  Your girls varsity soccer team lost to Chicopee last night by a 3-0 score.  They will need to win their game at Southwick on Friday to earn an MIAA tournament bid.

Today your volleyball teams close out their regular season as they travel to Easthampton and if the rain holds off both boys soccer teams will conclude their seasons with games here at 4:00 PM against Athol.  Let’s be sure to get out there and cheer the Bulldogs on!

Your girls varsity volleyball team moved to within one win of qualifying for the MIAA post season tournament with their sweep over Southbridge yesterday.  The girls were led by Kassandra Diaz, Suwayna Rowe, Hannah Brooks and Remani Lizana.  The jv girls took a 2-1 win in the preliminary game thanks to the strong play by Aurora Garcia and Niyah Miller.  Your boys varsity soccer team dropped an exciting 4-3 game on the road to St. Joseph’s High School last night.  James Gonzalez recorded two goals and Premere Long had the other as the guys fell a bit short of victory.  Your girls varsity soccer team lost a 5-0 contest to Monson.  Both the girls and boys cross country teams defeated Chicopee yesterday.  An’janae Washington won her 7th race of the season with a new Chicopee State Park course record, while Tanialyz Alemnas, Brianna Alvarado and Eliza Mulin also placed for the win.   Amadi Pendleton, Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert and Nate Colon placed in the top 10 finishers for the guys

Today we have no games scheduled, but tomorrow we have the boys soccer teams getting up to Frontier Regional and the girls varsity volleyball team trying to earn their tournament bid with a match at Dean Tech.

Your boys varsity soccer team earned a one-sided win over Public Safety Academy yesterday thanks to 3 goals by Shayn Audet and Medhi Akram.  Dariel Santana recorded the shutout in the nets.  Your jv boys lost by a 6-1 score.  Anthony Britt had the lone score for the guys.  The varsity volleyball team lost a 3-1 heartbreaker to South Hadley yesterday.  Selena Zayas, Markina Ako-Brew and Jayla Latham were solid in the loss.  The jv lost in the preliminary by a 2-1 score.  An’janae Washington won her fifth race of the season as your girls cross country team defeated Pioneer Valley Regional and Hopkins Academy.  Washington established a new Sabis record for the Pioneer course.  Tanialyz Almenas and Brianna Alvarado finished second and third overall in the race.

Today we have the girls soccer teams here against Sutton High School beginning at 4:00 PM and the boys soccer teams travelling to Hopkins Academy.

Congratulations to your girls varsity soccer team on their 1-0 win over Holyoke Catholic yesterday.  Avalon Mateo scored the game’s only goal and Sara Brown recorded the shutout in the nets.  Your girls jv team took a 4-0 win with goals by Takeela Johnson, Sydney Borders, Taleah Hayes and Aniyah Forbes.  Both the boys and girls cross country teams lost to Belchertown yesterday.  An’janae Washington won her fifth race of the season as she set a new Sabis course record on the 2.8 mile course at Foley field.  Tanialyz Almenas finished second for Sabis and 8th overall.  Amadi Pendleton was 11th overall and first for our guys.    Your golf team lost to Smith Academy Michael Bushey once again recorded the low score for the Bulldogs.

Today we have girls soccer at home against Mahar Regional and the boys varsity soccer team at Hampden Charter School and both volleyball teams at Holyoke high.  Tomorrow it’s the volleyball teams here at home and the boys soccer teams and the golf team on the road.

A special thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend’s Harvest Games a real success.  An’janae Washington finished first overall and Taniallyz Almenas second as your girls cross country team moved to 5-0 on the season with wins over HCSS and Granby High.  Eliza Mullin (6th overall), Brianna Alvarado and Sara Miranda rounded out the top 5th Sabis finishers.  Your boys cross country team lost to Granby, but took home a win from HCSS.  Amadi Pendleton was first overall for the guys.  The boys varsity soccer team lost to South Hadley by a 2-0 score.  Shayne Audet was solid in the nets.  Justin Pierce scored the game winning goal with less than 30 seconds to go in the jv soccer game as the guys beat South Hadley 3-2.  Noah Valentine and Antonio Rivera scored earlier in the match.  Your girls varsity soccer team earned a 0-0 tie against Holyoke with Sara Brown recording the shutout in the nets, while the jv girls lost a close match.  The varsity volleyball team fell to Ludlow 3-1.  Suwayna Rowe and Danielle Wilson played well in the loss.  Aysha Miller was solid as the jv girls took a 2-1 win over Ludlow in the preliminary.

Congratulations to your varsity golf team as they defeated Pathfinder Regional yesterday by a score of 16 – 8.  Haley Long and Chris Fay swept their individual matches and each of the other golfers got on the scoreboard in the team effort driven victory.  Your girls cross country team took home wins against both Central and Renaissance yesterday as An’janae Washington finished first overall and Tanialyz Almenas second overall to lead the girls to the win.  Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin and Sara Miranda also finished in the top 10 overall.  Your boys cross country team split in their tri-meet with Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert and Amadi Pendleton taking the top three spots for your Bulldogs.  Your boys varsity soccer team lost to Easthampton, while the JV guys lost 3-1 with Justin Pierce scoring the only Bulldog goal.

Today the golf team gets back into action with a home match against Smith Academy and tomorrow we have the golf team, both boys and girls soccer and the girls’ volleyball teams each on the road.  Friday is an off day for everyone as we get ready for the Homecoming games.  Let’s get out there and support your teams!

Remember – this Saturday is Homecoming and we’ve got games with our athletic teams beginning at 9: 30 am and plenty of good food and booths from each of the classes.  Plan your day now – we hope to see everyone here on Saturday!

