Shayne Audet recorded the 100th base hit of his career and the varsity baseball team staged a come from behind win over Putnam to highlight yesterday’s full day of athletic events. Jamal Jackson had a steal and a run scored, but the JV guys lost to Putnam by a score of 17 – 9. Both the boys and the girls track teams recorded wins over Athol yesterday. Dave Allen won in the 100 meter dash and the long jump, while Sean Pierce took home top honors in the javelin and the discus. On the girls side, Lashay Jackson won both the hurdles events and Tanialyz Almenas won the 800 meter and the 2 mile races. Kayla Brown and Aemilia Rivera had two hits apiece to lead the varsity softball team past Dean Tech. The jv softball team scored their first win of the season with a 32 – 10 victory over Pathfinder. Asher Joseph took the win inside the circle and Amanda Odom and Madeline Wyzanski led the offensive charge. Your boys varsity volleyball team staged a good effort, but they fell to Commerce by a 3-2 score. Finally the girls tennis team dropped a close 3-2 match to Chicopee. Abby Sullivan won at first singles. Today it’s the baseball teams getting over to St. Mary’s and the boys and girls tennis teams on the road. Good luck to all our teams.
