It was a tough day for Bulldog athletic teams yesterday as the boys and girls cross country teams each fell to Belchertown on the road yesterday. The girls, depleted by a series of nagging injuries were led by Tanialyz Almenas who finished 4th overall. She was followed by Adriana Carmona and Stephanie Bergman to round out the top three Bulldog runners. The boys were led by Stephan Heathman, 4th overall, and Nick Audette, 9thoverall. Amadi Pendleton, Kevin West and Jahmal Campbell also ran solid races for the guys. The boys varsity soccer team dropped a competitive game to Lenox High School despite solid play in the nets by Kisean Johnson. The jv guys lost 4 – 3, despite two goals from Johnny Rusinque and a singleton from Justin Pierce. The lone bright spot yesterday was the freshmen girls’ volleyball teams’ come from behind win at Central. Zhane Holmes-Murphy and Narah Johnson played well to lead the girls. Finally, it was the varsity golf team who lost a close match to Mohawk Trail yesterday. Jaelyn DeBoise was the overall medalist. Haley Long also earned an individual win on the afternoon. Today our girls volleyball teams have a triple header in the main gym with the freshmen match getting things started a 3:00 PM. The girls soccer teams travel to Amherst for games beginning at 4:00 PM. Good luck to all our teams. Let’s fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
