Daily Announcement

Sauna Charles, Crystal Santana and Elizabeth Villa led a final two game comeback as the girls freshmen volleyball team defeated Chicopee High by a score of 2 – 1 here on Friday.  Charles served out the final points in the 16 – 14 deciding match.  The jv girls lost to Chicopee on the road by a 2 – 1 score.  Sydney Barklow, Genevieve Wellington and Kyra Scott played well in the loss.  The varsity girls lost in straight sets.  The golf team dropped their match to Pathfinder on Friday despite both Jaelyn DeBosie and Michael Green picking up individual wins on the afternoon.  Today  is a full day of competitions as the girls soccer teams will entertain Palmer and the volleyball teams will host Belchertown.  Your golf team matches up with Pathfinder again.  Golf begins at 3 PM and all other events will begin at 4:00 PM.

Daily Announcement (9/14/17)

Congratulations to your girls varsity volleyball team on their 3 – 0 sweep of Duggan Academy yesterday.  Zhalyn Burton had nine aces and Tyleisia Cooper had five kills to lead the girls to their convincing win.  Tre Hodge scored the Bulldog’s only goal off an assist from Jovan Wallace, but the boys varsity soccer team fell to Smith Academy by a 4 – 1 score.  The jv guys got two goals from Josh Dunkelly and one from Austin Le to take a 3 – 1 win in the preliminary.  Stephan Heathman took home top overall honors as the boys cross country team took home a win over Sci-Tech.  Amadi Pendleton, Nick Audette, Souleymane Diaby and Kevin West scored points to help seal the Bulldog win.  Your girls cross country team also defeated Sci-Tech as Sara Miranda, Brianna Alvarado, Eliza Mullin, and Nadia Norwicki finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th overall to ensure the team win.  Your girls varsity soccer team dropped a one-sided contest at Agawam.  Today we have the golf team taking on Central and tomorrow we have the jv and varsity volleyball teams over at Chicopee, while the freshmen team is in the main gym at 4:00 PM.  Your golf team will travel to Pathfinder to round out the week.

Jaelyn DeBoise shot a 41 to take home the best overall score, but your varsity golf team fell to Franklin Tech in the opening match of the season.  Michael Green and Isabella Escribano also recorded points for the Bulldogs.  The girls freshman volleyball team dropped a tightly contest 3 – 0 match at Minnechaug.
Today the corss country teams open things up at Forest Park, while the girls varsity soccer team travels to Agawam for a 6:00 pm game.  The girls varsity volleyball team will entertain Duggan here beginning at 4:00 PM.

Josh Dunkelly scored two goals, but it wasn’t enough as your boys’ jv soccer team dropped a  5 – 2 game to Palmer.  The varsity dropped a one-sided game to Palmer as well.  The girls’ varsity volleyball team was swept by South Hadley, while the jv girls dropped a closely contested 2 – 1 match in the preliminary.  Brianna Martinez, Nia Major and Genevieve Wellington were solid in the loss.   Your girls varsity soccer team fell by a score of 4 – 1 to South Hadley.  Kayla Brown had 16 saves and Sydney Borders scored the lone goal in the loss.  The jv girls dropped a 4 – 0 contest as Grace Blasé, Cabielyn Gagnon, Lynn Goodchild and Amani Smith gave good efforts.  The only team to earn a win yesterday was your freshmen girls volleyball team as they took a 2 – 1 win over South Hadley in their first ever match.  Coach Laflamme called the win a team effort!  Today your girls’ freshmen volleyball team travels to Minnechaug and the golf team opens up against Franklin Tech over at Veterans.  Tomorrow it’s opening day for the Cross Country teams as they are at Forest Park.  Other Wednesday contests include the varsity volleyball team at Duggan, the boys’ soccer teams at Smith Academy and the girls varsity soccer team travelling to Agawam.