Congratulations to both the boys and girls cross country teams as they each opened their season yesterday with a win.  Anjanay Washington placed first overall as the girls took a decisive win over Putnam.  Brianna Alvarado, Sara Miranda, and Eliza Mullin each finished in the top five overall.  Your boys were led by Amadi Pendleton who finished second overall and first for your Bulldogs.  Nick Audette, Dylan Hibbert, Brandon Cavanaugh and Nate Colon rounded out the top Bulldog runners.  Your boys varsity soccer team fell to Athol on the road, while the jv dropped a 7-4 contest to Athol as well.  Evan Hill had 2 goals and Noah Valentine and Jeremy Townsend had a goal apiece in the loss.

Today the girls volleyball team tries to keep their winning streak alive with a home match beginning at 4:00 PM and the golf team entertaining Southwick over at Veterans.  Tomorrow will have the girls soccer team hosting Monson and the golf team matching up with Ware.  We close out the week on Friday with the boys soccer teams here against Hopkins and the volleyball teams travelling to Mohawk Trail.  Let’s get out there and support your teams!

Next week most of the other teams kick things off with the volleyball team here on Tuesday while the golf team entertains Hopkins Academy and the girls soccer teams travel to Lee. Wednesday will see the boys soccer team here at school against Frontier and the golf team taking on Frontier over at Veterans Golf Course and next Thursday your girls soccer team opens their home season with a game against Taconic and the golf team on the road.  The cross country team will continue to train as they open up the week of the 14th.   Let’s get out there and support your teams!

The Booster Club, along with the girls soccer team, will sponsor a middle school dance on Friday, 9/25 (the night before the Harvest Games) from 6 until 9 pm.  Admission is $5 per person and refreshments will be sold.

Fall Interscholastic Athletic Season

The fall interscholastic athletic season will begin on Thursday, August 27, 2015.

TRY OUT SCHEDULE:

Cross Country:  Thursday / Friday 8/27, 8/28:  4-6 at school.  Saturday, 8/29:  10 – noon at Forest Park (grandstand)

Boys Soccer:  Thursday / Friday 8/27, 8/28:  5-7 at school.  Saturday, 8/29:  TBD
Girls Soccer:  Thursday / Friday 8/27, 8/28:  3 – 5 at school.  Saturday, 8/29:  2 – 4 at school
Golf:  Thursday, 8/27:  1:45 – 4 at Veterans Golf, Friday, 8/28: 3:30 – 5:30 at Fenway Golf, Monday, 8/31: Tryouts or practice at Veterans right after school (transportation provided by students or family)
Volleyball (G):  Thursday / Friday 8/27 and 8/28:  3 – 6 in school gym

In order to attend these tryout sessions, students must complete the online registration for the sport (familyid.com) and must successfully complete the online concussion awareness course and have a valid (recent) physical exam on file with the school nurse. Registrations should include a contact number or email address in order that the coach notify all interested parties of the pertinent information.  Student must attend a tryout session in order to be considered for a competitive spot on a team.  MIAA regulations and school policy do not permit any exceptions to be made to these provisions.

Students must also ensure academic eligibility as defined in the Student Handbook to become eligible for play on any of the teams.

Team Updates – Tuesday, October 28th

There were no games scheduled yesterday.  Today we have the boys soccer teams closing things out with 4:00 PM games here against Frontier and on Wednesday, the girls soccer teams will travel to Frontier for games at 5:00 and 7:00 PM.  Let’s make plans to get out to the games and support your teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

We have some long-sleeved and some short-sleeved athletic shirts for sale.  These are used basketball warmups and range in price from $5 – $10.  If you are interested in purchasing any of these items, please see Mr. Reid or Mr. Campagna.

Please Note: Informational meetings for all winter athletic programs have been held for students in grades 7 – 12.  If you are interested in cheerleading, boys and girls basketball or wrestling, please see the coach or Mr. Campagna.  Remember, those were informational meetings only.  To register for tryouts, please visit the Family ID website or follow the link on the SABIS athletic site.  You must register online AND have a valid physical exam on file with the school nurse in order to attend the tryout sessions.  No exceptions will be made to this policy.  If you have any questions about your physical, please see Nurse Dupuis. 

Team Updates – Monday, October 27th

The boys varsity soccer team lost a 3-1 contest to Drury on Friday despite a solid game in the nets by Jacob DagenaisShayne Audet, the regular goal keeper played the field and scored the Bulldog’s only goal.

Your girls varsity soccer team celebrated senior day yesterday, but they fell to Southwick by a score of 3-0.  A special thank you to all the fans that came out to support the seniors in their final regular season home game.  Your jv lost by a score of 1-0.

Team Updates – Wednesday, October 22nd

gvcc-headerThe boys varsity soccer team fell to Hopkins yesterday on Senior Day.  Caleb Jenkins returned to the lineup and played well in the loss.  Your jv boys also lost to Hopkins by a score of 4-0.  The girls varsity volleyball team lost on the road to Belchertown by a 3-1 margin as Jayla Latham, Julia Guilbert and Suwayna Rowe played well.  The only victory of the day was earned by your jv volleyball team who beat Belchertown by a 2-1 score.  Cassandra Fairman, Jessica Pham, Gabriella Favreau and Tiffany Wilkinson were solid in the win.

Today it’s the volleyball team getting over to Ludlow High and tomorrow both the volleyball and the girls soccer teams are home and celebrating their won senior days.  All events begin at 4:00 PM.   Let’s make plans to get out to the games and support your teams.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
