An’janae Washington lead a torrid final quarter comeback, but the girls varsity basketball team dropped a 45 – 43 heartbreaker to Mahar Regional High School here at school last night. Washington had 24 points on the night and her solid defensive effort left the girls within a rimmed out final shot at the buizzer from sending the game in overtime. Remani Lizana, Alyssa Padilla and Safaire Bryant played well for the girls. The jv team also dropped their contest to Mahar despite Tyleisia Cooper’s 8 points and solid rebounding effort. Amani Smith chipped in with 6 points in the loss. Your freshman girls basketball team earned a very exciting 30 – 29 road win at Chicopee High yesterday as Bailey Barlow lead the scoring with 8 points. Kinley Orr-Westbrook and Maddie Wyszynski had 6 points apiece in the win. But it was a strong defensive effort by Lela Ficarra in the final seconds of the game that iced the win for the girls. Today we have the boys’ jv and varsity teams travelling to Quaboag Regional and tomorrow we have a freshmen doubleheader and the wrestlers go on the road to Granby. Good luck to all. Let’s get ready to fill the stands with Bulldog fans.
