Aaron Williams had 34 points and 24 rebounds to lead your boys’ varsity basketball team to a 74 – 71 win over Chicopee in the opening round of the Hoophall Classic at Springfield College last night.  Williams was solid on both ends of the floor as he hoisted the Bulldogs on his back to lead them to the impressive win.  Tre Hodge (!2 points, 6 boards and 3 assists) and Souleymane Diaby (14 points and 7 boards) were also solid throughout.  Ja’Quan Johnson gave an outstanding defensive effort in the team win for the Bulldogs.  Williams needs just 47 points to reach the 1000 point career milestone.
Today we have the boys and girls track teams up at Smith College for a regular season meet.

Davian Alban, Quintin Pellegrino Christian Rivas and Christian Kelly had impressive individual wins and the varsity wrestlers defeated Southwick by a score of 48 – 18 last night on the road.
Madeline Wyszynski had 16 points and 8 rebounds but your girls freshmen basketball team fell to Minnechaug yesterday by a score of 44 – 24.
It’s finally here!  Today is the opening day of the 2019 Hoophall Classic held at Springfield College and our guys varsity basketball team opens up the event with a 4:00 PM game against Chicopee High.  Advance tickets are sold out, but there will be plenty of tickets available at the door for $10.00.  Tickets are good for all games today.
Tomorrow your boys and girls indoor track teams travel to Smith College for their league.  Good luck to all!

Daily Announcement (1/10/19)

Davian Alban scored a huge pin at the 220 pound weight class to secure the league win for your varsity wrestling team last night.  Alban brought the crowd to their feet with his emotional solid win.
Today it’s all about basketball as the boys jv and varsity teams entertain Central here with games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  We are expecting a sellout crowd.  So get here early to be sure you get a seat.
Tomorrow the boys freshmen travel to Central and the girls jv and varsity basketball teams get over to Longmeadow.  Also tomorrow we have the boys and girls track teams in a meet at Smith College and on Saturday the wrestlers are in action on the road in a multi-school event at Taconic High School in Pittsfield.

Congratulations to the wrestling team as they earned  4 wins against one loss on Saturday at Franklin Tech.  Jalen Rogers, Christian Rivas, Xavier Reyes, Evan Tran and Christian Kelly were undefeated on the day.
Talia Thomas had a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, but your girls freshmen basketball team dropped a competitive game at Pathfinder on Friday.  Sauna Charles and Alexa Davis were the leading scorers, but the girls jv basketball team dropped their contest at Agawam on Friday before the varsity game where Paris Lizana had a game high six points in a one-sided loss.
The boys indoor track team fared well at Smith College on Friday as Eric Bass, Antonio Rivera, James Monts, Jason Daniels and Elijah Nixon each finished first or second in their events.  The girls dropped their dual to East Longmeadow.
Today we have the boys freshmen basketball team entertaining Sci-Tech here at 4:00 PM.  The jv and varsity teams will play at Sci-Tech beginning with a 5:30 PM jv game.  Tuesday has the girls freshmen basketball team here for a 4:00 PM game and the girls jv and varsity teams getting over to Chicopee for games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.  On Wednesday we have the wrestlers here beginning at 7:00 PM.  Finally – on Thursday – Central is here for 5:30 and 7:00 PM boys basketball games.  We are expecting a sellout crowd.  Be here early to ensure a seat.
Finally – it’s less than two weeks until Hoophall where our boys varsity basketball team will play Chicopee at Springfield College in a 4:00 PM game.  Tickets at the door are $100.00 each.  We do have some $6.00 discount tickets which are going fast.  See Mr. Campagna if you would like to purchase one or more tickets.