Congratulations to your boys freshmen basketball team on their 48 – 36 win over Chicopee on Friday.  Paul Roberts led the way with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Gabe Perez added 12 points.  Yesterday, the varsity wrestling team was involved in a tournament at Whitman Hanson Regional High School.  Christian Rivas took home 4th place overall.  Today your boys freshmen basketball team is here against Chicopee Comp in a 4:00 PM game and the boys’ jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Comp for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  Tomorrow we have a freshmen double header with the boys opening things at 3:30 PM against Baystate Charter School and the girls entertaining East Longmeadow at 5:00 PM.  Tomorrow the girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to East Longmeadow High and the guys get over to Belchertown for games beginning at 5:30 PM.  Finally on Wednesday your wrestling team gets out to Gateway for a 7:00 PM varsity match.
A limited number of tickets remain on sale for the boys’ basketball game at Hoophall on Thursday of this week.  Tickets are $10.00 at the door, but are available here at school for just $6.00.  We will sell out.  See Mr. Campagna if you want to purchase any tickets.

We will hold an open gym for boys in grades 9 – 12 interested in basketball this afternoon and tomorrow from 3 – 5 pm.  Open gym for girls in grades 7 – 12 interested in conditioning for basketball will also be held today and tomorrow from 5 – 7 pm.  Conditioning for wrestling will also meet today and tomorrow from 3 – 4:30 pm.

The fall athletic season awards ceremony will be held on Monday, November 21st.  All are welcome to attend.

Emma Smith scored the game winner about six minutes into the overtime period and your girls varsity soccer team took a 2 – 1 win over Renaissance School on Friday to advance in the MIAA regional soccer tournament.  Smith scored off an assist from Avalon Mateo who also scored the game’s first goal.  Kayla Brown was solid in the nets and Franchesca Diaz anchored a successful defensive effort.  The girls get back at it today with a 2:00 PM contest at Granby High.  Congratulations to your girls cross country team for their repeat win in the All-City meet on Friday.  An’janae Washington earned the first place overall medal as she bettered her own course record by three seconds.  She was followed in the top ten overall by Tanialyz Almenas and Eliza Mullin.  At the PVIAC championship race on Saturday, An’janae once again led the girls as she finished 10th overall (out of 205 runners) and she shaved over 30 seconds off her previous best time at Stanley Park.  For the boys it was Stephan Heathman who finished 11th overall in the All-City race as he broke the 20 minute mark with a time of 19:45.  Over the weekend it was Stephan, Nick Audette and Amadi Pendleton who each turned in sub-20 minute times in the PVIAC championships.  Today the girls volleyball teams travel to Lee High School for the next round of play in their MIAA tournament and on Sunday both the boys and girls cross country teams are set to enter the MIAA championship race at Stanley Park in Westfield.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Your girls’ varsity volleyball team advanced to the second round of MIAA tournament play with a 3 – 0 sweep over Turners Falls last night.  The girls were dominant all evening as consistent team communication played the key to their success.  Mykaela DeBrito, Remani Lizana, Markina Ako-Brew and a host of others were solid in the win.  The girls get back into action on Monday night at 6:30 PM at Lee High School in the Berkshires.    The girls’ soccer team opens their MIAA tournament schedule today here at the school with a 3:00 PM game against the Renaissance School.  Admission is free and we are hoping for a large crowd.  Why not remain after school and head out to the varsity soccer field and cheer our girls on to a win.  The boys and girls cross country teams will enter the City Championships on Friday and the PVIAC meet on Saturday.  Good luck to all our teams.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

James Gonzalez and Gabriel Perez scored the goals, while the defensive effort from Shayne and Sylvain Audet, along with Nathan Velois and Jovan Wallace propelled the boys’ varsity soccer team to a 2 – 0 win over Hopkins on senior day yesterday afternoon.  The guys ended their season with a 7 – 10 – 1 record and just missed an invitation to the MIAA tournament.  The jv guys also earned a shutout win over Hopkins.  Christopher Harris and Elijah Nixon had two goals apiece in the win.  Today the volleyball match ups for the MIAA tournament will be released and tomorrow we will know the match ups for the girls soccer tournament.  Later this week the boys and girls cross country teams will enter the City Championships on Friday and the PVIAC meet on Saturday.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

