Avalon Mateo continued her torrid streak of goal scoring as your girls varsity soccer team earned a 1 – 0 win over Chicopee High yesterday and qualified for the MIAA Western Mass tournament. Kayla Brown recorded the shutout in the goal, while Franchesca Diaz was solid at the defender position. Tiffany Alban netted the assist for the girls who scored in the first half and then held on for the victory. Your jv girls lost a 2-0 game although Bailey Barlow, Grace Blasé, Sydney Borders and Amanda Odom played well. Your girls varsity volleyball team opened their match with a convincing one-sided win over Belchertown, but they couldn’t keep the pace as they fell by a 3 – 1 score. The girls must win their senior day match on Thursday in order to earn their invitation to the MIAA tournament. The jv lost in straight sets in the preliminary match. Nia Major and Tylesia Cooper played well for your girls. Finally the golf team ended their season yesterday with Michael Bushey playing the MIAA individual tournament held at Crestview Country Club. Today we have the boys’ soccer team entertaining Frontier Regional beginning at 4:00 PM. Later this week we have senior days for both the boys and girls soccer teams and the volleyball team. Good luck to all. Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