Your boys varsity basketball team dropped an 80 – 59 road contest last night at Holyoke High.  Aaron Williams had 18 points to lead the team, while Kisean Johnson added 14 in the loss.  Alex Williams, Dom Spradley and Rob Scoville led the way in the jv game as the guys managed to earn an exciting win over Holyoke in the preliminary game.  The boys freshmen basketball team lost a one-sided game against Holyoke High yesterday here in the main gym.  Jaylen Lovejoy had 12 points to lead the guys, while Matt Consedine added 11.
Today the girls freshman basketball team gets over to Pathfinder for a 3:30 PM game, while the jv and varsity girls teams travel to Agawam and the boys and girls track teams are in action up at Smith College.  Tomorrow it’s the wrestling team is in a multi-school event up at Franklin Tech.

Congratulations to your varsity wrestling team on their one-sided win over Gateway last night.
Today your boys freshmen basketball team entertains Holyoke here at 4:30 PM, while the jv and varsity teams travel to Holyoke for games at 5:30 and 7:00 PM.
On Friday, it’s the girls freshman team traveling to Pathfinder for a 3:30 PM game and the jv and varsity teams get over to Agawam for games at 5:30 and 7:00PM.
Friday also sees your boys and girls indoor track teams up at Smith College for a 6:45 PM meet.  Over the weekend the wrestlers travel to Franklin Tech for a multi-school event on Saturday.
The boys varsity basketball team will be playing in the annual Hoophall Classic at Springfield College on Thursday, January 17th.  Tip is scheduled for 4:00 PM.  Tickets are available here at school for just $6.00.  They will cost $10.00 at the door.  We will sell these out early,  See Mr. Campagna if you’d like to purchase some tickets.

It was a busy vacation for your winter season athletic teams as your boys varsity basketball team earned wins over Commerce and Longmeadow. Aaron Williams had 22 points in the Longmeadow win, while Tre Hodge and Kisean Johnson added 12 and 11 points respectively.
 
The girls varsity basketball team improved their record to 6 wins against just one loss on the season with vacation wins over Paolo Friere and Hampshire Regional. Alicia Mitchell had 14 points – 12 in the 4th quarter – to lead the girls over Hampshire, while Safaire Bryant had 19 points and Mitchell had 10 in the Paolo Friere contest.
 
Your wrestling team earned a top five finish against teams from all divisions in Agawam’s Phil Tomkiel tournament. Christian Rivas and Jalen Rogers took home first place finishes in the event, while Xavier Reyes and Quintin Pellegrino finished 3rd and 4th overall respectively.
 
Today we have the varsity wrestling team here at home against Gateway Regional with things getting going at 7 pm. Tomorrow we have the boys jv and varsity basketball teams traveling to Holyoke, while the freshman team is here for a 4:30 PM contest. On Friday all three girls basketball teams are on the road and both track teams get back into action at Smith College. Let’s get out there and cheer our student athletes on to victory!

Rhayanna Shubrick had 17 points, but your girls freshmen basketball team lost a hard fought game here against Minnecahug.  It was your girls’ season opener.  Today the girls freshmen head out to Athol to open their road season.
Today also has the boys and girls indoor track teams up at Smith College and tomorrow our wrestling team is at Longmeadow for a tournament style event.  Best of luck to all our teams.
Next week is a big one for many of our teams as the girls basketball team entertains Belchertown on Tuesday and your boys basketball team travels to Mount Greylock on Tuesday and entertains Putnam here on Thursday.  Next Saturday morning the wrestling team entertains John J. Congratulations to your boys’ varsity basketball team on their 70 – 56 win over Northampton on the road on Friday.  Souleymane Diaby had 22 points and Aaron Williams added 20 to lead the guys to their opening day victory.  The jv boys earned a one-sided win in the preliminary with Alex Williams, Sydney Borges and Rob Scoville each going for double figures offensively.  The freshman boys basketball team dropped their afternoon game despite a solid effort from Matt Consedine who had 17 points in the loss..
Your wrestling team swept their Saturday matches with three straight team wins.  Davian Alban, Evan Tran and Ryan O’Connor earned their first career varsity wins, while Xavier Reyes, Christian Rivas and Quintin Pellegrino went undefeated for the day.
Both the boys and girls indoor track teams opened their inaugural seasons up at Smith College on Friday.  Gabriela Harris finished second in the 55 meter dash and Vannessa Williams had a second place finish in the shot put.  For the guys Siare Barklow, Elijah Nixon and Kofi Abyei Yeboah each recorded second place finishes on the afternoon.
Today the girls varsity and jv basketball teams open their season on the road at Turners Falls and tomorrow the boys open their home season with games tipping at 5:30 PM against South Hadley.  The Student Life Organization is planning a party type atmosphere for Tuesday’s game.  A DJ will lead the music and the cheerleaders will be at both games.  Wear white to show support.  Tickets are $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults  Sabis staff are admitted free to all regular season home games.  Long sleeved white Bulldog athletic tee shirts will be available for sale for just $15.00 at the game!

