Aaron Williams, Tre Hodge and Soul Diaby each went off for double figure scoring, but the boys varsity basketball team dropped their Hoophall game to Longmeadow High last Thursday night. Today we have the girls jv and varsity basketball teams here against Agawam High (5:30 PM tip) and the boys freshmen travelling to Ludlow for a 4:00 PM contest. Tomorrow it’s the wrestling team getting up to Hampshire and the boys’ freshmen basketball team travelling to Tantasqua. Thursday brings the boys jv and varsity basketball teams here against West Springfield and the freshmen team travels there. Let’s get some big crowds out there. Paris Lizana went off for 20 points last night, but the girls varsity basketball team dropped their game against South Hadley by a score of 56 – 39. Safaire Bryant collected 12 rebounds on her night’s work. The jv girls lost in the preliminary game Sauna Charles made it two double figure scoring nights in a row as she went off for 10 points. Crystal Santana chipped in with 6 in the loss. Your girls freshmen team lost over at South Hadley. The boys freshmen team got 8 points from Darrin Smith and Isaiah Ramos, but they could not overcome their early deficit and lost to Tantasqua by a score of 53 – 45.

Jaren Suttles had a career high 30 points and Aaron Williams added 21, but the boys’ varsity basketball team dropped an exciting game to Northampton by a score of 76 – 70 here last night. James Gonzalez had 11 and Taj Wheeler added 9 points for the jv in the preliminary contest. Your girls varsity basketball team lost a one-sided game at Chicopee. Amani Smith led all Bulldog scorers. Your jv girls dropped their contest. Sauna Charles led the girls scoring attack. Finally, it was the girls’ freshmen basketball team dropping their contest at East Longmeadow. Kaile Methe had 22 points to lead all scorers, while Salimata Diaby had 4 blocks and 5 points. Today we have both freshmen basketball teams in action with the girls here at 4:00 PM. Tomorrow the girls jv and varsity are here beginning at 5:30 PM. And the boys freshmen and jv basketball teams are over at Longmeadow High. Remember that staff will be admitted free of charge to any regular season home game and student tickets will be priced at $3.00 for all jv and varsity events and just $1.00 for an afternoon freshmen game. Other adult tickets are priced at $5.00. Season tickets are available for adults at $40.00 and for students at $20. There were no athletic games scheduled yesterday. Today we have the girls soccer teams here against South Hadley beginning at 4:00 PM. Tomorrow it’s your girls freshmen volleyball team travelling to Longmeadow High School for a full day of exhibition matches. Monday we have the girls soccer teams here against Easthampton High and it’s senior day for the varsity. We also have the cross country teams at Forest Park for a meet with Chicopee and Renaissance. Monday also will see the girls volleyball teams getting over to Belchertown and the boys soccer teams travelling to Mahar Regional High School. Good luck to all our teams. Informational meetings will be held for all winter interscholastic athletic teams beginning next week. Students in grades 7 – 12 are eligible to attend a session and tryout for a team. You must have a recent physical exam on file with the athletic trainer and you must be academically eligible. The meetings will be held during Student Life Activity period as follows:
Thursday, October 26th for both cheerleading and boys basketball.
Friday, October 27th for girls basketball and
Thursday, November 2nd for wrestling.
Registration will be open beginning Monday, October 30th on the family ID website.
Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a 3 – 1 contest here against Granby on Friday. Ajianni Blackman scored the Bulldog lone goal, from a Sydney Borders assist. Kayla Brown was solid in the nets. The JV girls earned a hard fought 1 – 1 tie as the only goal they surrendered was off a second half PK. Samantha Odom scored the Bulldog goal as she was assisted by Amani Smith. The varsity volleyball team came back from a 2 – 0 deficit to tie the match against Chicopee, but they couldn’t finish the come from behind storyline as they dropped a 3 – 2 exciting match. The jv also fell 2 – 1 to Chicopee. Jillian Lavender and Kylie Hatten were solid throughout. The freshmen volleyball team recorded a 3 – 0 sweep at Chicopee. Amaya Harris, Crystal Santana and Cearra Rivera paced the girls to the win. Today it’s the boys’ varsity soccer team hosting Greenfield and the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams entertaining Athol in the main gym. Tomorrow we have the golf team closing out their regular season with a home match against McCann Tech, the cross country teams entertaining Northampton and South Hadley and the girls varsity soccer team over at Renaissance. Your varsity golf team took home an exciting win yesterday over Westfield Technical Academy as Jaelyn DeBoise was once again the overall medalist with a 45. DeBosie and Haley Long had decisive individual wins to lead the team. Today we have the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams entertaining Chicopee, while the freshmen take to the road and girls soccer teams take on Granby High School with games beginning at 4:00 PM. Kayla Brown had nine saves, but it wasn’t enough as the girls varsity soccer team dropped a 2 – 0 contest at Amherst last night. Alyssa Padilla, Kiana Ramos and Amara Audette played well in the loss. The jv girls dropped the preliminary game by a 4 – 1 score. Kailie Methe was solid for our girls. The girls freshmen volleyball team dropped a 2 – 1 match to South Hadley to open the triple header here yesterday. The jv lost 2-1 as well, while the varsity fell in straight sets. Aurora Garcia and Zhalyn Burton played well in the loss. Today we have the golf team getting over to East Mountain Country Club to play Westfield Voke and tomorrow we have the girls volleyball teams and girls soccer teams here on campus with games beginning at 4:00 PM. It was a tough day for Bulldog athletic teams yesterday as the boys and girls cross country teams each fell to Belchertown on the road yesterday. The girls, depleted by a series of nagging injuries were led by Tanialyz Almenas who finished 4th overall. She was followed by Adriana Carmona and Stephanie Bergman to round out the top three Bulldog runners. The boys were led by Stephan Heathman, 4th overall, and Nick Audette, 9thoverall. Amadi Pendleton, Kevin West and Jahmal Campbell also ran solid races for the guys. The boys varsity soccer team dropped a competitive game to Lenox High School despite solid play in the nets by Kisean Johnson. The jv guys lost 4 – 3, despite two goals from Johnny Rusinque and a singleton from Justin Pierce. The lone bright spot yesterday was the freshmen girls’ volleyball teams’ come from behind win at Central. Zhane Holmes-Murphy and Narah Johnson played well to lead the girls. Finally, it was the varsity golf team who lost a close match to Mohawk Trail yesterday. Jaelyn DeBoise was the overall medalist. Haley Long also earned an individual win on the afternoon. Today our girls volleyball teams have a triple header in the main gym with the freshmen match getting things started a 3:00 PM. Congratulations to Jaelyn DeBosie on her 5th place finish overall in Western Mass Girls’ Golf Tournament. DeBosie and Haley Long represented our team in the tournament and both gave solid performances on the day. Congratulations also to your boys’ varsity soccer team on their 3 – 0 win over Smith Academy yesterday. Jovan Wallace had two goals and Dylan Hibbert added a third as the guys dominated the contest from the opening whistle. Defensively Dariel Santana was solid in the nets, while Anthony Lazzari anchored the defensive efforts. Finally it was your jv boys soccer team earning a one-sided win over Putnam yesterday as Josh Dunkelly went off for three goals to lead the charge. Jaelyn DeBosise recorded the low score of the afternoon as your varsity golf team swept Central High School to earn their third win of the season. DeBoise, Michael Green, Haley Long, Michael Scoville, Alexandria Barnard-Davignon and Zariah Green each won their individual match to pace the Bulldogs to the win. Congratulations to the JV volleyball team on their 2 – 1 win over Ware yesterday. Brianna Martinez, Jaida Bednaz and Nia Major were solid in the win. The varsity dropped their match to Ware despite a solid win in the opening set. Zhalyn Burton, Cassie Fairman and Tyleisia Cooper played well in the loss.
