Jalen Rogers earned his 100th career win last night but your varsity wrestling team dropped a 36 – 34 match to Mahar Regional last night.
Alicia Mitchell had 18 points and Safaire Bryant added 16 as your girls varsity basketball team took a 53 – 35 road win at Lee last night.  The girls pulled away in the 4th quarter to improve their season record to 2 wins and no losses.
Salimata Diaby had 10 points and your girls jv basketball team earned a 47 – 22 win over Lee in the preliminary game.  Alexa Davis had 9 points, while Janiah Carroll and Savanna Baldwin added 8 points apiece in the very balanced offensive effort.
Matt Consedine led the freshmen boys to a convincing road win at Commerce yesterday as the big freshman recorded a game high 18 points.  Isaiah Jones and Jalen Lovejoy had 12 and 11 points respectively.
Today your girls freshman basketball team opens their season with a 4:00 PM home game against Minnechaug.  On Friday the girls freshman team travels to Athol for a 4:00Pm game.

Your boys’ basketball teams swept South Hadley last night with one-sided wins at both the jv and varsity levels.  The jv guys closed out the first half on a huge run and they never looked back cruising to the win.  Noah Valentine, Dom Spradley and Alex Williams led the play for a convincing team win.  In the varsity game it was Aaron Williams who had 18 points and Souleymane Diaby added 15 as the guys improved their season record to 2 wins and no losses.
Tonight the girls jv and varsity basketball teams travel to Lee and the boys freshman basketball team gets over to Commerce for a 4:00 pm tip.  Also the wrestlers try and keep their winning streak alive as they host Mahar Regional in a 7 pm match here in the main gym..  Jalen Rogers goes for career win number 100 tonight.

Your girls varsity basketball team opened their season with a road win last night as the girls defeated Turners Falls by a score of 62 – 28.  Sydney Barklow had 17 points to lead the girls, while Safaire Bryant and Alicia Mitchell added 14 points apiece.  Your jv girls also recorded a one-sided win over Turners with Alexa Davis leading the offensive output with 15 points.  Savanna Baldwin added 8 points and Maddie Wyszynski and Sauna Charles had 6 points apiece.
Tonight the boys jv and varsity basketball teams open their home seasons with games against South Hadley High School.  The jv game tips at 5:30 pm.  The Student Life Organization is planning a party type atmosphere with a DJ in the house and a whiteout planned.  White, long sleeved Bulldog athletic tee shirts will be for sale for just $15.00.
On Wednesday it’s your wrestling team fresh off a three match sweep opening their home season with a 7:00 PM match against Mahar Regional.  Jalen Rogers goes for career win number 100.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans and cheer Rogers and the guys to a Wednesday night win!

Congratulations to your boys’ varsity basketball team on their 70 – 56 win over Northampton on the road on Friday.  Souleymane Diaby had 22 points and Aaron Williams added 20 to lead the guys to their opening day victory.  The jv boys earned a one-sided win in the preliminary with Alex Williams, Sydney Borges and Rob Scoville each going for double figures offensively.  The freshman boys basketball team dropped their afternoon game despite a solid effort from Matt Consedine who had 17 points in the loss..
Your wrestling team swept their Saturday matches with three straight team wins.  Davian Alban, Evan Tran and Ryan O’Connor earned their first career varsity wins, while Xavier Reyes, Christian Rivas and Quintin Pellegrino went undefeated for the day.
Both the boys and girls indoor track teams opened their inaugural seasons up at Smith College on Friday.  Gabriela Harris finished second in the 55 meter dash and Vannessa Williams had a second place finish in the shot put.  For the guys Siare Barklow, Elijah Nixon and Kofi Abyei Yeboah each recorded second place finishes on the afternoon.
Today the girls varsity and jv basketball teams open their season on the road at Turners Falls and tomorrow the boys open their home season with games tipping at 5:30 PM against South Hadley.  The Student Life Organization is planning a party type atmosphere for Tuesday’s game.  A DJ will lead the music and the cheerleaders will be at both games.  Wear white to show support.  Tickets are $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults  Sabis staff are admitted free to all regular season home games.  Long sleeved white Bulldog athletic tee shirts will be available for sale for just $15.00 at the game!

Assistant coach wanted by varsity wrestling team.  Season runs from end of November through early March. CPR and first aid certification required as is completion of the Concussion awareness online course.  Teaching or coaching experience desired. Some sport specific expertise is required. Your girls freshmen volleyball team dropped a close, exciting match to Tantasqua Regional High School yesterday by a score of 2 – 1.  Lanaya Greene and Ciera Rivera led the way, but it was a total team effort.  All outdoor games were postponed due to the weather.  Today we have the girls jv and varsity volleyball teams here beginning at 4:30 PM, while the freshmen volleyball team travels to Holyoke.  Tomorrow the boys jv soccer team entertains Putnam, while the girls soccer teams travel to Easthampton High.  Good luck to all our teams!
Don’t forget Homecoming this Saturday.  The action gets going at 9:00 AM and will continue with athletic events, food, booths and fun for all until 2:30 PM.  Come early and stay late.  There is no admission for the day!
Want to play a winter sport?  The online registration will open on the family ID website on Monday for boys and girls basketball, wrestling, cheerleading and new this year – indoor track and field.  Information meetings for each sport will begin next week.  We will provide the dates and times as it gets closer.