Congratulations to your varsity softball team on their 9 – 0  win over Monument Mountain on Friday.  With the win the girls improved their season record to 10 wins against just 2 losses and they earned an invitation to the MIAA postseason tournament which begins early in June. Jayden Dow was solid in the circle as she pitched the complete game shutout registering 13 strikeouts while allowing just two hits.  Bailey Barlow led a balanced offensive team effort.  Your girls varsity tennis team lost to Mohawk Trail Regional on Friday.  Beyonca Twiggs and Rhayanna Shubrick took home the only team point at first doubles.  Your boys varsity baseball team defeated Southbridge High on Saturday by a 6 – 3 score, while the jv also earned a win at Southbridge thanks in part of Donavan Dulude who pitched well in his mound debut.  Bryan Trinh scored three times for the guys.  Congratulations to your boys varsity volleyball team as they also qualified for the MIAA tournament with their sweep over Ware High on the road.  Ki-Sean Johnson, Esias Valentin and Paul Roberts led the guys to the impressive road victory.  The jv guys also swept their match with Davian Alban, Devon Boreland, Ibrahim  Diaby and Evan Tran solid throughout.  Finally both track teams were impressive in their meet on Friday. Nehemiah Johnson, Siare Barklow, Nick Audette, Ethan Wells, Tre Hodge, Gabby Harris, Sydney Borders and Lashay Jackson were each very successful on the afternoon.

Your varsity softball team moved to within one win of qualifying for the MIAA tournament with their 7 – 2 win over Granby on the road yesterday.  Jayden Dow pitched the complete game to earn the win as the freshman scattered five hits while striking out seven hitters.  Amanda Odom, Alexa Jacques and Jada Ficarra were solid offensively for the girls.  The jv softball team dropped a competitive game at Granby as well.  Kailene Davis was solid in the circle for the girls.
Today we have a full slate of games if the weather cooperates.  The varsity softball team is here, while baseball and volleyball team s are each traveling to Ware and the girls tennis team and both track and field teams are on the road as well.  Good luck to all our teas!

The boys’ varsity volleyball team earned their 9th win of the season with a sweep over Southwick on the road yesterday.  Dylan Hibbert, Easias Valentin ad Ki-Sean Johnson paced the guys to their exciting win.  Aaron Williams, Joseph Torres, Jalen Thomas, and Paul Roberts were also solid in the win.  Jada Ficarra earned the complete game win as your girls varsity softball team won their 8th game of the season with a one-sided win over Southbridge High School.  Madeline Wyszynski, Kayla Brown, Alexa Jacques and Jayden Dow provided the offensive punch for the girls in the independent team win.  Kailene Davis pitched a shutout and she was solid at the plate as the jv softball team won their game over Southbridge as well. Your varsity baseball team dropped their home game to Commerce.