In one of the most exciting volleyball matches in our school’s history, your girls varsity volleyball team downed Easthampton on senior night by a 3 – 1 score to earn a spot in the MIAA post season tournament.  It was a full team effort as Angie Gonzalez, Julia Guilbert, Markina Ako-Brew, Remani Lizana and a host of others gave outstanding performances to ensure the league win and the tournament invitation.  Congratulations to all for a job well done!  The jv girls lost in the preliminary match by a 2 – 1 score despite solid play from Brianna Martinez, Lauren Hunter, Nia Major and Vanessa Williams.   Today the boys’ soccer teams close out their regular season with their own senior day games against Hopkins Academy.  Finally, tomorrow the girls soccer teams have their senior day festivities with games at 11:00 AM against Southwick.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

An’Janae Washington took home top honors as your girls cross country team defeated Chicopee High in an exciting 28 – 29 race yesterday.  Washington was joined by Tanialyz Almenas (2nd overall), Eliza Mullin (6th) and Sara Miranda (7th overall with her personal best) to round out the top ten finishers.  The boys cross country team was shorthanded yesterday and they lost to Chicopee.  Nathan Colon finished second overall, while Jacob Evans was 8th for the guys.  Avalon Mateo had a goal and two assists as the girls varsity soccer team inched closer to an MIAA tournament invitation with a 4 – 3 win over Hampshire Regional last night.  Kayla Brown had 19 saves in the nets.  Tatiana Skarzynski, Frankie Diaz and Kailey Elmasion also recorded goals for the girls.  The jv soccer team fell 1 – 0 in the preliminary game.  The girls varsity volleyball team dropped their match to Ludlow in straight sets.  Remani Lizana and Markina Ako-Brew played well in the loss.  The jv girls fell 2 – 1 in the preliminary match.  Vanessa Williams and LeAudra Hayes-Phillips were solid in the loss.  Finally both the varsity and jv boys soccer teams lost to Lenox on the road yesterday.  Alex Williams scored the only goal for the guys.  There are no games scheduled today, while on Monday we will have the girls’ volleyball and the girls soccer teams each playing games here at school.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Attention all students.  The winter athletic season is just around the corner and information sessions for all winter sport teams will be held as follows:  Wrestling on Monday – October 24th  in room 211, boys’ basketball next Wednesday –  October 26th and girls basketball next Thursday –  October 27th.  All meetings will be held during your Student Life period.  The exact locations for both basketball meetings will be announced on Monday.  The family ID website is now open and you are welcome to register for cheerleading, boys or girls’ basketball or wrestling on the site.  Remember you must register online and have a current physical exam on file with the nurse in order to be eligible to attend a tryout session.

Premere Long scored the game’s only goal early in the second half as your boys varsity soccer team took a 1 – 0 win over Easthampton last night.  Shayne Audet recorded the shutout in the nets.  The win keeps the guys tournament hopes alive as they improved their season record to     6 – 8 – 1.  The jv guys lost in the preliminary by a score of 4 – 2.  Gabriel Gray and Jeremy Townsend scored the Bulldog goals.  The golf team closed out their season with a loss against Hopkins Academy.  Austin Benoit recorded the low score of the afternoon for Sabis.  Today no events are scheduled and tomorrow we have the volleyball teams here against Ludlow High and the cross country teams at Forest Park.  All four soccer teams will be on the road.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Avalon Mateo went off for four goals and your girls varsity soccer team earned a 4 – 0 win over Taconic on Saturday to keep their tournament hopes alive.  Kayla Brown and Bailey Barlow combined for the shutout in the nets.  Your boys’ varsity soccer team earned a   1 – 1 draw on Saturday up at Athol.  Gabriel Perez and Jovan Wallace combined for the goal, while Shayne Audet had 11 saves in the net.  Your jv boys soccer team took a 3 – 2 win over Athol as Jonathan Rusinque, Tre Hodge and Jeremy Townsend scored.  The varsity volleyball team lost 3 – 1 to Chicopee on Friday.  Markina Ako-Brew and Hannah Brooks were solid for the girls.  The jv girls lost in straight sets, but Genevieve Wellington and Tylesia Cooper played well for your girls.  Today it’s the girls volleyball teams entertaining Agawam with play beginning at 5:00 PM in the back gym and tomorrow we have boys soccer teams at Easthampton and the golf team at Hopkins.  Good luck to all.  Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
