Congratulations to your varsity volleyball team as they made it two wins in a row defeating Southwick by a 3 – 1 score.  Once again Austin Benoit was solid with 20 assists, 15 digs and 5 aces on the afternoon.  Kawuane Jackson, Ki-Sean Johnson and Aaron Williams each earned praise from the coaches on their fine performances.  Both the girls and boys track teams fell to West Springfield in opening season meets.  Tatianna Skarzynski took home top overall honors in both the 100 meter dash and the high jump.  Individual winners included Kailey elmasion, Eliza Mullin, Remani Lizana and Franchesca Diaz.  The boys tennis team dropped a 3 – 2 heartbreaker to Holyoke high as 7th grader Matthew Wraga swept the match at second singles and Chris Gonzalez and Matthew Elmasian took home the win at first doubles.  The boys get right back at it this afternoon if the weather cooperates with a match against PVCS.  Good luck to all our spring teams!  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Gabriella Harris won the 100 meter sprint and anchored the 4 by 100 relay as the girls’ track and field team defeated Pioneer Regional by a score of 87 – 57 yesterday.  An’janae Washington, Tianna Scott, Remani Lizana, Kayla Lazzari, Franchesca Diaz and Tanialyz Almenas also took home top honors to lead the girls to the victory.    Nathan Reed took home the win at second singles, but your boys’ tennis team lost to Westfield High by a 4-1 score and the girls tennis team dropped their match to Holyoke High despite wins at first and second singles by Abby Sullivan and Emma Smith.  Today we have both the baseball and the softball teams here at home with games beginning at 4:00 PM and the boys’ tennis team entertaining PVCA at Forest Park.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Brandon Cavanaugh was solid on the hill as your varsity baseball team earned an 8 – 2 win over Gateway yesterday.  Xavier Vegerano had three hits and three RBI as the boys kept their tournament hopes alive.  Armando Morales had 6 strikeouts on the mound as the JV baseball team earned an 11 – 2 win over Gateway as well.  Gianna Berardi and Hannah Brooks managed the only hits for the varsity softball team as the girls dropped a one-sided game to Ware.  The jv lost by mercy rule as well.  Your boys tennis team lost a league match to Greenfield by a 4 – 1 score.  Anh Nugyen took the team’s only point at first singles.  Today we have the girls track and field team taking on Pioneer, the boys tennis team getting over to Westfield High and the girls tennis team travelling to Holyoke.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Shayne Audet struck out 15 hitters and Sylvain Audet and Kyle Pingree knocked out three hits apiece as the varsity baseball team took a   6 – 1 win over Monson yesterday.  Armando Morales struck out seven, but your jv baseball team dropped a 4 – 3 game.  Your volleyball team took a   3 – 0 win over Dean Tech yesterday as they improved their season record to 7 wins and just 4 losses.  Hannah Brooks had two hits, but your varsity softball team lost a one-sided game to Granby.  The jv softball team played arguably their best game of the season as Asher Joseph was solid in the circle and Alexa Jacques and Juliette Theriault were flawless in the field.  Your girls tennis team swept Central and both the girls and boys track teams performed well in a multi-school meet at East Longmeadow.  Gabby Harris, Alizaya Clark and An’janae Washington took home top honors in the dash events in their dual win over Putnam, while Lashae Jackson took top honors in the 400 meter hurdles and Eliza Mullin won the long jump.  Today we have the baseball teams taking on Putnam and the girls softball teams entertaining Southwick.  The varsity volleyball team will get up to Smith Voke and both tennis teams are in action as well.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

 Informational meetings for the fall golf team will be held next Monday, May 9th during student life period.  We will announce the meetings for cross country, boys and girls soccer, and girls volleyball as soon as they are scheduled.

Lashae Jackson took home top honors in both the 100 meter and the 400 meter hurdles and Tatianna Skarzynski,  Alizaya Clark and An’janae Washington swept in the 100 , 200  and 400 meter dash events as the girls varsity track and field team took a one-sided win over Commerce on Friday.  Sarah Ledoux won both the mile and the two mile and the girls actually took home first place in every event.  Good job girls!  Today your volleyball teams will travel to Holyoke for games beginning at 4:00 PM, while the baseball and softball teams will each entertain Southwick if the weather permits.  We also have girls tennis scheduled today against Chicopee High. Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls track team opened their season with a convincing win over Sci-Tech yesterday.  Anjanae Washington took home top honors in the 400 meters and she was on the winning team for the 4 by 400 relay.  Remani Lizana won both the shot put and the discus, while Eliza Mullin was best in the high jump and Tiffany Alban tops in the javelin.  Other top performers in the meet were Sarah Ledoux, Tatianna Skarzynski, Alizaya Clark and Tanialize Almenas.  Your boys tennis team remained undefeated as they won an exciting 3-2 match over Turners Falls.  Ahn Nguyen, Nathan Reed and the first doubles team of Roberto Falvo and Chris Calvanese earned the win for the guys.  The varsity volleyball team lost a very competitive match at Commerce.  Nathan Johnson, Xavier Hines-Coombs and Austin Benoit were solid in the loss.  Your varsity softball team lost to Easthampton on a walk off hit in the 7th inning by a 10 – 9 score.  Kayla Brown had three hits, while Alyssa Padilla and Aemilia Rivera had two apiece in the loss.  The jv softball team dropped their game at Easthampton, despite solid play from Gianna Berardi, Gabriella Miranda and Asher Joseph.  Today we have the softball teams at home against McCann Tech and the girls tennis team entertaining Agawam.   Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Abby Sullivan lost a tie breaker and the girls’ varsity tennis team was swept by Central by a score of 5 – 0 yesterday afternoon. Today we have the boys track team getting over to West Springfield and the girls track team taking on Sci-Tech. Both meets get started at 4:00 PM. Your girls softball teams are travelling to Easthampton and the baseball teams are on the road at Hopkins Academy. Spring Season Tryouts

Spring Season Tryouts

Tryouts are scheduled as follows:

Tennis:  Boys’ and Girls’ Tennis will be held at Forest Park from 3 – 5 pm. While we will provide transportation to and from the Park on Monday, March 21st, students must arrange their own transportation on a regular basis.