Aaron Williams moved into first place for most kills in Western Mass as the junior led your boys varsity volleyball tam to a come from behind 3 – 2 road win over Athol yesterday.  Williams recorded 15 kills for his day’s work, while Western Mass dig leader, Dylan Hibbert, (22 digs) kept things in sight for the guys.  Williams, Hibbert, Esias Valentin and Ki-Sean Johnson were solid throughout in yesterday’s big win.  Your jv team swept Athol in the preliminary match.  Nathan Curto, Ibrahim Diaby and Davian Alban were solid throughout, while Evan Tran recorded 6 aces.  Jayden Dow, Jada Ficarra and Kailene Davis combined to pitch a shutout as your varsity softball team improved to 6 wins and just 2 losses with a win over Renaissance School yesterday.  Amanda Odom, Aurora Garcia and Kayla Brown provided the offensive punch for the girls.  Emma Smith, Remie Jerard and Danielle Atayan swept the singles matches as your girls varsity tennis team took a 5 – 0  win over PVCS yesterday at Forest Park.  Finally your girls track and field team dropped a close meet to Holyoke High yesterday.  Gabriela Harris, Mikayla Thomas and Jaslyn Pham were individual winners on the afternoon.
Today we have both the boys and girls baseball and softball teams in action here at home.  The guys host Hampshire Regional and the girls have Central in the house.  Tomorrow both softball teams get right back at it with home games against Southbridge High, the varsity baseball team entertains Commerce, boys volleyball gets over to Southwick and the girls tennis team travels to Greenfield.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Your boys’ varsity volleyball team got back to their winning ways with a five set win over Belchertown on Friday.  Aaron Williams, Esias Valentin and Dylan Hibbert paced the guys to their come from behind win.  The jv guys took a 3 – 0 win in the preliminary game as Devon Boreland, Ibrahim Diaby and Davian Alban were solid at the net and the team serving was excellent in the win.  Kayla Brown had two hits, including a home run and Bianca Marrero and Alyssa Padilla had three hits apiece as the varsity softball team earned a 12 – 8 come from behind win over Smith Academy on Saturday.  Jayden Dow was strong in the circle to earn the win.  Today it’s the varsity softball team traveling to Marshall Roy for a game against Renaissance School, the volleyball team travels to Athol, the girls track and field team gets over to Holyoke High and the girls tennis team entertains PVCS at Forest Park.  Tomorrow all both baseball ad softball teams are in action with home games.  The baseball team takes on Hampshire Regional and the softball team has Central in the house.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Danielle Atayan won at third singles, while Beyonca Twiggs and Rhayanna Shubrick took home the honors at first doubles and Katie Sharpe and Venus Nguyen won in a tie breaker at second doubles to give the girls varsity tennis team a 3 – 2 win over Palmer High School yesterday.  The girls improved their season record to 4 wins and 2 losses as they are currently in first place in their league.  The varsity baseball team dropped a one-sided game at St. Mary yesterday.  Trey Faulkner had two hits and Brady Billings knocked out his first career varsity hit in the loss.
Today we have a heavy slate of games as the girls varsity softball team travels to Smith Academy, the girls track and field team gets over to Holyoke High, the baseball teams entertain Southwick and the volleyball teams are home against Belchertown High School.  Good luck to all our teams today.

Your boys varsity volleyball team gave the perennial state champion contender Westfield High School all they could handle, but our guys lost in straight sets.  Dylan Hibbert, Aaron Williams and Esias Valentin played well in the loss.  Today the varsity baseball team travels to Westfield to match up with St. Mary’s High School and the girls tennis team gets over to Palmer for a 4:00PM match.  Tomorrow the varsity softball team and the girls track teams on each on the road, while the boys volleyball teams and the baseball teams are home against Southwick High School.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans!