Congratulations to the boys’ basketball team on their third place seed for the Western Mass MIAA tournament.  The guys have earned a first round bye and won’t play until Friday of this week.  They will be right here with a 7:00 PM tip against the winner of a play-in game.  Tickets for the MIAA event will be $5.00 for students and $7.00 for adults.   There will not be any free passes to the event.  Doors open at 6:00 PM.  Let’s try and fill the stands for the game!  Congratulations also to the varsity cheerleading team on their league championship victory yesterday in the invitational event.  The girls are now primed and ready to defend their Western Mass banner this coming weekend.  Finally, congratulations to Christian Rivas who took home a third place trophy in the All-Sates, All Divisional wrestling championships this past weekend.  Finally, congratulations to Kayla Brown and her co-op ice hockey team, as they host an opening round game tomorrow night at the Olympia in West Springfield.  Good luck to all!

Congratulations to the boys’ basketball program as they swept three games from Agawam yesterday.  The varsity scored a come from behind win with a torrid fourth quarter of play to take the 66 – 56 win on the road.  Aaron Williams had 26 points, while Tre Hodge had 14 and Jaren Suttles added 11.  The jv guys had another solid win in the preliminary game as Taj Wheeler knocked down 18 points and Jalen Coates added 14.  Finally in the freshmen game here at school, it was Robert Scoville with 20 points and Darin Smith and Sandro Diaz with 14 and 11 respectively to give the guys a 79 – 43 win.  Today it’s the girls jv and varsity basketball teams getting up to Granby and the boys’ freshmen are here again against Tantasqua in a 4:00 PM home contest.   Later today we have seven wrestlers competing for the Division 3 state title in Eastern Mass and the cheerleading team travels to another invitational meet this weekend in preparation for the Western Mass championship the end of the month.  We have a number of home basketball games next week including senior nights for both the boys and girls teams.  Home games are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission at home games is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is always admitted free to all regular season home games.

Congratulations to Christian Rivas, Khadir Zachery and Jalen Rogers as they each took home the Western Mass Championship honor in this past weekend’s MIAA Regional Championship match.  Congratulations also goes to the entire team on their second place finish in the tournament.  Rivas, Zachery and Rogers, along with Nehemiah Johnson, Jacob Dagenais, Xavier Reyes and Jason Alves all qualified for the State wide championship tournament to be held this coming weekend.  Good luck to all!  Congratulations also goes to the boys varsity basketball team on their exciting win over Easthampton on Friday.  Jaren Suttles, Soulemayne Diaby, Aaron Williams and Tre Hodge each had double figures in a very balanced scoring night.  The guys moved closer to earning a post season invitation with the divisional victory.  It was a good weekend all around as the junior varsity cheerleading team took home first place in their competition on Sunday.  Congratulations to the girls on their first win!  There are no games scheduled today, but tomorrow will see the boys basketball teams looking for a tournament clinching win as they travel to South Hadley for games at 5:30 and 7 PM, while the girls basketball teams travel to Palmer for games at the same times.  Thursday and Friday it’s the boys and girls basketball teams on the road and the boys freshmen team is here both afternoons.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.  Admission is just $3.00 for students, $5.00 for adults and staff is admitted free to all regular season home games.

Everett High School.  Jalen Rogers, Khadir Zachery, Jacob Dagenias, Christian Rivas, Anthony DeCasse and Nehemiah Johnson each recorded four individual wins as well.  Your girls’ varsity basketball team dropped a competitive game to Amherst on Friday.  Amani Smith had 11 points to lead the way, while Sydney Barklow and Safaire Bryant had 9 points apiece.  Today your boys’ freshmen basketball team will entertain Minnechaug here at 4:00 PM, while the jv and varsity teams will travel to Minnechaug.  Your wrestling team gets right back at it with a match out at Hampshire Regional.  Tomorrow it’s a girls’ day as the freshmen team travels to Gateway, while the jv and varsity entertain Ludlow here beginning at 5:30 PM.  On Wednesday the wrestlers are here against Southwick and the girls freshmen go back to back as they travel to Pioneer Valley High School.   Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Daily Announcement (1/19/18)

Souleymane Diaby had 21 points and Jaren Suttles chipped in with 18 as your boys varsity basketball team opened their league season with a 70 – 56 win over West Springfield High here last night.  They guys used a high energy end-to-end defensive set to take control of the game early on.  Aaron Williams had 12 points and Tre Hodge 8 in the total team effort.  James Gonzalez had 22 points and Taj Wheeler added 10 as the junior varsity basketball team took the win in the preliminary game.  The boys freshmen team dropped a tight contest on the road by a score of    35 – 30.  Josh Colon led the Bulldog scoring.  Tonight we have your girls jv and varsity opening their league season as they each will entertain Amherst High and tomorrow we have your wrestlers getting out to Mt. Everett High School.  Let’s get some big crowds out there.  Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.

Finally, preseason athletic conditioning will take place tomorrow morning for girls from 9 – 11 AM and for boys from 10 – noon.  The open gym is being sponsored by the softball and baseball teams but is open for anyone interested in attending.