Track and Field:  Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field will be held outside on school grounds from 3 – 5 pm  Once the teams have been selected some practices will be held on school grounds immediately after school and some practices will be held at AIC beginning at 5:30 PM.  On AIC practice days, student must leave campus and arrange their own transportation to AIC.

Volleyball:  Boys’ Volleyball tryouts will be held from 3 – 5 pm in the main gym at school.  On an ongoing basis, the varsity will practice most days from 3 – 5 pm and the junior varsity will practice from 5 – 7 PM.

Baseball / Softball:  Tryouts will be held on the athletic fields from 3 – 5:30 PM.  Once the teams have been selected, the coaches will distribute a practice schedule.  Most practices will be held immediately after school; however some regular practices may be scheduled on a weekend day.

Nathan Colon had a triple double last night as the boys varsity basketball team defeated Belchertown by a score of 76 – 46.  Colon had 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the guys to their win.  Justin Rennis had a double double as well.  Aaron Williams went off for 31 points and 12 boards as the JV guys took the preliminary game by a 61 – 49 score.  Kisean Johnson had a double double in the win as well.  Tonight, it’s the girls jv and varsity entertaining Belchertown and tomorrow it’s the Western Mass tournament for your wrestling team.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

The season begins for all sports on Monday, March 21st.  You must have a valid physical exam on file with the nurse and register online in order to be eligible.  Otherwise, all students in grades 7 – 12 are eligible to participate.  Register early.  We will be offering teams for baseball, softball, boys volleyball, boys and girls tennis, and boys and girls track and field.  See Mr. Campagna if you have any questions.

Preseason workouts for softball will continue this Saturday in the back gym from 12:30 – 2:30 PM.  Registration is not needed.  Just show up.

Tianna Scott had a double double, but your girls varsity basketball team fell to Chicopee Comp on Tuesday.  Last night it was the boys who lost a heartbreaker to Comp despite 20 points and 15 rebounds from Justin Rennis.  Christian Garcia-Nieves earned his 100th career win last night as the wrestling team took a league win over Hampshire Regional on Senior night.  Tonight your boys jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Belchertown and the girls freshmen team gets over to Chicopee.  Tomorrow, it’s the girls jv and varsity entertaining Belchertown.   Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Remani Lizana had 10 points and 11 rebounds and An’janae Washington added 11 points, but your girls varsity basketball team dropped a heartbreaker to Chicopee on Friday by a score of   33 – 32.  Xavier Hines-Coombs earned the 100th and 101st wins of his varsity wrestling career on Saturday at Frontier.  Congratulations to Xavier!  Tuesday your girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Chicopee Comp for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  The girls freshmen team will entertain Comp in the main gym with tip at 4:00 PM.  Wednesday is senior night for the wrestlers as they entertain Hampshire Regional.  Christian Garcia-Nieves needs just one win to earn his 100th win of his career.  And your boys’ varsity basketball team will travel to Comp for yesterday’s make-up game while they try to keep their hold on first place in the Suburban league standings.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

The boys varsity basketball team dropped a close game on the road yesterday to Agawam by a score of 49 – 39.  Jahleel Gabriel led all Bulldog scorers with 10 points.  Your boys freshmen basketball team staged a torrid fourth quarter as they defeated Agawam by a score of 49 – 37.  Donte Bolden had 20 points in the win.  Today your girls jv and varsity get up to Amherst and tomorrow your girls freshmen have the main gym game at 4:00 PM and the wrestlers travel to Southwick.  On Thursday, the guys basketball teams are here against South Hadley and on Friday, the girls get over to Chicopee High.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Your jv softball team earned a 20-10 win over Pathfinder yesterday as Nasia Torres pitched the complete game for the win.  Jillian Jacques scored four runs in the win.  The jv baseball team lost to Pathfinder by a score of 13-5.  Lorenzo Lugo and James Theriault played well.  Your girls tennis team lost to Holyoke by a 3-2 score.  Abby Sullivan won at first singles and Frankie Diaz and Jada Rogers took home the point at first doubles.  The girls track team cleaned up in the running events yesterday as Gabby Harris won at both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and Anjanay Washington took home top honors in the 400 meter race.  Erykah Morgan, May Ellen Manley, the 4 by 100 and the 4 by 400 relay teams each took home top honors as well.  Today it’s the softball teams making the trip to McCann Tech, boys tennis at PVCS and the varsity volleyball team entertaining Commerce here.  Thursday has the baseball teams travelling to St. Mary High.  The varsity is under the lights (7 PM start) at Bullens Field in Westfield.  Make plans to attend one of these contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

The second doubles team of Cassie Fairman and Nyah Seago took home the afternoon’s only points as your girls varsity tennis team fell to Belchertown by a score of 4-1.  There are no games or athletic events scheduled for today, but tomorrow we have a full slate of events as the softball teams are scheduled to open things here against Smith Academy, the girls tennis team travels to Northampton, the boys track team makes history with their first meet ever at Southwick and the volleyball teams travel to Belchertown.  Thursday has the softball team at home again against Gateway, the boys tennis team at Blunt Park against Sci-Tech and the girls track team gets things going at Central against Sci-Tech and Putnam.  Make plans to attend one of these early season contests.  Let’s get ready to fill the stand with Bulldog fans.