Congratulations to your girls’ varsity tennis team as they defeated St. Mary’s of Westfield by a   4 – 1 score yesterday.  Danielle Atayah and Rhyanna Shubrick won at second and third singles, while Beyonca Twiggs and Katie Sharpe took home the first doubles win and Venus Nguyen and Nyan Seago won at second doubles.  Your boys’ track and field team made it 2 wins and 0 losses on the year as they defeated Sci-Tech yesterday.  Leon Spradley took home top honors in the javelin, Tre Hodge was first overall in the 400 meter and Noah Valentine took home first place in the 800 meter run.  The triple jump saw a sweep by the Bulldogs!  Your boys’ varsity baseball team dropped a one-sided game to Ware High School.  Trey Faulkner recorded 7 strikeouts on the hill, while Gabe Perez and Jake Dagenais were solid offensively.  Today we have the girls track and field team and girls tennis teams in action and over vacation week we have all the teams playing.  Check out the schedules on Masslive or on our athletic website. The boys’ varsity volleyball team made it three wins in a row as they defeated Sci-Tech yesterday on the road by a 3 – 0 score.  It was a total team effort as Esias Valentin, Dylan Hibbert, Aaron Williams and Ki-sean Johnson led the way for the guys.  Joseph Torres and Darith Soeun were also solid.  The JV lost by a 2 – 1 score in the preliminary.  Your varsity softball team gave a game effort but they fell to Hopkins here at home by a 12 – 7 score.  The girls fell behind early and just couldn’t recover from the early deficit.  Alyssa Padilla and Jada Ficarra had two hits apiece to pace the offensive charge.  The jv girls lost over at Greenleaf despite a solid outing from Lillian Dow and Kaileen Davis.  Today – if the weather permits the baseball teams open their seasons with games at Hampshire Regional and tomorrow it’s Pope Francis visiting the varsity softball team for a 4 PM game.  Thursday sees the baseball teams opening their home seasons and the girls tennis team and boys track and field team get back into action.  We round out the week with the girls track and field team and girls tennis teams in action on Friday. Jayden Dow had 11 strikeouts and pitched a three-hit shutout as the varsity softball team earned a 6 – 0 win over Lee High School here on campus yesterday afternoon.  Amanda Odom had three hits and two RBI, while Kayla Brown and Bailey Barlow added two hits apiece to lead the offensive charge.  Today the jv and varsity softball teams will entertain Hopkins Academy with games beginning at 4 PM, while the boys volleyball teams get over to Sci-Tech and the girls track and field team takes on Putnam.  Tomorrow the baseball teams open their seasons with games at Hampshire Regional and on Wednesday it’s Pope Francis visiting the varsity softball team for a 4 PM game.  Thursday sees the baseball teams opening their home seasons and the girls tennis team and boys track and field team get back into action.  We round out the week with the girls track and field team and girls tennis teams in action on Friday. Your boys freshmen basketball team recorded a 58 – 45 win over West Springfield yesterday as Sandro Diaz had 16 points to lead the guys.  Sydney Borges and Darin Smith added 13 and 11 points respectively to lead a balanced afternoon of play.  The jv guys picked up a solid team win last night as Gabriel Perez had 19 points and Kevin West added 10 to pace the guys to the road win at West Springfield.  The varsity guys couldn’t get it going and they lost in the main event.  Tonight is senior night for the wrestlers as they host Minnechaug here at 7:00 PM and the girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Amherst for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow the girls freshmen are here at 4:00 PM and on Thursday and Friday it’s the guys hosting Minnechaug and Eaathampton with the jv games tipping at 5:30 PM.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is admitted free to all regular season home games.

Informational meetings for all spring sports will be held next week.  The boys’ volleyball meeting will be held on Monday, Boys and girls track and field on Tuesday, boys and girls tennis also on Tuesday, softball on Wednesday and finally it will be baseball next Thursday.  All meetings will take place during Student life Activity period.

Daily Update

Congratulations to your varsity volleyball team as they made it two wins in a row defeating Southwick by a 3 – 1 score.  Once again Austin Benoit was solid with 20 assists, 15 digs and 5 aces on the afternoon.  Kawuane Jackson, Ki-Sean Johnson and Aaron Williams each earned praise from the coaches on their fine performances.  Both the girls and boys track teams fell to West Springfield in opening season meets.  Tatianna Skarzynski took home top overall honors in both the 100 meter dash and the high jump.  Individual winners included Kailey elmasion, Eliza Mullin, Remani Lizana and Franchesca Diaz.  The boys tennis team dropped a 3 – 2 heartbreaker to Holyoke high as 7th grader Matthew Wraga swept the match at second singles and Chris Gonzalez and Matthew Elmasian took home the win at first doubles.  The boys get right back at it this afternoon if the weather cooperates with a match against PVCS.  Good luck to all our spring teams!  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
